Comments:3311 - One of the most if not THE most applicable course you'll take at Baylor. He is such an incredible guy that truly wants the best for his students. He is such a positive spirit and really prioritizes students! He also has INSANE shoe game!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Comms Interviewing - Absolute best teacher ever! I have him right now for an 8 am class and I have never had a better professor or better experience than this for such an early class. He gives plenty of extra credit opportunities and has reasonable work load for the class! Let me tell you, this professor actually cares about his students, he will talk to you after class and you can just tell he's invested in helping you! And the content is great! His lectures are fun to hear and very helpful for job prep in the future! He grades on time, and inspires students to have a great work ethic and leads by example! He is also a professor in the faith, which is great to see! Praying for his health, because he just had a stroke but he is still sending us Canvas notifications, which is actually like so above and beyond!! Truly the best professor ever, you're Baylor communications experience will be lacking if you don't take him before you graduate!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3306 - Professor Cunningham is an amazing person and an excellent professor. He truly wants his students to succeed and always brings a positive attitude to class. His interviewing course prepares you well for real-world interviews, and he offers genuinely helpful advice. The assignments are relaxed and the workload is very manageable. If you have the chance to take this class, definitely do it!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Interviewing - His class was so helpful, and actually applicable to real life. He offers tons of extra credit also.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:interviewing - Take JC if you can, even if you're not a comms major. He's so chill and a very easy class. As long as you complete your assignments, you'll get an A in the class. Even if you don't do the assignments, you'll probably get an A since he gives like 100 points of extra credit for volunteering at the animal shelter or filling out random psychology surveys for his friends. It's a very helpful class for internships/career/grad school stuff. You make a resume, cover letter or personal statement (depending on if you are going to work or grad school), informational interview (you interview someone who works at a company or job you're interested in), elevator speech (1 min speech in front of the class about yourself - I hate public speaking and it wasn't that bad), applicant and recruiter interview (you're partnered with someone and you interview them/vice versa), and a thank you letter. I think that's all the assignments. There's a multiple choice final online, but you can get a 0 if you have a decent grade in the class and still get an A. Halfway through the semester, you stop needing to go to class because it's just the applicant/recruiter interviews. Also, no need to get the textbook (technically you're supposed to read it but it doesn't matter). Highly suggest this class if you need upper level credit, a chill elective, and/or want to prep for applications.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3306 - JC is a laidback professor who really wants to see his students succeed. His workload is minimal, and the class is over around Halloween besides your interview slots and the final review. He gives plenty of extra credit. Easy class to learn real-life skills and boost your GPA. There is a required textbook but you do not need to buy it.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:4306 - He is a great professor. Very chill, very lowkey  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-10-26

Comments:3306 - JC is the kindest professor I have ever had. He is incredibly sweet and has a heart for people and dogs. The extra credit is pretty much unlimited, you can get it by volunteering at the Humane Society. Also, the assignments are pretty straightforward. I had a 103 going into the final, got a 60 on it, and made a 98 in the class. TAKE JC!!! HE IS A TREASURE  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3306 - Dr. Cunningham is an amazing professor. He is very helpful, and this class is easier than the walk to his class. I had most of the assignments done before I started the class because I already had a resume and a cover letter. He gives good insight and feedback on my cover letter and resume.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-04-14

Comments:3306 - It was a great class. It was very easy and it not require a lot of my attention. It is pretty common knowledge that he teaches, but he is a very funny and well spoken guy. You have to give one, one minute speech, and he grades very lightly.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:- - Amazing prof. If he is available take him. Such a good learning experience.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:4306 - Had Cunningham for both Interviewing, Comm Training, and Advance Interviewing and there's a reason I chose him. Really chill professor and quite honestly one of my favorite I've had. Helped me out a ton when I interviewed for grad school and wrote me a rec letter  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:CSS-3306 - Nothing but good things to say about Dr. Cunningham. He genuinely cares about his students succeeding not only in his class but also in college and the real world generally. Take every class you can with him. In regards to the Interviewing class specifically, it's by far the easiest comm class you can take.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3306 - One of Baylor's best professors. A great guy and a guy you'll want to go out for drinks with after class (though, he won't do that with students.)  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3306 - John Cunningham is the chillest professor you will find in the communications department. I had him Summer I 3306 and he literally lectured for an hour and let us go. He has an enthusiastic presentation style and got straight to the point. You do have to put in a little effort but I mean we are college students. He is very kind and understanding and really appreciated his course!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3306 - His charisma and his want for all of us to understand the art of good interviewing was amazing. He is so caring and I've gotten to know Professor Cunningham very well this past semester. His love for interviewing, animals, his students, and God are evident in class every single day. He makes it fun to learn how interesting interviewing actually is and makes you want to succeed and better your communication skills. This class was DEFINITELY one of the most valuable classes I have ever taken, and I will be able to use everything that I learned from this class for the rest of my life. If you have the chance to take Professor Cunningham, TAKE HIM!!! And if you have the chance to get to be like a friend to him, DO THAT TOO! He's the best!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2017-04-10

