Comments:3300 - Dr. Kroesche's main strength as a teacher is that he has an extremely thorough knowledge of his subject and can answer any question you throw at him. He explains the logic behind the math instead of just steps and talks through his thought process as he teaches. He's very organized and straightforward, and the lectures follow a predictable structure and pace. That being said, he does teach really fast and it can be hard to keep up. But he is available for office hours every day of the week and will basically reteach whatever you don't understand if you ask. He is lenient on homework and will give you extensions as long as you have a somewhat decent excuse. Exams were very fair; the questions were all variations on examples done in class or on homework. Overall one of the best math profs I've had.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3300 - Ok don't get me wrong. Prof Kroesche is a really sweet guy, and you can tell he has a deep passion for math and his students. He is very intentional with learning everyone's names within the first week. But this class was the hardest class I've very taken. Kroesche is so intelligent it is really hard to keep up with his thought process when he is lecturing. He goes super fast through examples, then pauses at the very end to ask for questions. By the time your brain catches up to his, he has whipped through another problem. Super hard to learn with his teaching style overall. However, the homeworks and exams are pretty fair, and he doesn't throw any major curveballs. Overall, be prepared to work your tail off. Doable but yeesh.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1301 - Took him for the general math requisite course. Absolute GOAT. He teaches quite fast, but as long as you visit him during his office hours, which he normall reiterates throughout the entire semester, you would be flying in this course. He really wants non-STEM major students to succeed, and he would even give you an extension on homework assignments. If you're a humanities major, can't do shit about how the math is done but somehow have to take the formal reasoning courses, Matthew's course will give you wings.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1322 - I had him for Calc 2 and he was very good. He is passionate about what he teaches and wants to make sure that you understand the topic. He is pretty good about his office hours and is willing to stay late to answer questions and will make appointments if his office hours do not work. His homework is a lot but it's doable.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:MTH 1321 - Calculus is my worst enemy. I struggled with it in high school AND college. This class actually gave me a decent shot at understanding the subject. Dr. Kroesche constantly pauses for questions, insists on office hours, and provides plenty of practice material. The only issue I had is that he can tend to over-explain concepts to the point where it becomes confusing, or he skips steps when working and comes up with an answer that leaves the class kinda stumped. His exams can be difficult, but if you show alllll of your work, he is very generous with partial credit. He's very sweet and passionate, but calculus is truly EVIL!  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1321 - I thought Kroesche was a good professor overall! He does go a little fast when explaining practice problems, but that got to be understandable as we would run out of class time. Homework due every Monday, quizzes every Thursday, and exams are on 1 Thursday a month. For each exam there are 7-8 questions but some of them have multiple parts, and on the quizzes he gives you hard questions on purpose so you can know how to do the easy questions (quizzes are 10% of final grade and he drops the lowest 2!). The percentages are 15% HW, 10% quizzes. 15% for each exam, and 30% departmental final (so in other words try not to slack off). TBH this class tested my mental health though, but Calc is hard in general; if you don\'t understand the material, GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS HE IS MUCH MORE APPROACHABLE! I would also recommend OChem Tutor. I would recommend Kroesche but be prepared to work for your grade!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1301 - The class is fairly easy, but he teaches very fast, sometimes to the point where it's impossible to keep up. The quizzes were easy and the homework wasn't too bad. He is pretty understanding, and will even give extensions on the homework if you ask.  - Grade In Class:B+
