Comments:1300 - EASY. Just review the slides. basically some people didnt even buy the book. he lets you bring cheat sheets the day of test and you get to use them all on the final. i found i really didnt need the cheat sheet...the questions are pretty common sense. He is awesome. By the way there is nothing wrong with being Canadian or Liberal, so you close minded conservatives just take him and quit complaining and grow a brain please. Comments:ENV 1401 - Okay, #1 this class is SO easy. Probably the easiest lab science at Baylor. #2 Van Walsum is a really nice guy with a lot of experience in the area of environmental studies. His lectures may be a tad boring, but the tests are soooo easy. He lets you write whatever you want on the front and back of a piece of paper and take it into the test. I just copied down all the vocab and got A's on all the tests. His homeowrk assignments are so easy and if you ever need any help he will basically give you the answers. The lab was just as easy. There were no tests in the lab and no homework. There were occasional quizzes, but all other work was done during the lab class. So easy.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ENV 1301 - This was a very easy class. The lectures each class period came almost directly from the textbook material, so I guess it would be possible to not bother reading the book, though I always did to be prepared for the lectures and know what was going on. There weren't really any quizzes- maybe one or two the whole semester. There was a homework sheet assigned each week, but it was actually beneficial, because the answers were easy to find in the textbook and a lot of the homework questions were on the tests, so make sure to study the homework! The tests weren't bad. I never studied much and always made A's. They are mainly multiple choice with a section at the end focusing on cause/effect type relationships and what kind of issues are associated with each other in the environment. That can be a little tricky, but not too bad. There was a term paper due at the end of the semester, 6-8 pages over an environmental issue of your choice. I'm not really too interested in environmental issues and I just took the class to fulfill my lab science requirement, but I did learn something and it was easy to do well in this class, and I recommend the class and the professor to anyone in my same position. Overall, it was a good experience.   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1301 - Ok, Dr. Van Walsum is a smart, nice man from Canada. But he is an awful professor. His lectures consist of him reading directly from his slides which come straight from the book. Which wouldn't be too awful except the tests aren't about the book or the slides. You kind of have to guess what to study. But he does let you have a cheat sheet, which saved my life. And he puts questions from the homework on the test, so those are bonuses. The tests are all mulitple choice but there's always a portion that give you a circumstance and then you have to determine if that increases global warming (or the water table level, etc), decreases it or has no effect on it. So often the questions are ambiguous. It's really frustrating. And there's definitely a term paper at the end of the semester. So, he's nice, but I would seriously RUN THE OTHER DIRECTION.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - This class is boring. Take a lap top, bring other homework, do anything but pay attention or sit in the front. This is the easiest class i have taken in my entire life. I'm not exaggerating. I wouldn't even buy the book for this class, i never looked at it. Van Walsum is a nice guy and i felt bad for sleeping in his class, but it was sooo easy.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1301 - Try not to take him!!! You will fall asleep in class everyday. It's easy but he's just soooooo boring.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:Env. Studies 1305 - RUN! RUN in the opposite direction! I never skip class, but I would look for any excuse not to sit through an hour and twenty minutes of this lecture. The work isn't that bad, but he's a hug-a-tree liberal, so if you're a Republican like me, he's not going to like you. Don't bother reading the book. The tests are from daily assignments he gives.   - Grade In Class:B

Comments:He is a great teacher and his tests are awesome, you get a 1 page cheat sheet for each test and you can use all of them on the final. He wants to make it intresting and is successful, Doing the homework raises your grade because he does not grade hard, and is very easy to talk to him about grades. Take him if you can.
