Comments:LDS 1301 - What an amazing and super fun class. Dr. Cockle is a true joy of a professor. I have never looked forward so much to a class. I took the honors section of this class so there was only around 15 people in the class, and he knew each of us by name. The class consists of reading before every class and normally a reading quiz starting off class. The reading quizzes may seem extremely intimating, but they are not as bad as they seem. The quizzes are normally around 4-8 open ended questions over the reading. I would say to focus on the big picture of the readings, don't try to remember every little thing, just the things that are emphasized in the passage. We had no tests, except for the final, which was all open-ended questions as well. The other assignments included a paper over a leader of our choice, a presentation over that leader, and a leadership philosophy assignment, basically what our own interpretation of leadership was. Super easy stuff and honestly was super fun to complete. The class was structured as an open discussion, where dr Cockle would kind of get us started on a topic and then we would share our own opinions, so much fun once you get comfortable. A really fun and easy class, would recommend, definitely would recommend Dr. Cockle, he is amazing. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1301 - I had to take this class for living in LEAD LLC and was dreading it. But this became one of my favorite classes. Dr. Cockle is a great teacher and professor and really embellished the material in your everyday life. Of all my classes I remember the most material from his class. He is a very easy grader with 2 papers and a presentation. There are quizzes everyday but they are very simple and help you remember the material more. The final was easy. I would definitely take him again!! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:LDS1301 - Dr. Cockle is a very nice professor. He teaches very well and is active in his lectures. There are quizzes every day in person but they are usually straight forward and to the point. There are also no exams except the final exam which is worth 20%. Actually read the chapters that he assigns and make sure you’re engaging with the reading and taking notes. The notes don’t need to be super in detail or super specific just have an idea of the quizzes. He grades with leniency so it’s not terrible. There are also 2 essays that you have to write but it is super easy and not time consuming. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1301 - One of the best teachers at Baylor by far. This class if very easy and is also interesting. His lectures are very well taught and his quizzes, whilst many, are very easy if you at least look at the reading. The projects are extremely chill and the final is very simple if you study a little. 100% would recommend. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:LDS 2301 - Dr. Cockle is THE BEST, I transferred into this class last minute and it was the best decision! He engages so well with students and the material and genuinely cares about the wellbeing of his students. He really just wants each person to grow into a better version of themselves and creates such a safe and engaging classroom atmosphere to have difficult and life giving conversations. I cannot recommend Dr. Cockle enough! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1301 - Honestly it's a very easy class as long as you pay attention. I didn't read the book that much but still made good grades on the quizzes. No tests in his class it's either just quizzes or projects. Love Dr. Cockle he is an amazing professor and very funny. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:LDS 1301 - Dr. Cockle is an incredibly wholesome professor. His passion for developing our generation to be prepared for the professional world can be seen in every class. For a required course, the autonomy to learn and read what you wanted at your own pace made the class more lax than forced. The assignments were personally enjoyable (a paper and presentation on a leader of your choice) as well as a reflection paper. Daily quizzes were straightforward, and I personally never had to read out of the textbook to understand the quiz questions or material. I've gotten some practical take-aways from this class that I've begun to implement in my life. So long as you show up open-minded you'll do well. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1301 - Dr. Cockle is a very loving and energetic man, it is a heavy reading class. As long as you do your readings and look over your notes before each class you should be fine. He is super energetic and fun and really is the only professor that brightens my day. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:LDS 1310 - A pretty good teacher makes a mandatory class more tolerable. Model leader paper is the big project in the class that requires a pretty big paper and an oral presentation. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:1301 - The class is easy. Towards the end you can start guessing when you won't have quizzes. The man is insanely energetic and passionate but a sweet guy nonetheless who cares a lot about his students. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1301 - LDS1301- A required corse for living in Dawson/Allen. I was dreading this class, I didn't want to take it. The first week, it seemed like A LOT of work. I almost dropped the class. At the end of the semester, this is my favorite class by far. Dr. Cockle is THE BEST! Take him!!! There is reading before every class, but scan it, write down the charts and you'll be good. There is also quizzes every class, but they are so easy. - Grade In Class:A
