Comments:1310 - Dodson is a very nice guy! However, it is so easy to get distracted in this class. He provides an outline of the lecture online, and so as he teaches, we just fill in the blanks. Although I liked his class, the tests were hard for me. I would actually study and yet whenever I would take the test, the questions seemed to be very specific. You have to actually study quite a bit to pass the class.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:1310 - Mixed reviews for Dodson. When attending his class, he is often very passionate about what he is teaching and very knowledgeable about it. This being said, sometimes he can talk to the class as colleagues instead of students who are learning. This makes it hard to understand the content of the class and makes tests even more difficult. The quizzes are easy and so are the reading questions. I just wish the tests were a bit easier.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1310 - DEREK DODSON IS THE BEST. It is a huge lecture class, but he is a great teacher. He explains things very well, and is soooo funny. You can tell he is passionate about teaching and his students. His tests are just like his lectures, and he usually will give you a few questions that are on the test throughout the unit. Yes, there is a quiz and an assignment due before every class, but they only take around 30 minutes in total. They are also very easy. He is one of the only professors that has multiple choice exams, and if you study your notes, you will do fine. He also finishes class early usually. I enjoy his class so much. He is the best! Take him!!!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1350 - This class is a basic heritage class. there is at home canvas quizzes and a packback assignment each week and if you do the reading or google the quiz questions youll do fine. His tests are soley based on the lecture notes so just study those and youll be fine. he has an optional cummulative final which can replace youre lowest test grade and he gives a decent amount of extra credit. I would have done better if I actually studied for the first exam, but I bombed it and they are weighted pretty heavily in terms of all your grade. the lectures are boring but thats just the content and we almost always got out of class early so hes not awful, def easier then some other heritage profs.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1350 - Dr. Dodson is awesome. The readings were a little tedious if I'm honest, and packback was due at a really, really, inconvenient time, but other than that I didn't mind this class at all. The tests were all multiple choice, straightforward, and pretty easy, even if all you do is study other people's quizlets. Lecture material is a little dry, but he gives fill-in-the-blank notes which makes it super doable. He also let us out early pretty often. Dodson himself is really funny and friendly and doesn't ask that much of his students. Be advised that an A in this class is a 93, but even then it's not that hard to do. I would definitely recommend Dr. Dodson and/or take him again.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - I loved Professor Dodson, he is so sweet and funny. He was one of my favorite professors and made the class more interesting. The notes are fill-in-the-blank and tests were completely based on the notes. There is a Worksheet and a Quiz before every class on readings, but there are quizlets for the quizzes and the worksheets are a completion grade so you can get away with never actually reading them. Overall a pretty easy class as long as you put in a little bit of effort.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-12-28

Comments:1310 - COURSE WORK: 4 exams worth 65% of grade, 24 quizzes worth 15%, 4 lowest are dropped, 12 reading questions worth 10%, 2 are dropped, and essay worth 10%. Th final exam is non-cumulative which is nice, but there is a bonus exam that goes over the first 3 units. The quizzes and RQs can be tedious, but you can use other \\\"resources.\\\" Grading scale: A: 92.5-100, A-: 89.5-92.5, B+: 86.5-89.5, B: 80.5-86.5, B-:78.5-80.5, C+: 76.5-78.5, C:70.5-76.5, C-: 68.5-70.5, D+: 66.5-68.5, D: 59.5-66.5, F: 0-59.5 PROFESSOR: Mr. Dodson is a very nice guy who brings lots of enthusiasm to his lectures. He tries to make the class fun by telling jokes and stuff. He claims the tests are based on his slideshows which are fill-in-the-blank, however, I memorized the slideshows front to back and still didnt recognize a handful of questions. I must warn you that if you are not religious, you are not going to get an A in this class. I studied the crap out of my last exam, paid attention, and memorized the slides. I only got a 74 on the test, which resulted in me getting a B-, single-handedly keeping me off the deans list. Its not his fault since its how the class is set up, but the ridiculous vocabulary you need to know is impossible. IF youre religious then this class will be a breeze. There are kids who study for 2 hours the night before and get a 94 while people like me study 12 hours the week before and still get a C on the exam. The only reason I didnt fail this class was because of the RQs and quizzes which Ill say can be found in additional places. One thing I didnt appreciate was how Mr. Dodson did not set up Canvas according to the syllabus. Our grades were all inflated until two weeks left, and he changed them. This lowered everyones grades tremendously and gave everyone a false idea of their grade. I went from a B+ to a C+ from that change. He did offer extra credit which helped, but it couldnt save my grade. There is no reason for this class to be as difficult as it is, especially since Im here to learn about business. Lastly, dont purchase the ECS book since you can find a free PDF online. Overall, if you are not religious, take this class online. But if you know the bible then I recommend taking Mr. Dodson.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1310 - Solid teacher, just got to pay attention. I did the bare minimum and ended with B- while my test averages were in the C ranges. Great teacher, just pay attention in class and review constantly.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1310 - This is my favorite professor that i have ever had at baylor. he is so amazing and so passionate about what he is talking about and his exams/assignments are always a breeze. he has no bias and genuinely just teaches the material and relates it in a way that makes it very easy to understand. you will have to write one super short essay, but that is about the hardest assignment all semester. please take him if you have the opportunity, he is so amazing.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2022-12-05

