Comments:PSC 2343 - So many readings for no reason quite frankly. While it was her first time teaching as a prof, it was a very rough go. She would dock you points for using the word "believe," because "philosophers do not believe, they know," whatever that means. Lowkey a GPA tanker. I would just take someone else. She was a great TA, great person to talk to. Maybe philosophy is just not her strong suit.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:PSC 2343 - I loved the material, but not the presentation or the volume. The class was reading heavy, which I can understand, but without enough connection between lectures and texts, and without enough time to digest the readings or really analyze them. The papers were the main place we had to do that. Then the grading focused so much on technicalities that after feedback on the first one, you had to spend as much time on proofreading as really thinking them through. The worst part of class was def the lectures because of how little structure they had. She would not use PowerPoint because the blank white board let her just write terms as she went. Even if she thinks they method helps, we were left not knowing something was important, or what it connected to, until a term went up on the board.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2343 - If I could give her a negative score I would. DO NOT TAKE if you can avoid her, I’m making this comment not because she’s a bad person but because she’s a horrible professor. Ms Lin is truly very sweet and tries to help however her workload and the way she chooses to grade is crazy I’ve never met a teacher for this course who’s make us read 10 different books and alongside she grades as if we were philosophy grad students not undergrad students who are taking a philosophy credit with little to no experience, I once lost 6 points on an essay for using the word believe, alongside most of the grades in the class are quizzes which are easy if you do the crazy amount of readings and a lot of essays she expects you to write like you are a philosophy student. When I went to office hours she was so unhelpful she doesn’t give any help or reviews and her lectures are her speaking and writing random words on a whiteboard I truly think getting a good grade isn’t impossible in the class but her methods of teaching, grading, and workload are crazy avoid if you can !!   - Grade In Class:B
