*A 5 star workload is an easy workload; a 3 star is average; whereas a 1 star workload is extremely hard.
Comments:3320 - Al is super chill. His lectures are very boring, but the content is. If you remember a lot from 3305, then this is a repeat of a class, plus some more assignments and a project. Nothing in this class is hard except for the quizzes, which are lockdown and typically weekly; they get easier as the semester goes on, but they are worth a chunk of your grade since there are no exams. The final is not on lockdown and a little tricky. Al is a great guy and clearly has a ton of industry knowledge. Take him if you can. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3320 - Fun stories, lectures are kind of dry at times but I don't know if you can make Systems Analysis and Design interesting. No exams, heavily project-based. Would take again. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:MIS - Hands down the best professor I've ever had! He is incredibly helpful, kind, and truly cares about his students. The workload is very manageable, and the class is stress-free. If you see his name on the schedule, take him immediately—you won't regret it! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3320 - I had him for systems and honestly it is such an easy class. for every chapter you answer a few questions from the textbook and it doesn't take long at all for chapter summary assignments. we also have a quiz after every chapter and those are online lock down browser with webcam but honestly if you pay attention in class they're super easy and some of them aren't even lock down. the final is online open everything. plus a final project as a group but it's so chill. definitely take him it's a great class plus he has dry humor if you're into that. he really cares about his students too!! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3320 - Burns rocks. I'm not an MIS major, but everything was easy to understand during class. There weren't many homeworks, and when he asssignened one, it was directly related to our deliverables. We did have to write chapter summaries (explain that we at least sort of understand the textbook) and take chapter quizzes (not terribly hard), but reading the textbook made everything in class make sense (wow!). As for teaching style, he is a laid-back guy and will tell cool stories about his industry experience. It does get a little boring at times, as is the nature of systems analysis and design, but I'd rather be bored than lost and confused. I would take Burns again! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3320 - - Systems Analysis and Design. Professor Burns is a really nice guy who makes this class likely more interesting than other professors could. Assignments are weekly chapter summaries and quizzes. Some of the quizzes are difficult if you rely on his lectures alone for understanding but the textbook has most of the answers. Burns clearly has tons of experience in the business/information field, and is very knowledgable in the course material. He honestly may be too knowledgable, he can find himself winding down rabbit holes and tangents with stories and personal experiences and interactions. He can give his view on a topic for 30+ minutes and give no information relevant to the textbook or the chapter quizzes. - Grade In Class:A
