*A 5 star workload is an easy workload; a 3 star is average; whereas a 1 star workload is extremely hard.
Comments:NSC 2306 - He assigns grad course level work for a class in college. Every week we would have to write an article review and he would almost always give it a 2 or 3 out of 5 points. I would average a 40% or 60% on WEEKLY papers. He would argue that every point is the same and its not a percentage. Well taking off 2 or 3 points from my WEEKLY assignment meant there was no feasible way to for me to get an A in the class unless I got 100s on absolutely everything. He does play favortism I feel, those who went to his office hours did end up getting better grades. The only 5s i would get were when I would go to his office. Most of your points that will save you are for the midterm and final, so study well for those. His office hours seem to just a suggestion to him. Even when I would book office hours, I would have to wait past the allotted time I had booked. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:2306 - This is a fair warning to everyone about to take this course that is it NOT AS EASY as the title looks! Dr. Bodet changed his course structure tremendously and made it incredibly difficult. The class will have 2 exams, which are fairly difficult to prepare for because the study guide was vague both times and the lectures just consist of pictures, so if you don't go to class, it will be difficult to grasp information. There is really no point in a review guide when "everything in the slides" is fair game. You will also have weekly paper reports which are 2 pages long, and next to impossible to score 5/5 on. Dr. Bodet is extremely picking on grammar and formatting, which is unfair because this is a neuroscience class. You could have a perfect paper content wise and still get a 3/5. You will have 1 final methods paper which is a 100 points. Guidance on this paper will be extremely low and the average on the paper was a 76. This class will tank your GPA if you are not on top of it. You will probably get around 6-7 points for the whole semester of extra credit. Book office hours slots in advance, honestly for the whole semester because the fill up. It was very difficult to figure out where to improve when there are people having appointments during office hours, which are supposed to be an open time to drop in. 0 curves or rounding in the end, so don't count on it. Good Luck! - Grade In Class:B
Comments:NSC 2306 - Genuinely the hardest classes I took at Baylor. I got an A in Ochem 1 and 2 and this class absolutely tanked my GPA. His class consists of two exams and several writing assignments. His instructions for the papers were extremely vague, and he would just dock off points willy-nilly. If you had a grammar or formatting mistake, you would instantly get a 3/5, even if content-wise everything was up to par. This would be totally fine if his grading was consistent but it's not. He just decides to take off points at random and there's no rubric. His final project was extremely vague, and he told us to refer to Purdue Owl for formatting guidelines, but 30 minutes before the due date, he told us that his instructions were more important than Purdue Owl's contradictory guidelines. He is a very nice man, and his office hours are incredibly helpful, but the thing is, he's rarely available outside of class. He requires you to book appointments, which always fill up 2 weeks ahead of time, and he also books appointments DURING his office hours. What's the point of having office hours if you're not allowed to drop in to ask questions??? His exams were also incredibly hard and I always did worse than I thought I did. He has FRQ style questions that always seem to have more than one answer, but he still grades them super strictly. Unfortunately, this is a required class for neuro majors...good luck. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:NSC-2306 - He grades so hard, I swear on my life if someone else taught the class, I would've done well. He said he would grade easy for the big project at the end of the term, class average was a 77. He docks off points for extra spaces, and FORMATTING (such a big stickler for that). He literally has celebrity hours (cannot make time, always booked for some reason). Honestly DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS unless you want to live at his office to get his approval. It would be fine if his grading was consistent, but its not he sometimes contradicts himself. I dedicated so much of my time to ultimatley not get an A and be so demotivated. For a requried sophmore level class, it was harder than ochem and genetics combined. Honestly, he is a nice man and very hardworking. I think he needs to be more clear about what he wants in writing, so his students don't have to live in his office. He also changed his class structure from last sem and for some reason it is astronomically harder. If you take this class I wish you all the best. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:NSC 2306 - bodet was a great person, super sweet guy. he is super kind, but grades genuinely impossible. course is structured like this: attendance every class, weekly paper responses due every wednesday, lecture ppt, one midterm, one cumulative final, one big paper/project. no drop exams bc theres only 2. around 14 units. started cold calling towards the end of the sem but its not bad at all. the hard part of this course is the grading. for the weekly paper response, they are worth out of 5 points and the highest I got was a 3. he is so so so nitpicky its impossible to get a 5. he points out random things only a professional neuroscientist would notice. rubric for these paper readings is so incredibly vague like maybe 3-5 sentences max. so genuinely I could not improve my grade on these no matter how many office hours I attended. the lecture slides literally only have pictures on them, so if u dont go to class and take notes youre screwed. midterm was hard bc the questions were so specific haven't taken the final yet but studying 14 days in advance bc im scared I will fail the class. I love the dude but would never take him again. begging u to not take him ur gpa will thank u. everyone said he was way easier last year, but this semester (fall 2025) he started graded super hard for some reason - Grade In Class:C+
