*A 5 star workload is an easy workload; a 3 star is average; whereas a 1 star workload is extremely hard.
Comments:3327 - Hilarious and easy! Take notes and you barely have to study. I love his lectures and he is super chill. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3327 - Music History from WW1-present was absolutely the best music history out of the four at Baylor! Parler is sooooo chill and a decently engaging teacher, and he doesn't assign listening journals!! A lot of the class is lecture-based, but he makes an effort to switch things up and engage students in other ways. I learned so much in his class and did very little work outside of it--the perfect arrangement. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1300 - This class is extremely boring! But it’s an easy A. He grades kind of hard on your listening charts. Make sure to listen because not all the songs are the same to ChatGPT. There is usually a quiz every week. You can take it as many times as you would like to get full credit util the very end of the semester. There are only two exams (midterm, and a final) each exam has two sections, an in-class part and a take home listening section. You get two tries on the take home part but not in class. He is nice, and you can tell he is passionate for music. I sometimes don’t think he understands that we don’t really care about it though. I would recommend take him just make sure to study the week before the exam. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1321 - Sam Parler is an exceptional professor and a genuinely good guy. He’s sweet, funny, and incredibly passionate about music, which makes his classes engaging and enjoyable. The course is interactive and full of fun activities like line dancing and singing, which keep the energy high and help you connect with the material. Assignments are straightforward, with unlimited tries, making it easy to succeed if you put in the effort. While the midterm and final are challenging, they’re fair, and you’re allowed to use a notecard with any notes you want, which is a huge help. If you’re looking for a professor who makes learning fun and manageable while genuinely caring about his students, Sam Parler is the one. Highly recommend! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1321 - Not an easy A. Grades hard on reading charts there are 3 of them and you need to study for the midterm and final. He gives you a notecard for notes but there is to much information to fit on the notecard. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:1321 - The GOAT. Super sweet guy who will open your mind to the form of music. Easy fine art credit and you actually leave the class learning a lot in relation to music history, forms of music, and musical figures. Quizzes are open note and can be taken as many times as needed to get a 100, and the midterm is also open note. Overall, I looked forward to his class (even at 9AM). - Grade In Class:A