Comments:1300 - Literally the best Christian Scriptures course that you can take. Dr. Dodson takes time during his lectures to thoroughly explain the material and even references the reading from the Access Bible that we utilize in class. He provides fill-in the blank notes that follow his lectures. However, you must stay on top of them and attend each class in order to know what will be on the exam. Asking a friend to cover for you on the notes will not do you any good as her points out what will be focused on the exam. Do the weekly readings, reading questions (RQs), and quizzes in order to keep that average high! If you blow them off, your grade will reflect it. He does not offer extra credit, but take these assignments as your extra credit opportunities! The exams are straightforward and cover exactly what he presents in class and will let you know what to leave out. He is fair and passionate about what he teaches, so take the time to get to know him before class or in office hours where you can view your exam. He is friendly and approachable unlike your other professors. This man truly has the ability to turn your mood around on a bad day with his positive energy! I highly recommend taking this course with Dr. Dodson.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-11-14

Comments:Scriptures - literally your best option for scriptures. he is so nice and just is always so happy! You can tell that he loves what he does which is just fantastic! I will admit there is a decent amount of reading/coursework that goes along with this class. The reading quizzes reflected the reading due each class and didn't have much to do with the tests. The tests were STRAIGHT from his lecture material. So just literally memorize the lecture slides and you will be totally good!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-11-09

Comments:1350 - He’s a pretty solid professor. Very kind man that really cares for his students. His teaching style wasn’t the best for me as he had notes that were fill in the blank. This is super useful for tests but sometimes they were kind of confusing to look back on. However, there were quite a few opportunities for extra credit towards the end of the year.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2022-05-16

Comments:1350 - Absolutely loved him! if you have the opportunity to take him do it! He gives daily quizzes and readings which are open notes from home, and the information on the quiz is not on the exam. All questions for exams are directly from the powerpoints which are fill-in-the-blank notes. He gave 4 in-person exams one was the "final." It was not cumulative and just covered the last unit. The only pain was the weekly packback assignments but they were easy hundreds if you did them. He drops your lowest packback and your lowest 3 quizzes. Would 100% recommend he amazing and truly does care about you.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2022-05-10

Comments:1350 - Take him! Been at Baylor for two years and he is one of the most amazing professors ever! He is kind, and goes out of his way to make sure you get a good grade. He gave so many extra credit opportunities, and his tests are crazy easy! Class was also not boring, which took me by surprise. He was very funny. He would often let us out 15-30 minutes early because he always finished the lecture on time! Remember to do the weekly quizzes and take notes from the Powerpoints and you will do exceptionally well. Only thorn in the flesh is Packback, but it's a small price to pay for such an awesome class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - LOVE LOVE LOVE DADDY DODSON. He's really helpful when you're struggling in this course, started with a C and now I'm at an A. Gives amazing grade opportunities if you're not doing well. Tests are easy and just read the textbooks for the quizzes. The only con is he uses packback, which is a menace to society.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-04-30

Comments:1310 and 1350 - Dodson's REL 1310 and 1350 classes are very easy IF you put in the work. Dodson is great at explaining concepts and elaborating in a way that is very understandable. There are reading quizzes every week, but the readings are very helpful but not necessary for exam purposes. The exams are solely based on the lecture notes and outline. Take him if you can, he is awesome!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-04-25

Comments:1350, 1310 - DODSON IS THE BEST! I seriously love him so much. He is such a great teacher and so kind. He is willing to work with you and wants you to succeed. He really is such a Dad and it's so funny. His classes are a lot easier than other scriptures or heritage classes. TAKE HIM!!!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-04-14