Comments:PSY 4V96 - Dr Bodet is the GOAT. He is consistent, reliable, and engages with students. He is a phenomenal professor who is passionate about neuroscience and he has a goal of getting his students to be passionate about it and that's what makes him such an amazing professor. The class consisted of two exams and weekly quizzes and research writings combining for 12 with the two lowest being dropped. This was the first time PSY 4V96 was offered at Baylor and Dr Bodet was exactly the right professor for it he was very understanding and helpful as we worked out the more intricate details of the class and he made the experience so much fun and very enjoyable. Now I will say the workload it definitely on the hefty side but I mean its a 4000 level neuro course, obviously there's gonna be some work to do for it but with Dr Bodet there's nothing to worry about. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:NSC 3320 - Dr. Bodet is honestly one of the best lecturers in the department and, overall, a great dude. The class is comprised of 2 exams (worth 100 points each) and quizzes (11-13, worth 10 points each, the lowest are dropped until only 10 are counted towards your grade). His exams were honestly some of the easier ones compared to other PSYN professors, and I LOVED the grading scheme. The weekly quizzes kept you accountable for the material, while only having 2 exams kept the course from having an unnecessarily overwhelming workload. For my neuroscience people, you will probably be sick of the class by the midterm (where he frontloads all of the psych material), but the second half of the semester (~90% neuro) is awesome. Overall, it's an easy class (imo), and Dr. Bodet actually cares about his students and is a great resource to discuss research, grad school, etc. Take Bodet! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:2306 - Bodet is an amazing and funny guy, like the other reviews said he is very passionate and helpful. He definetly knows what he is talk about. However, his office hours are always booked, its near immosible to get time to go in and ask questions if you are falling behind. with a class titled “research methods” you expect it to be very easy, but WARNING it is not. This course isnt hard but its definetly not a easy blow of class and so pay attention duirng class and take notes and you should be fine. Also he is a tough grader on essays, projects, and the test are very detailed and challenging. He is also the only proffesor that teaches research methods for neuro so good luck. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:3320 - Tres Bodet is the goat. No one better than this guy. So chill and just all around a good dude. Take his class if you get the chance to. Actually makes learning interesting and not boring at all like most of the professors at Baylor. Gives a good amount of extra credit and is always looking to learn more about subjects. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:NSC 3320 - Can’t say enough great things about this man. Finally a passionate NEUROSCIENCE (not psych) professor who is interested in what he teaches. I thought L&B would be stupid and irrelevant, but he decided to flip its curriculum around into something that is actually relevant and worth while. He structures his class with weekly quizzes, a midterm and a final. He gives weekly review sheets to help prepare you for the upcoming quiz as well as exam review sheets. Honestly, before you leave Baylor you need to take at least one class with Dr. Bodet, you won’t regret it! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3320 - If you like neuroscience, this is the professor for you. He is not the "shut up and listen" kind of guy; He's very passionate about this subject and will make you feel the same. He cares about his students, especially those who ask questions and are genuinely interested in the subject matter. The best thing about Dr. Bodet, is that he will go off the book if he feels that there is valuable information that we are missing (that means no boring psych stuff, for those neuro majors). As a learning and behavior professor, he teaches in a way that humans learn best. He has weekly quizzes (with a twist) and this keeps you constantly absorbing information. In the class I took with him, we had one midterm and one final but he might test differently in other classes or change his curriculum since he is fairly new. He offers tons of extra credit throughout the semester that are fair game. Overall, Dr. Bodet has been my favorite neuroscience professor at Baylor and is totally changing the game. I absolutely recommend him and if his classes were not constantly full, would definitely take him again. - Grade In Class:A
