Comments:1302 - If you want to relax and not worry about a class, then PT is your guy. Homeworks are pretty easy. His class is really slow paced that I got bored and played games. Quizzes and tests are really easy. His questions are from the slides and the answers can be found through deduction. MATLAB is super easy too. The final was so easy I did it in 20 min. Those questions came from previous quizzes and tests. Overall, easy class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2320 - ELC 2320- Honestly since he was the only professor to teach mechy circuits, I guess he was the best option. Quick notes, quizzes were a little difficult especially when it gets later in the semester (but you can have a cheat sheet) Grading wise, I don't think it was that fair, for example I missed a part in my calculations and he took off 15 points. When you ask a question he doesn't really answer it either. He writes fast, so sometimes it's just better to listen and get notes later. Also, TAKE PICTURES OF THE NOTES AFTER CLASS, he throws them away after class. The exams were fair because they are like the homework, however the homework isn't graded and sometimes he doesn't post the correct solutions for the homework. He does offer a couple extra credit opportunities, but if you aren't a good quiz/test taker like me then it's hard even with extra credit. He has no set office hours, so email him when you need anything. Yes, he does cancel class randomly. Also notes wise, sometimes he'll make a mistake and we'll spend most of class finding where the mistake was and fix it. Final exam warning, he posted the homework solutions for the material that was on our exam at 11pm the night before, so just be prepared! If you don't know what's going, good luck and godspeed, youtube will be your bestie.  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:EGR 1302 - Dr. Thomas is a super nice guy, but I was not impressed by his teaching ability. I will give him some grace, as he has not taught 1302 in over a decade, but it seemed as if everything was put together very last minute.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ELC 2320 - PT was great for circuits. He teaches the class in a different way than the other professors here and I really enjoyed it. I would definitely try to take his class if you can. He is very funny and does not assign too much work. The homework is optional, but it definitely helps prepare you for the in class quizzes and exams. The exams were very fair. The hardest part of the class are the quizzes. With all that being said, sometimes his class is very random. It does not always feel like he is prepared for class. Also, sometimes when you ask a question, he doesn\'t really answer it. Despite that, PT is easily the best option for circuits and I would definitely take his class again.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:EGR 1301 - Professor Thomas is extremely likable. He's a pretty funny guy and makes class enjoyable. He sometimes struggles teaching because I feel like he doesn't know the material well enough himself. He often explains things that don't need explanation, and doesn't explain things that need explanation. He takes forever to get his point across, and sometimes it doesn't come across. The class is easy, and he is extremely fair, and will give points back if even the slightest bit of unfairness. He let us correct our exam problems for half points back, and he is always available if you need help. He's a really goo guy, get him if you can, as long as you have a decent background knowledge of physics and engineering.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:ELC 2330 - Dr. Thomas taught an enjoyable class. Lectures were good with a lot of funny spots. Exams were very straightforward, and if you put in the slightest amount of effort should not be a problem. Quizzes are the hardest part of the class, but only weigh 10%. There is no graded homework. He would occasionally cancel class without notice, which was a bit annoying. I think he thought a substitute professor would be available, but this never ended up happening. Overall, I found circuits with Dr. Thomas to be a straightforward and entertaining class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Circuits - Professor Thomas is one of the best professors at Baylor and I highly recommend you take him. The course load is fairly easy and his tests are always fair. He is a great communicator and a great prof  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:EGR 1301 - Great Teacher though the pace of the class would be slow for someone with Physics and Calculus. The tests were incredibly easy and the homework was very manageable. I would recommend Mr. Thomas.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2014-12-17

Comments:EGR 1301 - If you pay attention (or know physics), he is a pretty good teacher. I fell asleep in class about 50% of the time and still came out fine! There are plenty of open-note quizzes and the tests are open-note, which is SO helpful. It makes the class enjoyable. Although he does have a voice that can put you to sleep and tends to turn out the lights when he uses PowerPoint, he could definitely teach. His pencasts before the tests, which are all posted on Blackboard, are lifesavers. He teaches you EXACTLY how to do the problems on the exam review, which are usually exactly like what's on the exam. He can be somewhat forgetful, but he makes up for it in corny jokes and helpfulness. He is willing to help you learn, if you'll just ask.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1301 - I absolutely loved Professor Thomas! I learned a lot during this intro class. I'm sticking with engineering now because of him. However I got a 89.4696 as my final grade and he wouldn't bump it up, so that is the only problem I have with him. However he is the best intro teacher. He isn't very organized and takes a long time to grade the assignments but other than that he is great!  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2011-12-21