Comments:1310 - Dodson is the easiest Scriptures prof that I know of. I finished his class with a very high A (scoring a 100% on the first test and a 97% on the final). His tests are almost word from word from his powerpoints which are posted online. Relative to the other religion profs, Dodson's homework is next to nothing. That being said, STILL PUT IN THE WORK. Homework assignments probably take 1-2 hours per week, but you can do them as early as you want. I finished all my assingments halfway through the semester; it was a relief. It is very difficult to contact Dodson's assistants but that is probably because nobody has ever needed help in this class. Lectures are a bit slow, but if you study and put in the work this class will be a breeze!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-01-03

Comments:Rel 1310 - I absolutely love Dodson!!! This was one of my favorite classes of the semester! He is an adorable man that loves what he teaches and is so excited to work with college students! He teaches from the Bible and every night you have a little to read from the Baylor Bible and the 2 other books that you will need for the semester (so yes rent all the books required). Then you take a short quiz before class and answer some questions. Then he gives a lecture during class and gives you all his notes. The tests are all from the lecture notes and are very short (50 questions each). The final is the same as all the normal tests. He is always available to talk and tries to make his lecture funny and enjoyable. He is just a sweet man that loves the Lord and is not here to make your life hard. Please take him!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - The easiest class ive ever taken. I just dont pay attention so thats why i have a B. He is very energetic. Some lecture are fun, some you wanna sleep through. quizzes and reading questions due before every class but its online and you are able to use your resources. 10/10 mad easy  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2021-11-16

Comments:REL 1350 - Dodson is so easy for Heritage. There's about 1 quiz a week and reading questions, but a few get dropped so you don't have to do all of them. The tests come directly from the lecture. The best way to study is to try to fill in the blanks on the PowerPoints. The tests are 50 questions and I finished them in under 10 minutes. Very easy class and almost no work compared to my other classes. Dodson is also pretty funny and likes to get to know his students. He has a lot of dad humor and will sometimes have fun things added to the lectures to keep them interesting. Definitely recommend!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2021-11-13

Comments:1310 and 1350 - I HIGHLY RECOMMEND EVERYONE TAKE DEREK DODSON!!! He is such a great professor! For Christian Scriptures and Heritage, he teaches from a powerpoint. He posts the powerpoints with blanks on Canvas so you can fill them in during class, or you can take your own notes. His tests are exactly over what is on the powerpoint. He is such a kind person, and you can go talk to him during office hours, which I would highly recommend if you want to know more about the topics you cover in class! Before each class there is a reading quiz, and sometimes the readings were a little long, but overall not bad. The reading quizzes are like 5 questions each, pretty easy, and he gives you like 4 drops. I cannot recommend taking this class enough!!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2021-10-21

Comments:1310 - Would take again. I really enjoy Dodsons class he makes everything really simple to understand and I find his class to be interesting. There is a ton of homework though, a lot of reading and a quiz and reading questions due for each of the reading topics. Usually takes me a good 4 hours to finish all the readings and notes and then the quiz is super easy if you do the readings and so are the reading questions. The test are only over his powerpoints so its easy to study.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2021-10-18

Comments:1310 - Take Dodson if you can. He is a great, engaging professor who really wants to educate you on the Bible. He assigns reading questions and quizzes before each class, but they take a maximum of 1 hour to complete. The exams are pretty easy if you pay attention in class and study the powerpoints. He is also super friendly.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2021-05-17

Comments:1350 - Pretty straightforward course. Readings are very little, and there are daily online quizzes and reading questions which barely take any time. The workload is very small in this course, and the tests are taken straight from the PowerPoints, so just memorize those and you’ll get A’s on the exams. Dodson is an awesome and really cool guy. Sure the class isn’t fun, and he just lectures off the PowerPoints which of course gets a bit boring at times, but he’s an awesome prof who’s easy to talk to so be sure to have a conversation with him once in a while about anything. THE BEST PROF FOR THIS COURSE HANDS DOWN !!!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2021-05-12

Comments:REL 1350 - Dr. Dodson comes across as a genuinely nice guy. He really tries to engage with his class and make jokes throughout the lectures. Some people mentioned that his teaching style is a bit dry. It definitely can be as the class mainly consists of Dodson lecturing off of a PowerPoint the whole time (although he does include videos to show in class at times). HOWEVER, the easiness of this class far outweighs any "boringness" with his lectures. If you want to do well in this class, literally all you need to do is the homework (reading questions + a Canvas quiz 2x a week) and STUDY THE POWERPOINTS SLIDE BY SLIDE. His exams are literally just the information from his PowerPoints, so definitely write everything down and study that. He even posts the PowerPoint slides with blanks in them on Canvas so that you can fill in the blanks during class -- I highly recommend doing this. Honestly, this class is WAY easier than a bunch of the other Christian Heritage teachers. Take Dodson.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2021-04-15

