Comments:2302 - Dr. Morrison was one of my favorites! I'm not in the humanities for my major, but I took this class because I found art history really interesting in high school. She loves her students and is extremely passionate about what she teaches. I think sometimes people complain because, as with most intro Art History courses, it's going to be a lot of sitting and listening to a lecture with slides and pictures, but that's not a fault of any lecturer in beginning Art History. Exams weren't necessarily easy, but as long as you can write a good essay and know the basic facts of the unit, you should be good in this class. There were also very few homework assignments in general, with a large part of our grade coming from the exams. She gave extra credit on most exams. Overall, I absolutely loved Dr. Morrison and would absolutely take another class with her if I could! - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:ARTH 2302 - I wish I would've used a brain cell and listened to the reviews. This class ruined my 4.0 and I will be bitter for a long time over this. The class was Art History Survey of Western Art and I studied so much for this class it was ridiculous. For the quizzes, and yes I say QUIZZES you had to memorize the art piece, the artist, the location, the art period, and the date for 35 pieces. The exams were hard, and for this being an elective course this is not an easy A class. My grade was rounded up to a B+ because I attended every class, but I would've gotten a B. She is a nice professor outside of class but definitely a little bit of PHD syndrome. She was really irritated one day since no one could answer her complex background history question that had no relation to the lecture, and she scolded my class like snapping at use telling us that we were not working hard enough and we have to prove that we want this. After class we were like wtf all that for an elective course?? But that being said, If you're good at art history you can definitely make an A, but if you suck at it or just don't find it interesting pls take another professor - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:1300 - Honestly she really was not that bad, she was super sweet and you can tell she truly loves her job. The only downside is, is that her Canvas is confusing and the Exam review sheets are a mess. Most of the other things you do in the class are just busy work and can be completed in class. As long as you do the work you'll be completely fine. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1300 - She is a nice professor but almost ever single class is a lecture of just going over the slides. She wants her students to do well and is very passionate about the subject. However, there are lots of random assignments in this class as well as group and individual projects. Her canvas is very unorganized and sometimes it was very difficult to find the due dates and instructions for the random projects. also the tests where superrr specefic and asked very detailed questions so it is important to study pretty hard for them. an ok class but would not reccomend for a easy general ed. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:Art History - Proff. Morrison is very nice, especially if you take the time to go to her office hours, she will like you. She is generally pretty flexible with things, although her lectures can definitely get boring. The slide ID's are definitely the hardest thing about the class as it is a lot of memorization. The tests arnt terrible, and the essay prompt at the end is posted on canvas so you can put information there and bring it with you to help with the essay. She really helped me get out of a hard spot in the semester, she really wants you to succeed. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:1300 - For a Gen ED class, would not recommend. Her lectures are boring and bland, the quizzes are hell and the tests are weird and can be extremely nitpicky. She definitely is nice and loves her students, but can have some favoritism and definitely hated the back of the class for not asking questions. Take a different teacher if you can, might make your experience better in the long run. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1300 - This class was pretty easy but I wouldn't take her again. She isn't the nicest person but she makes her class pretty easy. Her assignments are quite tedious but as long as you do them, it is tough to fail. For her exams, they are pretty easy and common sense. I have never taken any notes in her class and still receive at least a B on her exams. With attendance, she does it with a signature on a clipboard that is passed around so it was easy to not attend class if I was sick or slept in. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1300 - Let me preface this by saying getting an A, like a solid A in this class is hard. I got high 90s to 100 on literally everything except one exam where I got a B and it pulled me down to an A-. I did not pay much attention, but Morrison does want her students to succeed. I can live with an A-, but it's not particularly my favorite thing. READ THE SYLLABUS. A lot of my friends did not and it bit them in the butt. Do the work and you'll get an A on the work/projects, but fail one test and you're screwed. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:ARTH 4369 - Extremely disrespectful professor. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:1300 - Lecture class where you just sit and take notes, grade is based on assignments (they're so short and normally done in class- easy A), projects (done in groups- easy A), and tests. The tests have a lot of trick questions, but if you pay attention in class and study it should be easy to at least get an 85-90. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:ART History - This class was really easy and the professor is so sweet. It is hard to fail in this class, the only way is if you just don't do any work. Her slides have minimal information so notes are easy to do and the exams are all basic art knowledge. The professor is very engaged and tries her best to make sure everyone gets a good grade. I would take her class again!! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:ARTH 2302 - Going into this class I thought it was going to be pretty easy. I was very wrong. As far as teaching goes, the power points are very unorganized and hard to follow. Each class she goes over similar if not the same information as the last. Her power points have no organization and there are constant misspellings, mistakes and overall too much information per class. It is very hard to stay engaged in this class as she does not make the information fun or exciting. It is a boring lecture the entire time. Over all there is not much homework or assignments but when you do have assignments they are long and hard. The Test and Quizzes are crazy. 3 Slide ID Quizzes where you have to memorize over 30 pieces of art and know its title, location, artist, style and date. On each of these quizzes you will have over 100 questions. (1 question for each of these pieces of information). For the test, you have 50 minutes to answer multiple choice questions and write a 500 word essay. The questions and the essay are both hard. On top of the Quizzes and test being hard, you have both in the same week which makes studying even harder. When trying to get in contact with the professor she is a nice lady and wants to help but is not very helpful. I would not recommend taking this class or this professor. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:2303 - Dr. Morrison is generally pretty nice, but I wouldn't take her again. She gave us an exam that literally no one in my class that I asked was able to finish. An ID quiz ~100 questions, and an exam that included multiple choice and two 250-500 word essays in a 50 minute class period. When students brought up their concerns, she brushed them all off because "you're Baylor students, you should be able to" and was rude to the people who brought up the concerns when she asked how the midterm was. Her slides are also so often misspelled that it gets confusing about what's spelled right and what isn't. She goes so fast that she has us take pictures rather than take notes. She also had us pass around attendance during class, which became distracting very quickly. Whenever we had a day off because she had something else, she gave us a lot of busywork which kinda sucks. The syllabus had wrong dates, which obviously can be really bad for tests. You'll probably be fine, but there are definitely better ones out there. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:1300 - Never looks or responds to emails. Reaching her is nearly impossible unless you go to her office hours or pull her aside after class. Study guides aren’t helpful at all and are pretty vague. I was a good student that did my stuff on time and she still offered not a lot of support. My grade in Canvas was completely different from the final grade, so it was very misleading. She tells us to “calculate it ourselves” but I don’t understand why when Canvas is supposed to do that for you? I thought I was going to get an A in the class and ended with a B. She also asks awkward questions during lecture and it made me very uncomfortable. Just not an enjoyable class at all. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:1300 - Prof. Morrison is truly amazing! she is one of the most caring and nice professors at Baylor. She arranges the class with a few assignments, exams, and 3 projects. She is an easy grader and the workload is relatively light. I found the projects to be fun, relaxing, and easy A's. Definitely recommend her if you want to take Art History! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:2302 - I had her last semester. I got an A in the class, but there is so little room for error. You basically need 100% on all of the memorization sections, and you have to get lucky on the tests. I never really grasped what I was actually supposed to study for those, and based on the average class scores, I don't think anyone else did either. Nice person, very different from most Baylor profs, which has its pros and cons. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:2302 - you might as well take her for art history, there are very few assignments but (as with any art history class) there is so much to memorize it was a little overwhelming. she explains in detail but doesn't post the slides so make sure you take good notes. sweet but sometimes a little passive-aggressive to be honest. - Grade In Class:A
