Comments:ART2310 - Hitchcock was extremely unhelpful and unaccommodating. She is so closed minded about art styles and expects too much from her students. Worst teacher I've ever had at Baylor 0% recommend she's so negative and talks so poorly about Baylor and the art department.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:ART 1310, 1311 - I had her for drawing I and II. I loved her classes and wish she taught others! She does tend to be very fast-paced during the semester and if you're taking other classes with a large workload, getting your drawings done might be a challenge (as it was for me..but i procrastinate). She does have a strict attendance policy, but that's understandable as it's a three hour studio class. Her teaching methods were basically she told us what we were supposed to be learning, did a demo, then let us have at it. If we had questions, she would answer. Mostly, though, she just left us alone unless she saw that we were headed in the wrong direction and even then she just gave us suggestions. Her grading is pretty objective and she'll if you ask for a conference, she'll tell it how it is. She can tell if you worked hard on your drawing and she tends to grade based on improvement rather than strictly on talent. If you plan on continuing art at Baylor, or anywhere really, I would highly recommend her. The class is hard, but it'll give you the skills you need and prepare you for long, hard hours later.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 and 11 - she definitely has her favorites. if you're not one of them... good luck! also, the final written exam is ridiculous- most of the class failed it and there is no curve. if you're a major suck-up, you'll do fine. also, if you completely suck at drawing, she'll find good things about your drawing and if it's halfway decent, she'll rip it to shreds... well, unless you're one of her favorites!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ART 1311 - Aside from being quite verbose at times she is an excellent prof. Her vocabulary is astounding, which is terrible because there are vocabulary quizzes. She states in her syllabus that you can't make an A in the class if you miss more than two classes, which is tough for a MWF 8am. That said, she is energetic and wants you to do well in the class. Just don't take the 8am.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1311 - I had her or drawing I, and liked her so much, I took her for drawing II also. All you do is work during class on your drawing and she walks around the room, and gives you advice on how to improve your own work and talents, without making it look like her works. We had 2 quizzes on vocabulary, and she didn't tell us the quix date, so she popped it on us, and like noody was prepared. Your final grade consists of portfolios, which consists of several drawings, outside drawings, and quizzes. As long as you follow directions on what your drwing should consist of, you will do fine. Great teacher!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - She knows her stuff REALLY well- Loves "art" and wants you to love it as much as she does- Taking this class will really improve your drawing skills but make sure you want them improved b/c she can tell when you're lazy and don't care and she helps you accordingly. You have to be really committed OR a naturally talented drawer if you want an A...by the end of the semester I had had enough- therefore earning me a B- which I gladly took and ran with. That said, I would pick her again- I really liked her, it was the class in general that I disliked. (Vitals: Portfolio taken up 2-3 times, no "tests", minimal to medium amounts of outside time spent depending largely on if a project was due soon.)  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1301 - I loved that class! I took her for Drawing 1, and I'm taking her again for drawing 2. She knows if you are working hard. Her class was more of a fun afternoon activity then a class. There really isn't any homework and she works with your schedual. She's there to help you. TAKE THIS PROF  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Drawing I - Like most of the art professors, Prof. Hitchcock has a rather draconian attendance policy, or did when I took her class. She's an extremely good teacher, and is very helpful, when it comes do developing drawing techniques. When it comes to grading, though, triple-check her requirements-- I got that C by failing a portfolio, by not including preliminary sketches, which weren't listed on the portfolio requirement sheet. I couldn't meet with her to discuss it because she left town the day after our class ended.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:Very kind woman. Instead of saying "wow this is total junk," she will say "well...I like what you are doing here, expand on that area." Makes you comfortable about your drawing and very helpful. However, drawing lifesavers is not fun. Overall probably the best drawing 1 and 2 Prof. on campus.