Comments:Christian Scriptures - Dr. Dodson is a very nice guy, but I personally do not learn well with his teaching style. His powerpoints include everything you need to know, but the class itself is very boring making it hard to be engaged. In his defense, he was teaching a class of 300 which makes it hard to make a connection. If you were struggling in his class you would probably be referred to a grad student.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2021-01-05

Comments:REL 1310 - I LOVE DODSON. He is genuinely a kind man who makes an effort to engage with his students. He is an excellent teacher, but his lectures can tend to get boring -- especially because his PowerPoints are so plain. There definitely is a bit of a workload for this class, but it is manageable. His exams were ALWAYS straight off of his PowerPoints. He uploads the PowerPoints to Canvas with blanks in the sentences so that you can fill them out during class. Literally study his PowerPoints slide by slide and you should do well on his exams.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-12-12

Comments:1300 - I'm really torn with rating professor Dodson. He's one of the sweetest professors I've ever had, genuinely cares about his students, and really tries to make the class fun and interesting. However, if you haven't read the Bible before, don't take this class. I felt like professor Dodson expects you to come in understanding most of the major stories and themes of the Bible and he tends to gloss over a lot of things that I wish he had better explained, I often found myself lost in his lectures. There are also 2 readings a week that go along with reading questions (3 lowest grades dropped) and a quiz (4 lowest grades dropped) that take me about an hour each on average. he also gives a big extra credit opportunity that isn't too hard. You'll need to study really hard to make a good grade, and I know there are other REL1300 profs that are much easier.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2020-12-07

Comments:1310 - Dodson is probably my favorite professor at Baylor. His lectures are very interesting and he is incredibly passionate about the subject. He also has a great sense of humor! There are light readings and a canvas quiz and short reading questions before every class which do not take much time at all. His exams are word for word from his lecture notes and he gives you lecture outlines to study from. He is very kind and welcoming and wants to help in any way he can. Definitely will be taking him for Heritage as well!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-11-23

Comments:1310 - He is the best!!! His classes are fun and straight forward. Exams are all based on the lecture PowerPoint. I took both Scriptures this semester and planning to take Heritage with him next semester.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-10-25

Comments:REL1310 - I took this class during Summer of Discovery and didn't encounter any problems. We had a discussion, reading questions, quizzes, and a test each week, but it was all very manageable and took about 2-4 hours each day to complete. The tests are very easy (3 of them were all multiple choice, all about 35 questions) as long as you do the reading and all of the required work.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-07-08

Comments:1310 - If possible for sure take Dodson! I had him at 7:35 in the morning and he was for sure ready to teach. Before every class you have a quiz and RQs(reading questions) due but they are not bad at all. He has four exams and they are all based off his lectures. Whenever you have a question, he is ready to answer and will speak the full out truth. I for sure recommend taking this class.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-07-05

Comments:1350 - Take this class. Dodson is a great guy and great professor. You have about two reading question assignments and quizzes every week that involve maybe 20 pages of reading per week, and they're both basically free A's. The rest is made up by tests, which are based strictly on the powerpoints he presents, so literally just study those and you'll get an A. How people didn't get an A in this class I have no idea.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-05-15

Comments:REL 1350 - Dr. Dodson is a great teacher. He makes class interesting and fun. He cares for us so much and tells us that often! It is a challenging class, but if you pay attention in class, stay caught up with your readings, and do the RQ's and Quizzes, you should do just fine. It is a required class at Baylor and I took Scriptures and Heritage with Dodson and don't regret it. I hear that some professors are easier, but he defiantly is the most kind and most interesting! I would recommend taking Dodson. He offers so much help in office hours and an extra credit assignment that is 10 points on your lowest test grade. Along side the dropped homework and quizzes, he really sets you up to be successful. Also a B is like an 80.5-86.4 in his class which is super clutch. Take him!  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2020-05-15

