Comments:1310 - Professor Riggins is a super cool guy tbh. He's honestly pretty funny and very down to earth. He's also an amazing teacher. I'm naturally pretty good at writing so the class hasn't been hard for me at all, but even if you aren't, he seems like the perfect teacher to have help you. He's very patient and understanding, and describes himself as awkward, but he's the type of awkward that's funny. He asks an attendance question every class, and it's definitely a good way to relax and break the ice, instead of just going into the lesson which I love. He also structures the assignments and papers that you'll write in a smart and effective way, nothing is ever too crammed, and there are checkpoints that ensure that you'll write a very good paper. If you like writing or don't and just need the credit, he's definitely the teacher to take. There also isn't too much homework which is great, so it's a good class to have if you have a harder major, like I'm in engineering, and I never missed an assignment or turned in anything late because I was overloaded with work. He's also the type of professor that you would want to talk to, coming from someone who has social anxiety, he's very easy to start a conversation with, whether you see him in or out of class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Professor Riggins is SO AWESOME!! He is seriously one of the kindest and happiest people I have ever met. He genuinely cares about getting to know his students and making their experience as fun as possible. You can tell he really loves his job and tries his best to make the class engaging. He clearly explains every topic and the requirements for the class. The three essays we have to write seem intimidating, but he is really good and making checkpoints so it’s pretty impossible to procrastinate. He is always there to help, and checks in frequently. If you need to take research writing, TAKE PROFESSOR RIGGINS.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - professor riggins is great. he's a funny, nice guy and wants to get to know you and make the class bearable. this was my least fav class but that's because i hate research and i hate writing essays. if you don't have to take PWR 1310 and you have a problem with procrastination and hate research writing, i'd suggest you don't take this class for that reason only. but if you have to take it, take professor riggins. he's got a rough draft deadline, a final draft deadline, outline deadlines, etc. he explains clearly in class what he wants your writing to look like. there are 3 essays you write thruout the semester: the inquiry essay (no thesis just stating what you found from research), the rhetorical analysis essay (analyzing the effectiveness of and content of any argument from any media, you can even choose a ted ed video or yt video or movie, it doesn't have to be a text) and the position essay when you have a thesis on your research findings (10-12 sources). it's 2500 word min but it's NOT THAT BAD bc you will have to use 10+ sources, if you talk about them enough you'll have enough words. he explains how to research with the resources baylor has too. most of the aspects of his class he can't control cause it's just whatever the english department decides i think. but he definitely helps us out as much as he can and is very friendly. take him!  - Grade In Class:A

Never had a class where I didn’t laugh either. 3 essays over the course of a semester and one final portfolio of the essays revised. Easy class, especially with his help.  - Grade In Class:A