Comments:1301 - I wish professor thomas could teach every course in the world because he is so awesome. i struggled in his class so i went for help frequently and he ended up helping me in my calculus class and physics classes too (because my professors were never available but he was) plus his teaching style was very effective for me. i enjoyed getting to know him, he is supportive of me even though i don't get the best grades compared to most of my peers in the engineering program. if you have a chance to take him, do it. he has a strong passion for what he does and that sort of passion makes you want to do your best.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2430 - PT is absolutely my favorite professor at Baylor and an all around great person!  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2011-05-13

Comments:1301 - PT is absolutely the best possible teacher to have for intro. He makes the class fun and is even funny himself. You get to have cheat sheets on all exams so the exams are not difficult as long as you pay attention in class most of the time. Excellent guy.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:intro - He is so funny! I love PT, hes one of those professors you are always going to remember.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2011-03-31

Comments:1301 - He's a nice teacher but he is extremely unorganized. He loves his students and his class but I didn't learn anything in his class. He's easily distracted and goes off subject easily. He tries to make up problems during or right before class and usually makes mistakes on the examples during class and it gets really confusing. His tests are manageable. Just do the old homework, go over ppts and you should do fine as long as you understand the steps of the problems.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2011-03-18

Comments:1301 - Professor Thomas was my favorite professor last year! He really knows what he's going and clearly loves the material. You'll never tune out in class because he occationally slips in jokes and teaches the material exceptionally clear. Tests aren't too bad if you know what you're doing. TAKE THOMAS!!!!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2010-12-15

Comments:1301 - Thomas is the BEST intro professor to take from. He is always cracking jokes in class which makes the class a really good learning environment to be in. There are about 9 homework assignments which you do in a group which normally aren't too difficult if you know what you are doing. The tests are not bad either. They are about 8-10 questions and for the test you can have one sheet of notebook paper with whatever you want on it. For the final you get to have 3 sheets. I really enjoyed this class and would HIGHLY recommend Thomas to take for ANY course you can. You will truly learn a lot from him and it will stick with you because he has a unique way of making things so you can remember them. TAKE THOMAS!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1301 - Absolutely amazing guy. really funny. makes the material interesting. easy class if you do the homework. cheat sheets allowed for tests. take him!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1301 - PT is THE man to have for intro. If it isn't an easy A/B+ for you, you might consider making Hankamer your destination for the next few years.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2010-04-12

Comments:INTRO - Thomas is the best you can have for Intro to Engineering. He started off the year by telling us that he taught Intro to Engineering because he loves it. That was encouraging to know that the professor truly loves what he's teaching. He's funny, keeps you alert, and teaches very well. Gives you a cheat sheet on his tests, where you can write formulas/notes/example problems/etc. Great teacher, TAKE HIM!  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2010-01-07

Comments:1301 - Professor Thomas is probably your best bet for Engineering. He is quite a nice and funny guy and is easy to talk to. How well you do in your class is dependent on your assigned group, and unfortunately, my group wasn't very good. His tests aren't very hard, but there are usually only around 5 questions, so if even if you miss one, your grade drops a lot. His homework is pretty difficult, but there aren't too many, and are helpful when studying for tests. His labs are quite interesting as well, and he cancels friday classes when you a lab during the week. His classes are almost completely pointless but he requires you to attend them. Overall, he is a good teacher and I definitely recommend him.   - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2009-12-16

Comments:1301 - PT is a really nice guy and very funny. He is also a pretty good teacher when it comes to EE. His tests were easy. The class, however, was extremely pointless. If you are required to take this class, PT IS THE BEST PROF TO GET!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2009-04-21

Comments:EGR 1301 - Professor Thomas is a great guy with a passion for teaching. His tests are never too difficult in comparison to the homework. His lectures cover most of the material pretty well, so if you make an effort to pay attention, you'll do just fine. There are two group projects, so if you get a lousy group, be prepared to take a lot of the work on yourself.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2009-03-23

Comments:1301 - Professor Thomas is a fine teacher with a great demeanor. His is funny (in an enduring/ slightly awkward way :) ) and is very willing to help. The workload is quite easy with only like 8 group homework assignments and two big lab projects, and the tests are very easy if you know the material at all. He could work a bit on his teaching ability, but he got the course material across.   - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2009-01-11