Comments:Rel 1350 - Dr. Dodson is a very boring, dry professor. He lectures directly from the powerpoints everyday. He used to be a baptist preacher, and you can tell by the way he lectures. You have typically 2 online quizzes per week and 2 sets of reading questions which are pretty easy. His exams come straight off the power point slides which he provides and posts on canvas. He is a very nice man and cares about his students. Boring class but not too difficult.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2020-04-22

Comments:REL 1310 - Really good professor, likes his students, helps make the class not too laborious. I wish it was a little more conversational, because I think there\'s a lot of really good stuff to talk about and ask questions about but it\'s formatted as a pretty boring lecture style. He tries to make jokes... 1 in 10 lands and it keeps him inspired. Great guy, take him if you can.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-08-23

Comments:1310 - Dr.Dodson was one of my favorite teachers this year, He is very nice and really seems to care about the people in his class, he knows its required and isn't interested in tricking anyone or having you memorize 300 terms each test. If you ask questions, go to class, and make sure to remember to do the weekly assignments (The only part of this class that is that hard) you can have a strong grade in here.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-04-14

Comments:REL 1310 - Take Dodson. 20ish min of HW due before each lecture. Lectures were super enjoyable and easy to listen too. Even interesting at times. Test were a very good reflection of lectures. If you just study your notes and powerpoint slides (which he posts), an A is easily obtainable. 10 point extra credit too. Can’t imagine there’s a better scriptures prof to take.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2019-12-18

Comments:1310 - Class is easy but you do homework and quizzes BEFORE lectures. Doesn't make sense to me but it's not that big of a deal when the class is pretty straight forward.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2019-12-05

Comments:1310 - Professor Dodson was my favorite professor this semester. He made christian scriptures actually enjoyable and understandable. You have to do a reading and a canvas quiz before every class but they aren't hard. There were four test including the final, and they were straight from the powerpoints in class. TAKE DODSON.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2019-11-20

Comments:1310 OL1 - Dr. Dodson is very passionate about this subject. He definitely knows his material and if he doesn't know something, he will tell you. I took this course this past summer and even though it was a little difficult for me to balance two online classes, you should have no problem with this course as long as you follow the timeline, read the material and study. His tests come straight from the book and he follows multiple choice testing as well as short answer essay questions. The tests were average. I would highly recommend taking Dr. Dodson.  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2019-07-28

Comments:1350 - Professor Dodson is a great guy who cares about his students. If you pay attention to the lectures, you should do well in the class. He made a really boring subject pretty fun because of his dry humor and subtle nods at the fact that none of the students really wanted to be there. Definitely take his class.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2019-04-06

Comments:Rel 1310 - The best teacher I had. The class was easy. He gives you everything you need to know even if you are not religous or come from a religous background it is more than possible to get a B or A  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-12-17

Comments:1310 - Easiest scriptures professor you will ever take!!!! The tests are straight off the PPT's and there are very few readings for quizzes. Before every class you have to submit reading questions from a few textbooks and sometimes you will have a reading quiz. Made A's on all the tests and studied max 2 days before the test. Would suggest studying 3 to 4 days prior just because it is a lot of information for the test, but nothing too challenging. He makes the class fun and enjoyable, but the course is VERY hard to get into.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-12-11

Comments:Scriptures - The easiest scriptures professor by far. He gives a bit of homework every week that needs to be completed before every class period but definitely worth it because of the ease of the tests. Also he boosts up your lowest test grade ten points if you do the extra credit.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-12-08

Comments:REL1310 - Dr. Dodson is very kind and approachable. He is patient and genuinely cares about his students. He works hard to make sure everyone in the class understands what he is teaching. His notes are laid out in a very clear manner. His tests are very fair and representative of my knowledge. The homework, though it can take awhile, has deepened my understanding not only within the class, but with the Bible as a whole. Overall, Dr. Dodson is an amazing professor and I would recommend anyone take him!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-11-26

Comments:1310 - I love Dr. Dodson! I didn't find the class very interesting, but he is very passionate about the material and really cares about his students. The tests aren't bad if you study the lecture notes well, they're word for word the test questions/answers.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-11-15

Comments:1350 - Dodson makes this class super easy. Class is pretty important to attend because his lectures are EXACTLY word-for-word what is on the exam. I am a religion minor BUT anyone can do well in this class. I legit would just makes quizlet notecards for all the blanks on his powerpoints (ended up being about 80 cards per exam) and then I would be good to go. Plus, he does an extra credit assignment where you add 10 points to any exam. With that I ended up with a 100 average on the exams. Soooo easy. Pls take him. Love u dodson  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-11-06

