Comments:English 1310 - Please do not look at the past ratings for her english class. She is an amazing professor and will truly help you on your essays. The class has 3 essays and no final. There are readings and surprise reading checks but overall the workload was good. Your last essay is your longest one and you will have to do a presentation based on it (if you decided you want to talk about that). I loved her class so much. She isn't a hard grader either and I am not a great essay writer. I would highly suggest her!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:PWR 3300 - Technical writing is a required course for me to take. Professor Smith's lectures are engaging and you can see real effort being put into making it more educational. There were some classes that really stood out and she isn't afraid to use the campuses resources to help you. The class material itself isn't the most difficult thing in the world but the biggest issue I faced taking this class was the workload. You have multiple group projects and it's a different group each time. The tradeoff is no final exam but you get a large group project that spans across the semester. The workload can feel tedious at times and the grading can feel unfair. This might be due to the small technical requirements each submission required. You must pay attention to the requirements or you will lose points. Even then, some things you might still loose points over so be warned. However, I found the group projects to be enjoyable with good people that are willing to work and get a good grade. However, you don't get to choose your own group so it is a gamble if you'll get a good group. Finishing the project and creating graphics were quite rewarding despite the difficulties. Professor Smith also responds to emails relatively quick and will answer any questions you might have. With this being a required class and her the only person teaching this course, you have to work hard and be on top of things. Do as much assignments as early as possible. If given the opportunity to take it with an different professor, it's definitely worth considering if their class will be better in terms of workload and overall quality. If you have a busy semester and you are taking this class, good luck and maybe don't take it this semester. The workload is more than stem classes at times and it is important to value ur academic life and personal life balance. You don't want to be writing a 12 page research paper at 11:30pm when it's due at midnight.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:PWR 3300 - DO NOT TAKE HER!!! Whatever you do, do not take her. Take any other professor and if none are available, take it a different semester. I beg. For someone who preaches the necessity of clear and concise writing her assignment instructions are the opposite. There is an insane amount of group work and big projects and none of it is relevant to technical writing at all. She grades ridiculously hard for no reason and is SO unhelpful if you have any questions. This class should have been an easy A and yet I fought to keep a B all semester long. DO NOT TAKE HER!  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:PWR 3300 - Oh Hannah. Where do I begin? I have made it through the Baylor physics department and I can confidently say she is the worst grader, the most amount of work, and honestly a top 3 worst professors I've ever had. Oh you think you're signing up for a 3 credit hour class? Just stop and prepare yourself for at least 6-7 credit hour class. Just when you think you're done with the biggest project of your life, she drops a harder project the following day due in 2 weeks. It doesn't matter what you do you will never get a 100 on an assignment. She wants one thing and mark you wrong on the next assignment for doing what she asked. You'll never be able to write concise and complete in her eyes. It's always either too fluff or not enough information. Hannah is truly one of the worst teachers I've ever had, please for your own sanity do NOT take her.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:3300 - Smith is genuinely one of the most incompetent and insufferable educators I've ever experienced in my academic career. I never thought that I’d do so little writing in a “technical writing” class. Assignments aren’t graded/returned within a reasonable timeframe. Even then, the instructor’s feedback is nonspecific and sometimes objectively incorrect (i.e. “you didn’t include xyz element” when it’s clearly included) - a paragraph cannot be both “wordy” AND “choppy.” Smith seems to think that every last second of class time must be occupied by doing pointless busy-work activities. Most of class time consists of activities like “stand up and run to the left side of the room if you prefer X, and the right side if you prefer Y!” which would be appropriate for kindergarten students - not college upperclassmen. I feel the instructional methods would fit best in an elementary school classroom setting. The constant micromanaging is extremely frustrating, especially since very few guidelines are established. She doesn't even have an advanced degree in English, so I'm not sure why she is teaching this course. If you enjoy being infantilized and micro-managed, Smith is the teacher for you!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:3300 - Professor Smith is the worst professor to take for this class. She assigns so much work for no reason, teaches the same content in 5 different ways, forces you to come to class to listen to what you read in the textbook word for word, and then grades you so hard for no reason. She's not even an English major, doesn't have a PhD, and has no qualifications to be grading like she does. She will give you an 80% on a 3 page assignment for not capitalizing a proper noun and doc you off on weekly progress reports. The majority of this class is group work, so if you get a bad group, good luck (you don't get to pick). There is absolutely no reason a 4.0 STEM major should be getting an A- in an English class (an A is a 94% btw), especially for an elective that's not required.   - Grade In Class:B+
