*A 5 star workload is an easy workload; a 3 star is average; whereas a 1 star workload is extremely hard.
Comments:1350 - Literally incredible teacher. Would insert his own opinion into things every now and then, but never in a arrogant way or annoying way. Made the class super fun, and is such a sweetheart all around. It's a history class, so obviously you're gonna have to memorize stuff though, but honestly he makes it easy to with all of his prep sessions and just in general how his class is formatted. Very few assignments, grade is almsot all tests (his tests are super easy though) - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1310 - I took Gerhard for Christian Scriptures and he was amazing. I wanted to take him for Heritage but ALL of his classes were booked up unfortunately. He said he would be leaving after spring 2025, so he might be gone by the time you're reading this. He wants his students to succeed and he understands that his class is just a required course that every Baylor student takes. He is always happy to help when students have questions in class. His tests are ALL lecture based, so you have to pay attention to what he says in class. He does have recorded lectures uploaded on canvas too. He had 3 reading reviews every week and each one had to be 150 words so every week you would have to write 450 word summary of what you read, but it was fairly easy. He graded on completion. The tests were 25 questions multiple choice and he gave out study guides and you were allowed to bring a notecard on test days. If you want to take a interesting and laid back religion class, take him. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:REL 1350 - Definitely take him for Heritage. The tests are STRAIGHT off the study guide and multiple choice, very easy. He also doesn't grade attendance. Very easy A. He's also a pretty good lecturer and his classes weren't boring; I felt like I actually learned something in his classes, but didn't have to worry about the grade. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:Christian Heritage - I absolutely loved Prof. Stuebben! His lectures were engaging and he is very passionate about what he teaches. For his exams, if you do not pay attention/take notes you may have some trouble but you can go to his office hours and ask about the study guide and he will tell you EXACTLY what you need to know. If you do this you well get an easy A. He emphasizes what is important and does not make you do busy work. He is available during office hours but sometimes emails sent get lost. Would def recommend. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1350 - Stuebben was a great professor to have for Sciptures. He's very kind, laid back, and is always willing to help if you have questions or are confused. There's a little bit of reading every week but it's very easy and for every day you have to write a 150 word response using the textbook/class notes which take no more than 10-15 minutes to do. While the tests can be a little tricky at times, if you study they're not too difficult and he lets you use a note card (front and back) on all tests. If you have a chance to have Stuebben for Scriptures or Heritage, take him! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:HIS 1300 - Great Professor. Super helpful and interesting to listen to. Liked the class. The reading responses were easy, he doesn't read them so I just skimmed and wrote a couple random facts from the chapter. The tests are exactly what he talks about in class and you can use a notecard. He's funny and happy to talk to you. Would 100% recommend him as a teacher. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1310 - Absolute best professor in the world. Clearly tells you what will be on the test, tiny workload, and super funny. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1310 - Dr. Stuebben is awesome! He is a very king and helpful professor that cares about the success of his students. He loves when people ask questions and gets excited when they do. It is a pretty easy class with only a reading response due every week that is pretty easy and isn't graded hard. The tests are a little challenging in my opinion, but it is all from his lectures, so if you take good notes and study them well you should be fine! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1305 - TAKE STUEBBEN!! I had him for scriptures and heritage and got an A in both. He's a great guy and very good at lecturing! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:REL 1350 - I have had him for 2 semesters now (heritage and Scriptures) and I genuinely have not had a better professor ever. He is so fun and makes class enjoyable. He is the best communicator and helps you with the smallest of things. His exams are also very easy to make an A on if you study his reviews. Best professor in the religion department! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:REL 1350 - Professor Stuebben is an amazing professor and made Heritage an easy class and I also found it interesting. He made sure to greet the class everyday and would only call on a student to answer a question if they raised their hand. We had reading responses before class that were 200 words min and so easy to do if you just skimmed the readings and jotted down notes. There are 3 tests on paper and then the final and a book summary due at the end of the semester so the workload is not heavy at all. He will literally give you a study guide on what the test will be and has a designated class period as a “review day” where he answers the questions from the study guide. If you were to study the guide he gave you are sure to get a good grade. I think taking notes helps for overall memorization but as I said he will give you the answers during the review day so it’s not completely necessary. He allows computers to take notes and his lectures are fun to listen to because you can tell he is passionate about what he teaches. