Comments:SOC1305 - Ervin is the GOAT! He is so authentic and kind, and he really is intentional about keeping up with his students and adapting the course to what suits their learning best. He changed the format of the final to fit what our class performed best on and everyone did really really well! He also is really really good with names, great at teaching complex concepts, and overall super funny and genuine. Take from him if you can!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - If you need a credit for an intro to Sociology class please take this course!! Besides being a genuine and approachable individual, Professor Ervin truly cares about the subject he teaches and the success of his students! He takes the time to get to know almost everyone and almost every "lecture" is a class discussion that requires no notes to be taken. There is little to no homework besides learning checks which are very short and can be aced by just paying attention in class! The tests were multiple choice and free response but were very straightforward and directly correlated with our class discussions (I never had to study for them). Overall, Professor Ervin is genuinely one of the best teachers I've ever had and was a blessing to be able to receive him as one.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - Amazing professor, especially for him just being a grad student! He genuinely cares about all of his students and takes the time to get to know most of them. Workload in his class was pretty light, the only major outside assignment we had is an essay that you're given a perfect amount of time to do! his exams and "learning checks" were pretty easy to ace as long as you payed attention in class. Lectures were pretty engaging to the point where I didn't really even need to take notes! He prioritized us being able to retain info in his class and he did it very well. For sure one of the best teachers I have ever had!   - Grade In Class:A
