Comments:JOU 3367 - Parrish is a nice guy. Pretty understanding. Did accuse me of cheating in a very passive aggressive way once, but water under the bridge. I digress, this class is exclusively busy work. He just reads off of slides. Just take notes on the slides tho, because thats all that the quiz has on them. Pretty easy A, nothing to hard, just time consuming.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3376 - I won't lie I feel like this course is a waste of time. A lot of the information is outdated (a theme in the department in general) and honestly just boring. It's not Maxey that made this class un-enjoyable, he's a nice guy and cares about the class, but it's just an outdated course. The only frustration I had was that assignment definitions could be vague. The good news is this class is easy and if you don't make an A it's nobody's fault but your own.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:JOU 3367 - He is an amazing professor and he always has very insightful and applicable knowledge. I learned a lot from this course that I feel I can take back to the real world and be successful. I took the class as an elective and ended up adding PR as a minor.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3367 - Class is just lectures. They can be pretty boring, but it's an easy class with a lot of good info. There are only a few assignments throughout the semester, and only a midterm and a final test-wise. He is an awesome person and cares so much about all his students, even if he is a little boring. Definitely take him! He is almost always available in his office, even outside of office hours, and was always willing to help with anything.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3367 - Parrish is a super nice guy and knows what he's talking about. Class is just lectures, and he tries his best to make the dry information tolerable. He's a pretty easy grader and assignments are fairly straightforward and don't take too long. He's great, and the class is no trouble at all.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3372 - Pretty easy class. Got mostly A's on the writing assignments which is worth 50% of your grade. Two exams are open note, so it isn't too hard. Pretty good teacher. Would recommend taking him.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:PR - Dr. Parrish is the wisest, sweetest professor I have ever had. He is hands down my favorite journalism professor. His class is not difficult at all and requires little to no work. If you pay attention to his lectures you will actually learn a lot about the PR world because he is very passionate about it. He has 20+ years of experience in the PR/Journalism industry so he knows what he is talking about.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:PR and Adv - Professor Parrish is awesome, funny and kind. His class is not bad at all. The assignments require a few hours of work or less, but there are only like 6 all smester and you have at least a week to do each one. He is not a bad grader and very understanding.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:4V95 - Sports PR - Prof. Parrish is by far one of the BEST professors I have had at Baylor. He is sincere and caring and genuinely wants to make sure students know the material so they can apply it outside of the classroom. If I could I would take him every chance I got!!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:PR - FAVORITE TEACHER EVER! Maxey is who convinced me to change my major to PR. He is passionate about his classes and PR, which makes you WANT to listen and learn. He's a great guy. This class was fairly easy workload wise, but I learned so much from his lectures. I learned more from listening to this man talk than I have in very work-intensive classes.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3310 - Best teacher ever! Take any class he teaches. He's incredibly helpful and such a wonderful teacher. For sportswriting we had to write about an article or 2 a week. Since it was mainly a writing class, we didn't have a midterm and the final was focused on how our writing skills have developed.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:JOU/FDM 3372? - Such a great professor. One of my favorites at Baylor. The class was a lot of fun and his lectures were great. I thought he was a really funny guy but sometimes I was the only one laughing at his jokes. This class has a lot of writing assignments (at least 1 a week) but there are really helpful to your understanding of the material and don't take long at all. His tests are extremely straight forward and he doesn't try to trick you at all. He is pretty much the BEST professor I have ever had at Baylor. TAKE HIM!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:CST/FDM 3372 - Parrish is one of the best professors at Baylor, hands down. He genuinely cares about his students and wants them to do well in his class. He's a little Bible-thumpery, but genuinely so--not the "I'm doing this for tenure under 2012" kind of Bible-thumpery you sometimes get in other classes. If that's a put-off, though, take someone else. If you come in with good basic grammar skills, AP style is not that hard to pick up and the homework will be easy. This is a writing-heavy class and you WILL be graded on grammar. The homework involves a lot of small writing assignments which you'll compile into a final portfolio at the end. Bonus: if you're working somewhere where you have to write a lot in AP Style, he'll let you include those in your portfolio. He also gives extra credit if you attend Baylor events--including sports. If you go to a lot of games, it can really help your grade in his class. Tests are pretty easy--usually he'll tell you what to study in class. You'll get more out of the lectures than out of the book, so GO TO CLASS. Parrish is funny and has a lot of experience working in the media, though, so you'll want to go to class. When I took an incomplete for his course, he told me to sit in on the class the next semester just so I can get the information. Again, go to class. That being said, he will work with you if poop happens and is a great guy to talk to about in-class OR out-of-class stuff. If he taught more on the FDM side of Castellaw, I'd take another class of his in a heartbeat.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:JOU 3372 - The other reviews are correct. Very nice guy and fairly easy workload. I recommend the class but there are three things you should be aware of: -If you are usually traveling or working on the weekends, this is going to be a somewhat difficult class. At least for the first half of the semester, he gives one writing assignment every Friday that is due on Monday. It is for this reason that I made a C--I didn't turn in some assignments. -He's a very religious guy and likes to tell you about it. Some of you may think that's great. I'm talking to the others. He read out of the Bible to us. So if Bible beaters are the part of Baylor you don't like, this is not the professor for you. -Ethics day. Skip it. I had some major disagreements with him on ethics and I don't think he teaches it in a way that's helpful.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:pr writing - Parrish is the best prof i've had at Baylor. He is very sincere about how much he cares about his students, and his class was fun to go to. He's real laid back, relates a lot of things in class to sports, and his class in not difficult at all. I didn't study at all for the final and still made a b+, u can make a B on the tests if you study for 1-2 hrs. max  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:PR Writing - Very easy class if you study for the midterm and final, which are easy to study for because he basically tells you what will be on them. He grades easily on papers. Most of all, he deeply cares about his students and you will be a better person for taking his class!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:He's a great guy who really wants you to do well in his class. Workload is not too large. Take this guy if you can.