Comments:Interviewing - Sweetest man in the entire school. TAKE HIM. You get a whole month off while he does interviews, there is no workload and while the class can be slow moving at times he is so kind you won't care. He should have a 100- seriously the best  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2017-03-13

Comments:1305/Interviewing - I've taken Professor C for speech for business/professionals and interviewing. I made As in both the classes. TAKE PROF C IF YOU CAN! The workload is so so minimal and he always lets you out of class early! I've gone to classes that only lasted 6 minutes before....but he DOES count attendance as a big part of your grade, so definitely try to make it to every class. Cunningham cares for every one of his students so much and he wants everyone to succeed. It would be really hard NOT to make an A in his classes.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3306 - Mr. Cunningham is probably the best teacher in this school. He assigns "work" but everything you do in the class is something you will actually use when applying for a job/internship/grad school. Overall, I can't say enough good things about him. Just take the class  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3306 - John Cunningham is probably my favorite professor so far at Baylor. The class is interesting and you come away with some great skills. The work load is very reasonable and he has a great teaching style. I highly recommend this professor if you are willing to do a reasonable amount of work and want a class that will certainly be useful.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-03-29

Comments:Interviewing - Very easy class. Final exam was done with the entire class; everyone got 3-4 pages from the book to read, and he asked one question to every person about their pages. Everyone got multiple attempts at their question. There were a few other assignments throughout the semester but not too tough.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2015-07-09

Comments:Interviewing - If you don't take this class, you're doing Baylor wrong. Just take him and figure out how to fit the class into your major later.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3306 - I took Mr. Cunningham's Interviewing class in the first summer session. This is the second class I have taken from him and he is far and away my favorite professor at Baylor. He is so knowledgeable on the subject matter and his lecture style is very passionate and humorous. I felt bad for him on the first day of class as he got very emotional as he told us one of his dog's had just died. I think this is part of why the class was "easy" like the previous student said. If you have never taken a class from him before, I can tell you there is probably no bigger dog-lover in the world. I could tell this really effected him throughout the entire session. He cut out a couple of the assignments and he didn't end up giving us the final exam because he didn't feel like he lectured enough on the material. He said he didn't think it would be fair to us. Not surprisingly, no one in the class complained. I am very glad we didn't have the final because I remember how hard the other final I took from him was. I strongly recommend taking Cunningham if you get the chance. You'll love him and his class!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3306 - literally the easiest class of my life.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3306 - Professor Cunningham. Awesome professor. Super Happy I got into this class. The class is composed up of about 8-9 assingments through out the year such as resume's, cover letters, and interviews. He assigns the assignments early but you have more than plenty of time to complete them. You don't have class the second half of the semester. 4 weeks are dedicated to interviews so you only go the day you have interviews. He teaches many useful things about the real world, so this is no pointless class. You'd be surprised how many little things about interviewing and the job search you will learn, that you never thought of. His book is so helpful that I am actually going to keep it. If you need an easy elective take him. A bunch of extra credit such as going to Baylor sporting events and playing videogames! Such a nice guy! If you can get into his class even if it is at 8 am.. take it. You will enjoy it  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3306 - DR CUNNINGHAM IS AWESOME! if you need an easy elective take his class! he is super nice and easy going. I took interviewing which he gave some advice that will be helpful for real life. You don't have class the second half of the semester and the test is really easy. He has more than enough extra credit opportunities so there is really no reason to receive anything less than an A  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:CSS 3306 - This class is pretty easy and Cunningham is awesome! You're missing out if you don't take him. There's only a handful of things that you have to do for class and it's none of it is due until one of the last days you meet before interviews start. It's all pretty easy stuff like resumes, cover letters, etc. He gives you specific examples to go off of and lets you send to him before grading to correct if you have anything wrong. Attendance is a big part of your grade for the class, but the thing is the class doesn't meet for the whole semester so you are getting a good deal. The last month and a half is dedicated to interviews so you don't have to go except for the day you are giving an interview and the day you are getting interviewed. Do not underestimate the final either.. it's the one thing in this class that he makes difficult. He's only had two A's on it the entire time he's been teacher. Read the book for the final, and keep track of the percentages. Lastly, there is a TON of extra credit opportunities for this class. None of it is actual school work either so it's not any real hassle to do it. The extra credit takes off absences and gives you extra points on anything else. Examples of extra credit: dine to donate--take a flyer with you to eat at Jason's Deli, El Chico, etc. and get points based on how many people you bring; volunteer walking dogs at the animal shelter; play VIDEO GAMES for that department of Baylor (we got to test out XBox Kinect this semester and get extra credit for it!); and stuff like that. Nothing too demanding and it adds a lot to your grade. No reason not to get an A because of all the extra credit.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:CSS 3306- Interviewing - One of the best classes at Baylor! Cunningham is very helpful and nice! It teaches you how to write resumes and good admission essays for grad school/med/dent school. You do a mock interview so you are ready for the real on, wheather it be in a dental/medical school or for a job. I would def recommend this class and Cunningham!!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2010-08-24

