Comments:STA 3381 - This course was extremely disappointing and frustrating due to the complete lack of communication and structure from the instructor. We did not hear from our professor at all during the first four weeks of class. Then, suddenly, three major assignments were posted and due the following week, giving us almost no time to complete them properly or digest the material. After that, we experienced another four to five weeks of complete silence. No assignments, no announcements, no communication whatsoever. Then, without warning or any real instruction, we were told we would be taking two exams within the next two weeks — on content that was barely introduced and largely unfamiliar. It felt like we were being tested on things we had never been taught. The assignments themselves were manageable and the videos that were provided were fine — but only when they were actually posted and with enough time to review them. However, it’s worth noting that the videos weren’t even hers — they were from another instructor. There was no original instruction or engagement from our own professor. Overall, the course felt like it was on autopilot, with the instructor completely checked out. This was not only unfair but also incredibly stressful and discouraging. Students deserve an instructor who puts in the effort to teach, guide, and communicate — none of which we received in this class. I sincerely hope future students are not subjected to the same disorganized and careless experience.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1380 - Probably the worst professor I've ever had. Do not take her especially if it is an online course. The homework is so unspecific sometimes it's hard to get 100%. The average in my class for most assignments is a 60. We have discussion boards to ask questions for points but she doesn't respond to them because "they're there for other students to answer your questions" okay then why are you being paid? Canvas automatically grades our assignments, you don't answer our questions and your helping hours are at the most inconvenient times. Not to mention we have an assignment due on Easter! Overall I would very much not recommend taking her course.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:Statistics - I do not understand what Baylor is paying her for. She literally does nothing. The workload is not bad but the homework is not helpful and is nothing like the test she creates. The homework doesn't open until the day before it is due which is ridiculous because it is an online course and everyone in the class already has a bunch of other classes they are taking. The only sort of teaching that goes on in this course are videos that she uploads from another professor. On top of it all, if you have a question on the homework do not bother emailing her because she will either never answer or she will wait an entire week to get back to you. The only thing helpful about this class is the extra credit that she gives for each exam and for the final. I would not recommend her.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1380 - oh where to begin -Victoria Sides, useless. I didnt think she was real for a while. I thought it was like an assigned proctor because she never responded. Instructions were unclear and if you need any help, too bad too sad, figure it out yourself -SI times weren't flexible. Way too strict. Only way to receive any extra help or credit in the course was SI. We were only allowed to sign up for ONE slot for the SI and it was mandatory to go 8-10 time for any kind of credit back. As a student with a job, my schedule isn't that flexible and I cannot afford to take off an entire night shift because the SI bled into the beginning. There was not fluctuation. I chose the time that work the best but couldn't attend frequently because of work so I just gave up on going. -We had to BEG for any kind of information regarding exams. Review, test times, content, etc. We only had 2 exams, and the first one she like forgot to post it until 2pm the day we were suppose to take it, that was after it got pushed about 2 week. When the push happened we were not told until around 10 am the morning of. I spent the night before studying for an exam that didnt happen when I also had another one the next day I couldve been looking at the material for. -COMMUNICATION! this didnt exist, it was like pulling teeth trying to get her to respond. You are an online teacher, your job is to communicate ONLINE, i simply dont understand. -Victoria Sides did not teach this course whatsoever. We were learning from Maddox videos. Maddox was amazing! But the problem with this is that we are learning from one teacher but taking a poorly written exam from another. There a was a serious disconnect between teaching style, learning comprehension, and the questions asked on the exam. For the first exam there were question about types of tests that were NEVER covered and the only reason I maybe knew the answer was from learning it in Psychology. -She was rude.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2381 - Although I was in the online section and never met her, she impressed me with her effort in helping us succeed. She offers a good amount of helpful extra credit in the form of participation in discussion boards and in post-exam quizzes which allows us to learn the material better and to gain a portion of the points back that we missed. She is quick and thorough in her responses to emails and discussion board questions, very good at communicating via class announcements, and although the lectures are not made by her, they are very informative (and you could watch on double speed!) I was hesitant to take this course online but I believe it was the best way to go! This stats course was not nearly as scary nor difficult as people make it out to be.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1380 - Do not take this professor. She literally gets paid to do nothing. The textbook she uses isn't hers. The notes videos she uses aren't hers. The homeworks don't tell you the correct answer if you get questions wrong. If you email her for help, she takes like a week to respond and will often just tell you to ask your classmates in the discussion. Wow, thank you so much. The only reason this class is passable is because she gives extra credit for 1) proving you did the notes, 2) for participating in the discussions: asking questions, answering questions, etc, and 3) she does replacement quizzes for each exam, minus the final. We were allowed a notecard for each exam. I crammed all of my notes and examples onto every exam card, and still pretty much failed every exam before bonus + replacement points. There were homework problems and questions on exams that were absolutely never gone over. She did give bonus points on the final based on the percentage of the class that completed the course evaluation. With all due disrespect, she should be fired. Oh I should also preface that I took a statistics course my senior year of high school and made an easy A, and I did not go to an easy school. There is no reason why a general stats course should be this difficult. This should have been an easy A, instead I was struggling.  - Grade In Class:B
