*A 5 star workload is an easy workload; a 3 star is average; whereas a 1 star workload is extremely hard.
Comments:FRE 1301 - I loved his style of teaching and how engaging he was as a professor! There was a homework assignment almost everyday, but they weren't bad at all. He would always curve his tests and most people did very well in his class as long as you show up and put in the effort. I would definitely recommend taking him! He's very funny and super kind, and a lot of people, including myself, really enjoyed his class :) - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1301 lab - Genuinely so funny and enthusiastic, it felt like my friend was teaching me a class. I was always awake for this class solely because of how much fun he has teaching. We had in class paper notes every week and weekly homework sheets that were very doable. Be prepared to put effort in, but he is a pretty lax grader. Take him! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:FRENCH - Could hurt a fly lol, sassy, could work on that aspect of his personality, idk if he picked it up from French culture. It's a bit of a turn off, that's the paradox i guess ... but students who get him get him. LOL but energy is ridiculously electric and infectious in lectures. Doable workload and unique style of teaching. He can be peculiarly eccentric maybe because his passion for French culture and it is inspiring, but honestly makes me jealous. - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1301 + Lab - I thought Pontasch was an amazing professor--you really learn the information, and he cares a lot about class dynamics and about you (the individual). He's hilarious, but he can sometimes come across as mean, even though that is not his intention. The workload was not that bad at all, you just have to keep up with the homework. The tests (there were 5 + a final). The final was only worth 10% of your overall grade and the rest was made of daily quizzes (which were such a low percentage as well), quizzes, and 5 chapter tests. overall I would definitely take Pontasch if you care about learning the language at all but especially if you want to have a fun and engaging classroom; if you want to hide and not have to talk/engage, this is not gonna be the fit for you. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1301 - Funny guy, only speaks in french but so does every french professor that I know of. He uses translate so you can make sense of what he is saying. Would recommend for the lab Weekly worksheet and typing assignments and a few presentations so nothing too crazy for workload. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1301 - This guy is actually terrible, he's a narcissist who enjoys making you feel stupid. He keeps you late constantly after class time is over and he doesn't speak english to you, he only communicates through French and Google translate. Ridiculous that they let this guy teach - Grade In Class:B