Comments:1301 - While Professor Thomas is a hilarious guy and I loved coming to his class, he is also pretty disorganized, and it was difficult to understand my notes when looking back at them. The bridge project that we do with our lab groups was really fun and not very difficult, and the antenna project that was new this year was also not difficult. The tests were very easy, but when they are multiple choice, he puts in trick answers that you would choose if you worked the problem incorrectly. I heard that it's pretty much impossible not to make an A in this class, and I made a B because of the tricky test problems. Of all the intro engineering professors, I would definitely recommend him, but make sure you really know what you're doing for the tests!  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2008-12-29

Comments:1301 - This was an interesting class. You can tell that he truly cares about his students and teaches the topics well, but at the same time the class was extremely disorganized to where it was frustrating. First test wasn't graded until two months after and the subsequent exam and final were short and multiple choice. I felt as though they didn't quite test my understanding of the course (and missing a few questions on multiple choice exams hurt). All in all a good teacher but not as good at outlining the course.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2008-12-19

Comments:1301 - Thomas was very good with what he had to work with. The class was structured very sloppily, but he did his best. I would definitely advise you to take him.   - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2008-12-17

Comments:1301 - His final exam was pretty hard but he's a good teacher, he skips a lot of steps so homework is always a challenge if you haven't had much experience with physics. Funny guy and great personality. he really knows his stuff.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2008-04-30

Comments:EGR 1302 - Professor Thomas is a great teacher who makes class exciting and funny. He is the teacher for intro to engineering.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2008-01-22

Comments:1301 - He was great at communicating and really helpful. He also has that great engineering sense of humor. 1301 has been my favorite class at Baylor so far.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2007-09-18

Comments:1301 - 1301 was a fun class, he keeps the lectures interesting. Homework and projects are done in groups, and he goes over a lot of it in class.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2007-05-06

Comments:EGR 1301 - Great teacher and very funny. Is passionate about Engineering and communicates things fairly well. His tests are open-note, open-book, so that makes them fairly easy. His assignments are almost all group assignments, but if you ask him about them, he'll usually work through a lot of the problems in class. I would definitely take Prof. Thomas again without hesitation.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2007-01-11

Comments:1301 - Best professor ever. Made learning easy, and I'm glad I was able to be in his class.   - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2006-10-31

Comments:1301 - Thomas is the greatest teacher there is. All of his tests were open book/notes, but they still made sure you knew and understood the material. Everything that was on his tests were in his lectures. He is also funny and very interesting. If I get a chance I am going to take him again.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2006-04-11

Comments:1301 - Professor Thomas' class was quick, easy and entertaining. The only thing I would suggest is a minor background in physics or the course could be a little difficult (any professors would be). 1301 has a lot of physics involved and if you don't know a little when you start you'll be playing catch up. Anyway, Professor Thomas's test and grades are straight forward, the group work is a little anoying if you get a bad group but still is bearable. Take him if you get the chance, it would be well worth it.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2006-01-10

Comments:1301 - Thomas is the reason I am sticking with engineering. Make sure you get a good group for the projects or your grade could pay (why I didnt get an A). This is an easy A if you have a good group and its fun and informative!  - Grade In Class:C+

Date: 2005-12-14

Comments:1301 - He's hilarious and connects well with the students. He's very obviously excited about what he teaches and that gets the students excited as well. The tests were all open book / open notes, but still tested our knowledge of the concepts pretty well, and were a bit difficult sometimes. You get group homework assignments and minimal reading assignments. Labs are very fun with him. He's great!!   - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2005-12-01

Comments:1301 - Thomas is my hero! He is the best engineering professor. He's got the corniest jokes ever that will make you laugh. GO Thomas!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2004-12-21

Comments:1301 - Dr. Thomas is a great teacher, and that's all I have to say about that.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2004-10-22

Comments:2430 - (Circuits) Thomas has a talent for explaining things well. He is good at relating new concepts to things you already know, and at helping you visualize new concepts. He is also very entertaining. His tests are fair and straightforward.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2003-10-31

Comments:Of course engineering requires a lot of work, but his work is relatively little. 1301, he's your man. He and Bradley made it a breeze. Just put some effort and you're perfect.
