Comments:2301 - Dr. Anderson's class is certainly difficult, but an A is attainable as long as you are willing to work through the reading thoroughly. Expect to spend 3-4 hours per week on reading assignments. This might seem like a lot, but you really need this preparation to score well on her quizzes, which are unannounced, free-response (not multiple choice) quizzes given once per week. They are hard to score well on if you don't know the assigned reading inside and out, so you have to know the material well before coming to class. Other parts of your grade include participation, two in-class essays, a verbal midterm, and the final exam which include multiple choice and short-answers questions. The class is very discussion-based, so she doesn't write much down on the whiteboard, which can make note-taking difficult sometimes. However, she'll often mention a "big theme" of whatever work the class is discussing, and this is what you need to jot down in your notes. Overall a tough class to get the hang of, and of course you need to be half-decent at writing for the in-class essays, but as long as you are willing to put in the work on reading assignments, you can definitely do well. - Grade In Class:A