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:Christian Heritage - Baylor did him dirty by not renewing his contract. Easily one of the best professors at Baylor and certainly the best to teach a Christian Class. He made the material very interesting but the tests were SUPER easy. If you're reading this you're the goat - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1310 - God bless this man. His tests are very hard but as long as you go to office hours and memorize the study guide you will be fine. The tests are literally the study guides. Don’t slack off like I did cause it will come back around. Overall he is such a good teacher and is really considerate!! - Grade In Class:C
Comments:REL 1310 - The absolute best religion teacher you could ask for. Unfortunately, if you are reading this, he probably has already left the campus since he is only on a 1-year contract. Not only has he been a super personable, pragmatic, and spirited teacher, but his teaching skills are superb. He GIVES you the test question bank essentially. His class only requires about a 1-2hr time commitment for weekly reading responses. He does require a book summary (of your choice and his approval) which can be challenging if you are a procrastinator, but he gives you a list and constantly suggests good reading material so that shouldn't be a problem. He is incredibly available, always cheerful and kind to his students (Ive never seen him without a smile), is hilarious, and loves his material that he teaches. A+++++ Teacher and A++++++ Class. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:REL 1310 - Stuebben is one of the most supportive professors for a Gen-Ed anyone could imagine. Other than weekly reading summaries and one major book review, the workload is tiny. His tests are clear, he'll tell you almost everything on them ahead of time. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:Christian Scriptures - This guy is an awesome professor. He puts genuine effort into his work, and really knows his stuff. He manages to make material fun to learn, and knows how to phrase things so that it's memorable (and often funny). The reading responses can take a few hours a week to complete, but as long as you finish it, you almost always get an A. Gerhard tries his best to give you the best grade possible, and is very lenient with deadlines if you have valid reasons. If you need to take one of the scriptures classes, do yourself a favor and take Gerhard's class! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:Religion 1310 - Excellent professor! His class is organized and has structure to it. Has a schedule and sticks to it. There are weekly readings which can be time consuming sometimes, but they line up perfectly with what he is teaching that day! (Do the readings, they will help you on the exams). He is extremely helpful when you are confused or if you need clarification. He explains things well and uses either examples we can relate to or acts it out to help you understand! He gives you a study guide for the exams and even goes over the study guide in class before the exam! Overall, he is an excellent professor, and I would recommend him to anyone that needs to take Religion. My biggest piece of advice, make sure you understand the study guide material well enough to be able to explain it to someone else! His exams are all open ended no multiple choice questions, so you have to know it, you cannot take a lucky guess! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1310 - The best professor you will ever have for Christian Scriptures. He wants you to succeed and his teaching ability is amazing!!! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1310 - Stuebben is the most amazing professor ever OMG. He is super chill and nice and he helps you if you need it. He assigns reading responses weekly, but they are very easy and are basically completion. There are 3 tests during the semester (no quizzes) which he gives you a study guide-- also dedicates the Wednesday before the test to answering questions over the guide. Also, you can join on Zoom for class if ever can't make it. TAKE HIM!! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1310 - Take Dr. Stuebben please. The class is so easy and he makes that clear from the beginning. His classes are insanely organized and he literally tells you everything that will be on the test and has a review session for anything you missed. Before class he has 3-5 bullet points which are what will be on the test and you just have to get those notes down, he will repeat whatever you missed if you ask. There are weekly summaries which can be annoying but they're graded on completion. Tests are easy and there is a book summary but its graded on completion as well. Great guy, funny, and clearly loves what he teaches. He even brings his wife and kid to class the first day to introduce themselves. - Grade In Class:A
