Comments:1306 - Your an idiot if u dont get an A. You get two attempts on the exam except for the final and you get loads of extra credit. I have a 102. Take her she is the goat  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - Dr. Godfrey was not present during all of her office hours. I would email her, and she wouldn't come. She just reads off the slides which is kind of every bio professor to be honest. Her tests are pretty easy just because they are straight off the slides. If you want to learn the material legitimately, take a different professor.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1306 - Professor Godfrey is an amazing instructor. Her slides cover a lot of material, but I’ve noticed that the homework assignments often reflect what will be on the exams. I also highly recommend attending her office hours—she frequently provides guidance on what to focus on and what to skip. Overall, I loved having her as a professor. Be aware that Exam 2 and Exam 4 are the most challenging, so make sure to dedicate extra time to studying for those.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Bio 1306 - Ultimately, I would very much recommend taking Professor Godfrey. Her class is easy and stress free compared to other Bio 1306 professors. Her slideshows were straightforward and very helpful for note taking. Daily clicker quizzes but they were solely completion. Homework was completion for 50%. For exams she gave you a study guide which was basically everything on the exam. GENEROUS CURVES. The class is hard but Professor Godfrey offers generous curves based on the class average which can bring your exam score up to two letter grades sometimes. I suggest making sure she knows who you are, cause ultimately when I asked if she would bump by grade up from a B to an A- she said she would not normally but I did get the A- on my final transcript. If you are looking for a less time consuming bio class that is relatively straightforward and stress-free, take Godfrey. I certainly am glad I did as it's one of her first semesters teaching and I ended with an A.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BIO 1306 - Dr. Godfrey's BIO 1306 class was extremely straightforward. Although her slides were very long, they summarized everything you needed to know without ever needing to read the textbook making it so much easier to study. She tests only what is on her slides and canvas activities that she assigns many days in advance, and all of her exam questions are completely straightforward. As someone who took a much harder BIO class the semester before, I found Dr. Godfrey's class to be surprisingly easy and unambiguous. She is very generous with curving and requires the bare minimum for homework, as you only need to complete 50% to get full credit and you can even complete it days later and have no penalty. She gives so many opportunities for extra credit and truly wants you to get a good grade in her class. The final exam was fairly simple and there were no trick questions, meaning that you could easily pass with a superficial understanding of the content. Would definitely recommend her!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BIO 1306 - If you are looking for an easy semester, then this class is not for you. If your only option is this class, then do not worry. Her first exam is really difficult and might ruin your motivation, but the next exams are not as hard. The final was my best score, so do not be too worried thinking it will be extremely difficult. On top of that, she adds a curve to each exam, ranging from 7-15%. I remember getting a C on my first exam with the curve and thought it would all be over, but as you get used to her questioning style, you start to see a pattern. Moreover, she gives A LOT of extra credit near the end of the semester - approximately 10% of your overall grade. Just read her slides and memorize every detail. Yes, there are a ton of slides, ranging from 60-90, but if you want to get an A, you will have to work extremely hard for it. Homework-wise is not too much of an issue, besides the number of assignments. You only have to complete 50% of the assignment to receive full credit. Overall, if you get this class, make sure you are always studying her slides.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1306 - I had Dr. Godfrey for her first year here at Baylor. Her exams caused a shock to my system as they were filled with fill in the blanks, matching, and select all multiple choice questions. Honestly, the first exam was the only one that I had troubles with. After that, I got an A on every other exam because you get used to the style. She's a very nice lady and she has in class assignments that aren't terrible, kinda fun at times. You only have to do 50% of the problems on Pearson and there are some canvas quizzes that are unlimited attempts. I'm not sure how she'll be in the future but as of right now, it's an easy class and she's lenient.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1306 - Dr Godfrey is a professional woman but cannot teach and is not helpful. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. She is a quiet and awkward person and her office hours are only by appointment, in which she struggles to explain topics. The final is worth 30 percent of your grade and is extremely confusing. In general, any of her exams are the most randomly conglomerated information. The questions focus on random details from a wide range of topics over either 5 to 10 chapters. The slides are not helpful either because of the sheer amount, 60 to 100 per lecture. Luckily she does curve her exams up to 12 points, but the class average after the curve remains in the 50s. This class causes a lot of stress due to having to learn the topics and memorize a bunch of information without ever being taught it.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BIO 1306 - Dr. Godfrey is a nice and genuine person. There's not much work outside of class besides a couple canvas quizzes and mastering biology (which you can get full credit for getting 50% with multiple attempts.) The majority of the grade comes from exams (50% for 4 exams and 35% for final). They are usually about 50 questions, ranging from MCQ, fill in the blanks, matching, etc. She does in-class clicker quizzes that do not count towards your grade and mainly for attendance. For me, her exams can range from covering 3-8 chapters, depending on the class progress. Her exams are a little tricky, but she does give a 10-20 point curve. If you memorize and understand all the key terms before each exam then you'll be fine. She offers a lot of extra credit as well. Overall, it's not the end of the world if you have to take her, it's just that you gotta put in extra work compared to other professors. P/S: 89.45% is an A!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1306 - For someone who is not strong in bio this class was extremely difficult. The lectures were long as she would go over between 50 and 90 slides in lecture and would only read what was written on the slides and would not explain the content in depth. On the exams the questions would be more in depth requiring a deeper knowledge of the concept/vocabulary then we were taught. The homework load for this class was a lot as we had pearson homework for each chapter that took me about a couple hours to complete on top of other canvas homework as well as studying for this class. Overall I think that she is a good person, but she doesn't seem super intentional in helping her students excel in class. I went to her office hours to discuss how to do better and I left feeling more confused and felt like there was not any more that I could do. There are some benefits to this class like she replaces your lowest test grade with your final grade if you do better and she does offer some extra credit throughout the semester, but it just also takes up so much of your time and I never had the availability to do them. She had 4 tests and a final which took up majority of the grade and the other assignments barely effected the grade so you have to rely on your test grades to carry the weight.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1306 - Although Dr. Godfrey is a very kind person and treats students professionally, that is all I can say. The workload is weird extreme, not extreme, but the problem is her Canvas page is very very very unorganized. The homework is based on completion with at least 50% correctness to receive full credit. While this seems nice the assignments are worth virtually nothing when it comes to your final grade. The weight of the class is all upon exams with 80% of the final grade being based on exams and the final. Another 10% is participation and 5% is based on attendance. This leaves a negligible weight for homework, meaning that doing the 25-50 question homework assignments takes forever, and doesn't help to pad the course grade at all. Dr. Godfrey also has her own attendance policy, if you miss more than two classes unexcused, you will lose your attendance grade. This being said she is easy to work with on this. The worst part about the class is Dr. Godfrey's lectures are exams. The lecture slides are fairly empty, which is fine if they are elaborated on, but usually, they are read at face value and not much deeper. The problem lies in the fact that exam questions are then based upon a deeper understanding of the slides that the lectures normally don't contain. Finally, the exams are brutal. Multiple times the class average on exams has been in the realm of 50% to 55%, which I believe is far too low for an intro class. These poor averages are caused by her poorly written exams, which usually cause me to want to bang my head on my desk. While I generally study hard for the exams, the questions are very convoluted and become hard to answer. It is truly impossible to answer a fill-in-the-blank question, that has no context because most of it is blank, and multiple different answers can be legitimately supported as correct. With that being said, Dr. Godfrey is a very nice human being, but the course is very convoluted and a dreadful experience.  - Grade In Class:B+
