Comments:PHY 1430 - Dr. Farhan is the best. Physics 2, especially early on, is a tricky subject and is not very intuitive, but Dr. Farhan, unlike many professors in the physics department, actually wants to work with you and the rest of the students to make your experience as meaningful as possible. The homework is through Pearson which sucks but isn't Dr. Farhan's fault; we had no quizzes, and tests were 3-4 questions with a couple parts to each question. The key to doing well on his tests is going over the practice problems he does in class, and CHECK THE FILES IN CANVAS because he draws many of test questions straight from those. The physics department overall has been very lackluster for me and many other students, but Dr. Farhan was one of my favorite professors, and I highly recommend you TAKE HIM. He is very personable, he wants to see you succeed, and he's a pretty funny, down-to-earth guy. Hands down the best option in the physics department who you'd actually learn from.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1430 - At first, I didn't like him very much until later on in the semester. Physics 2 isn't the easiest to begin with. So you have to really pay attention. With him, the slides and practice problems he goes over in class is everything. Some of the exam questions were directly from those or very similar concepts. Originally, we had 4 exams. But everyone did bad in the first one and he dropped the lowest. Then took the two highest while having the 4th exam as optional extra credit which was extremely helpful. Definitely go to his office hours because he's willing to help his hard working students. He's the best in my opinion out of everyone this semester compared to the profs my friends took.  - Grade In Class:A

The tests got so much more manageable throughout the year, and Dr. Farhan was very understanding as well as very willing to meet to talk about the course material. With a dropped exam and direct questions from in class and the homework on the tests, although you do have to put the work in, he does his best to help his students succeed. Physics 2 is a hard class, but Dr. Farhan does his best to help!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1430 - Dr. Farhan was one of my best professors this semester. His exams are a little bit of a learning curve as they look different than typical exams however with a dropped exam during the semester you have the ability to learn how the rest will be. Once you figure out how to study for them, they really aren't that bad. Dr. Farhan was also one of my most helpful professors. He was always willing to set up a time a discuss your performance in the class. He is very understanding with situations that may occur outside of class and is willing to help in any way he can. Physics 2 is a hard class as is however thanks to Dr. Farhan being readily available to help students it makes the class way more manageable. All you have to do is ask.  - Grade In Class:C+
