*A 5 star workload is an easy workload; a 3 star is average; whereas a 1 star workload is extremely hard.
Comments:2307 - Actually, DO NOT TAKE, her tests are fully open response and are hard asf. She enjoys failing her students and doesn't care at all. besides her tests this class is easy, 3 tests and a few homeworks make up your grade in this class. Stay away and take someone else or take online somewhere else. - Grade In Class:C
Comments:1305 - Overall she is a very nice professor. She does care about her students. However the class is challenging. If you are looking for a 'easy' class I do not recommend. She cares that you understand and are able to apply the content you are learning, so with that there is a heavy workload before test learning and applying the content. However, she is always there to help before and after class. Her office hours are specific but she does work with you to meet at other times. Again, this class wasn't bad it just took a lot of work to make sure I understood the content. Class was a solid 7/10 - Grade In Class:B
Comments:2307 - The class is brutally difficult, and I would avoid it if possible. However, there were a good amount of students who managed to get an A, so it’s definitely not impossible. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:ECO2307 - (Note: Our final grades were curved at the end.) Dr. Sanchez is very sweet and passionate about econ, just still figuring out how to lecture to undergrads. Sometimes it seemed like we were treated more like an upper-level class, which left plenty of students confused. If you find yourself lost about anything during class, just make sure to get to her office hours, as she'll go over anything you need and try to help. She's also very encouraging - I never felt dumb going to ask what were probably basic questions. As for assignments, be very careful to write down due dates on your own, as everything is in the syllabus and not added into Canvas until a day or two before it's due. Also, some of the extra credit assignments, like a 500-word paper for 1 point on a test, felt like too much for what you got back. Tests weren't too bad, and while we didn't get a study guide, they were mostly structured off content from lecture/notes (usually covering vocabulary, some general questions, and then some based on "active learning" exercises we'd done - no multiple choice). Online quizzes are short, 5 questions/5 minutes, so take advantage of any extra credit for them and use your notes. Lastly, be ready during class to be called on to answer questions. She asks them often and emphasizes us walking through the "intuition" behind things. You're not expected to always get them right though. All in all, I'd recommend Dr. Sanchez if you're genuinely interested in economics, just with the warning that she's still a new professor and you'll need to be on top of dates. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:2307 - Dr. Sanchez is an ok teacher. She reads off the slides but you can do whatever you want in the class so if you want to learn on your own time that is possible. She does have some very helpful extra credit options and is usually available during office hours. My biggest problem with Dr. Sanchez is that she treats an intro class like its an advanced econ class and seems to make her life easier by making your life harder. 1. she wont be grading our final test until two days before our CUMULATIVE final. 2. some of the extra credit she offers is simply not worth the time or effort 3. she will randomly get rid of extra credit. 4. she has a no late work policy for homework or quizzes and none of the homework can be excused even though it is a large portion of our grade. 5. she will sometimes get overemotional and berate the class simply put, the amount of work and standard she demands of the class is not in line with the type of class she is teaching. I personally do not have a big issue with her and had a fairly easy time in the class however it should be noted that I am an econ major and don't really have an issue learning from slides/a book. I am writing this review as objectively as possible to represent the common opinion in my class. If given the option I would not take her again and, unless you are able to learn well from a book instead of a teacher, I would take another professor. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:2307 - This is one of the most incompetent profs I have ever had. You are better off just reading the textbook and teaching yourself. The way she grades exams is unfair with 0 partial credit. This also applies in her classroom, if it is not the exact answer she has imagined it is wrong. All she does in class is read straight from the slides. She constantly stutters and goes back on things she explained wrong. She does not post exams or assignments on canvas and expects everyone to read the syllabus class schedule every week. The only positive I can find is that she offers some bonus points that will take hours of your time to obtain. Really horrible, you are better off not taking the course if she is your only option. - Grade In Class:C
Comments:ECO 2307 - PLEASE, IF YOU WANT TO PASS ECO 2307, DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!!! impossible test, long lectures, does nothing to help her students out. 90% of class is exams and long HW's. Please, if you do not want to take this class again, take someone else! - Grade In Class:C
Comments:2307 - IF YOU HAVE ANY SELF RESPECT, DO NOT TAKE HER AS A PROFESSOR. She has absolutely no clue what she was doing, and she blames us for not doing well on the exam when she doesn’t teach right. Her quizzes are 5 questions so at the bat you miss one and get an 80. You also get 5 minutes for these quizzes. 94 is considered an A in her class. Her extra credit is absurdly difficult. She is very concerned about cheating but reads off the slides that she gets from the online textbook. I assume I will get a C+ in the class but for the sake of next semester students that have to take ECO 2307, DO NOT TAKE HER. - Grade In Class:C+