Comments:CSS 3306 - I really loved this class. I feel like I learned a lot and Prof. Cunningham was great! The workload was pretty easy. You have to write a resume and cover letter, and conduct and be interviewed in a mock interview. There are no tests or quizzes aside from the final. You should definitely look over the textbook before you go in to take the final, because some questions are specific, but the book is short and an easy read, and I did it just 2 days before the final. You get TONS of extra credit opportunities, so there is no reason not to get an A! Definitely take him because he is a really great guy and an awesome professor!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2010-01-11

Comments:3306 - He is by far my favorite teacher at Baylor! I took his interviewing class and his training and development class. He is the nicest guy and will really do whatever he can to make sure you do well in his class. Take as many classes wiht him as you can!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2009-05-06

Comments:Interviewing - I want to be best friends with John Cunningham. He's awesome. He's a really nice and interesting guy. Not a lot of homework AT ALL! You have to do an exit interview which is like really easy. He's seriously so friendly though. TAKE THIS CLASS! It prepared me to go out in the real world and find a job.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2009-04-25

Comments:3306 - Cunningham is awesome! He will work with you. All you have to do is do your work well and turn it in on time. Sometimes not even that- he'll move deadlines if the majority of the class is struggling to meet them. He knows his stuff, has written an easy-to-read, informative textbook, and yet is extremely down to earth and helpful. He will sometimes cancel class when the weather's nice or when he has to go to dog training classes. He offers extra credit for attending dog events! This guy is a great teacher, a caring, intelligent person, and a great resource for networking! He still will edit my resume for me, and I took his class 2 years ago. TAKE HIS CLASSES! As many as you can!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2009-02-20

Comments:CSS-3306 (Interviewing) - Not sure why these people were so pleased with this class and would eagerly take him again. He is a great person and does occasionally talk about football. However, I did everything we were instructed to and still got B's on the interviewing assignments. There is ONLY ONE TEST, which is the final. It is comprehensive and accounts for 25% of your grade. I would consider myself smarter than the average student and I found the final to be impossible. Test Question: What did Alec Baldwin say about communication? The question was from a seemingly pointless video we watched during the second week of the semester, which I hardly remembered even watching. Do homework #2 and you will be prepared for 10 of the 100 questions on the final. Other than those 10, the final will be extraordinarily difficult. If you have a photographic memory you will likely do well on the final.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:CSS - One of the neatest people you will ever meet in your life. He cares about all of his students, is always positive, and treats everyone with respect. I admire this man, and would take any of his classes offered. He teaches about life in the real world, not to mention gives TONS of extra credit. If you attend class, participate, and actually listen to what he says, you will get SO much out of his classes!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2006-05-23

Comments:3306 - Dr. Cunningham is probably one of the coolest professors I have had yet at Baylor. He gives as much extra credit as is humanly possible, but his exam is not at all easy so make sure you take advantage of it. And its funny extra crdeit too, like helping out at Pets-Mart and stuff like that. I love animals so it was no problem for me! Don't treat him like he's a blow off though because he's not. Get your stuff done and turned in and I promise if you put effort inot it you;ll get an A, and you'll come away from his class wanting to take him again. I know that I am!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2006-03-02

Comments:Com 3306 - You'd better study up on USC football more than interviewing because you'll talk more about the former than the latter. DO AS MUCH EXTRA CREDIT AS POSSIBLE...it can be a full letter grade! Take an A in to (yes, a very difficult final) and you should be safe to come out with your A. Cunningham is a great guy to know during a job search.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2006-01-12

Comments:CSS 3306 - John is an awesome guy. His tests can be hard, but I think the majority of your grade depends on how well you do on your projects or interviews. He's really invested in his students, and likes to get to know you. I've taken him for two classes and I'd definitely take him again.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2005-11-09

Comments:3311 - John is a great teacher. He usually lectures and over the semester you complete projects. As long as you do good work on the projects, you'll get a good grade. He's an awesome guy!   - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2004-06-21

Comments:He is a cool teacher and is down to earth and is willing to help you in an assignment. I would take him again.
