*A 5 star workload is an easy workload; a 3 star is average; whereas a 1 star workload is extremely hard.
Comments:PSY 1305 - The class is very easy but she is BORING, I practically taught myself everything from just taking notes on my own time. She cancelled class like 7 times. She goes off on random tangents and generally just seems all over the place. She's very sweet and funny and just not a great teacher. Pretty easy class though if you take notes on your own time. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1305 - Everyone is such a hater on here. She is sooo nice and she slays EVERYDAY.I really liked her sometimes she rambled, but not to the point where I couldn't focus. She came from Rice University, so she has high expectations. I will say when I took her class, she did expect a little bit more than your average freshman course, but honestly i'm pre med and her class was EXTREMELY helpful. She had a lot of videos and movies to help us understand the material. She has a good mix of learning styles. She literally gives you the exam answers in her Q&A you literally just have to listen. Her tests are not way out there; she tells you what she will be testing you over. They are straightforward. I really had a great experience in her class. For those hating on her... just admit you're lazy and move on babe. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1305 - I strongly dislike this woman. The only good thing that came out of this course is being able to write this review. She is supposed to be a very good professor because she came from Rice, but she sucks. Her lectures are literally just her talking about random things that she does not test for. Furthermore, her homework platform is insane. For each chapter there was 4-9 different homeworks you would have to do. In addition, you would have to do a practice run and an "official" run through of the homework and if you missed more than 2-3 questions, you would have to start it over. She is not good and I would not recommend her to anyone. She seems very nice, but she does not respond to emails or teach at all. If I had to redo this class, I would take anyone else. For an intro psych class she makes you know too much and do too much. Spare yourself. I will say this was only her second semester and she switched HW platforms from the other semester. Those before myself likely had it easier - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1305 - This class I swear. Not like it was hard by any means, but as someone who had never taken psychology and was excited to learn about it, I can confidently say I am walking out of that class learning absolutely nothing. The only times I really understood the content was when I did the exam study guide and taught myself the content. Either than that, I felt that the lectures were a waste of time, as Dr. Adam's teaching style is incredibly disorganized, and it was very hard to stay engaged in her lectures. She would cancel class frequently, and some days we'd spend watching videos that were supposed to "contribute to our understanding of the course" but every person in that 200+ person class was doing anything but paying attention to them. You'll have to complete over 50 quizzes and participate in research to receive credit for the class, if you don't complete the research, you'll fail. so for an entry level psych class, I'f say the workload is unnecessary but doable. I do have to take developmental psych next as a part of my major, and this class did not prepare me for it. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1305 - Don't take this class if you think it is an 'easy' A. Dr. Adams is still learning how to teach and found this intro course to be my hardest class. There is a lot of information she throws at you and her prezi slide do not help as there are paragraphs of information. There are packbacks and though they are easy there are crazy word requirements for an in-class assignment. Also the homework is basically busy work and they do take a good amount of time, so I'd wouldn't save it for when it is due. She takes a while to respond to emails and sometimes she doesn't respond. The only good thing about this class was that the final was take-home and open note and a 90 is an A. She frequently canceled class which usually ment the test would be pushed back too. But overall if you don't have to take this class I wouldn't. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1305 - lowkey just don't take this class. Most of the people who take this aren't psych majors or STEM majors in general and its hell on earth if you haven't taken a bunch of STEM classes beforehand. Her lectures are confusing and long and don't help with the exams. The homework is all due in May so that's good though. The tests are difficult and don't go over what we discuss in class. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:1305 - Although Dr.Adams herself is very knowledgeable, easy to approach, and friendly, the way she teaches and this class is all over the place. She utilizes Prezi for her slides, which are usually filled with paragraphs of information. If you learn in this way, then this class will be no problem. However, if you do not learn well in this way, you may have a hard time retaining information since it feels like reading a textbook during every presentation. Keep in mind that I am a psychology major and had previous knowledge and research experience, and it was hard to keep up with all of the information sometimes. She does give you study guides for exams, but she does not go over a good portion of the needed content in the guide in class until review day. On review day, she rushes through the list and often gets frustrated when students don't answer. However, we are not able to answer when she does not go over the content. In addition, she often forgets to go over units and waits until the day before the exam to go over a bunch of sections. She is a very intelligent person, but I would recommend taking her only if you're an upper-level psych student and not for 1305. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1305 - This class is an absolute joke. She goes over the slides so insanely fast. We have about 30 quizzes that are all due on the same day sometime in May, so unless you do them all before the due date, you won't remember. Her study guides barely cover what's on the exam and her notes aren't coexisting with the study guides. She leaves things off. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:1350 - I took her class last semester. She is one of my favorite professors at Baylor- I believe she came from Rice University and is very qualified and knowledgeable. She made the content very understandable, she was always available to help, and offered many extra credit opportunities as well. Her exams were very predictable if you paid attention to the lectures and read the textbook- no surprises or tricks. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1305 - Overall this class was pretty easy. Every class she would lecture and for the tests Professor Adams would give us a study guide. If you knew the study guide, you would do fine on the test. The final was open note which was nice. One of my only complaints is that she would take quite a while to respond to emails. She gives out a lot of extra credit opportunities and if you do them they really do add up. It is honestly really easy to end with an A in this class. - Grade In Class:A