Comments:1310 & 1350 - Dr. Dodson is an absolute breath of fresh air. For one, he isn't a difficult professor at all; he's not as easy as Sadler (don't take him, he's a lazy lecturer) but he is also far less challenging than most other Scriptures and Heritage professors. You'll find him to be a good balance of fairness and knowledgeable lecturing, so if you want to get something out of this course Dodson is your guy. He gives 3 class exams and a final; no drops, but almost always a 10-point extra credit opportunity. The reading is usually not too lengthy and the homework is easy, and if you actually do the reading the quizzes too will be a breeze. I don't know how people fail this course. With a little bit of work you should get a B+ or A- easily, and a bit more than that for an A (93% or higher). I also think he's a lot of fun to learn from - never droning, and always engaging. Take Dodson, you'll be glad you did, and then take him again for Heritage!  - Grade In Class:A

The tests are literally just over the powerpoint blanks so if you take notes in class you're set. I literally just made flashcards of the power point blanks the night before each test and did not study for the final until the day of, because again, it's all powerpoint  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Prof. Dodson is absolutely a joy to take a class from. Like others have noted, he kind of reminds you of a dad-like figure. He clearly loves lecturing and cracking jokes that only he laughs at because nobody is really paying attention. He's light hearted and I think he understands that we're all just trying to get through this requirement. He does assign quite a bit of work (reading questions and online quizzes), but the reading questions are graded on completion and effort, not actual correct-ness, and the content of the quizzes is straight from the reading assignments. I would usually spend a few hours doing all of the questions and quizzes for the section at one time, and then I wouldn't have any work for that class for multiple weeks. If you take Dodson, you do have to go to class and fill in his powerpoint note slides or at least have a friend who will send them to you. His exams are nearly word for word what is given in the power points, but you do have to fill them in yourself as he is lecturing because he never posts the filled in ones. I did not realize this, and ended up with a low B on my first exam because I was wasting my time trying to take notes by hand. Bring your computer, fill in the blanks as he lectures, and do other work while he goes on tangents, then make a quizlet of all the things you filled in and you will get an A on the tests. There is also extra credit offered. Overall, a great professor who obviously loves what he's teaching and tries to have fun with it. I'm taking him again for Heritage.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1310 - Dodson is literally the best teacher for Scriptures! He is hilarious in an adorable Dad way (seriously he makes so many Dad jokes), and he is just a really nice person! His class was one of my favorites this semester, even though I went into it thinking I wasn't going to like it. He's a engaging teacher who made the class interesting, and from the horror stories I have heard from my friends who took other Professors, he is one of the best to have. His class is pretty easy... We had 3 tests (50 question multiple choice), reading questions due before every class (honestly not that bad), quizzes like once or sometimes twice a week based off of the reading for the reading questions, and a one page outline for an article he had us read. Nothing hard. Plus he gives you 2 extra credit opportunities over the semester if you need to bump your grade a little. His class was very well organized, he puts everything on canvas ahead of time (which was very helpful). He provides fill in the blank lecture notes, so all you have to do is print it off and fill it in during class (or do it on your laptop). His tests come directly from his lectures and nothing else, so it's nice having those notes to go back to. Personally I found it really easy to end the semester with 99, I put in more effort at the beginning of the semester, but even then I never spent more than 2-3 hours per week outside of class doing homework or studying. Just do the work and definitely go to class and you'll do great!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 3311-Gospels - Dr Dodson is amazing. Not much else really needs to be said. He is hilarious and engaging, and the class is super fun and interesting. Tests are easy, he makes a review guide which is essentially the test, and tells you the essay topic ahead of time. Only one paper, which he is super helpful with. Easily one of the best religion profs I've had as a religion major!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Scriptures - I wish he was my uncle or dad or something. He is SO nice. He is funny in a lowkey way. Dodson is always willing to help out and accommodate situations. I had an emergency half way through the semester and he helped me work around it. He is such a great person. Best professor I have ever had in my 3.5 years at Baylor. There are quizzes often, but they are easy. My friends took other professors that were much harder. TAKE DODSON EVERY TIME!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Dodson is great! He is a very active and funny lecturer. There is reading and quizzes outside of class but nothing that isn't manageable. His tests are very easy if you spend just a few minutes reviewing!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1310 - Dr. Dodson is the best prof you can probably take for this course. His class is structured very well with reading questions due before every class (Not too hard) and an online quiz at home that is due once a week or so. In class, he uses a powerpoint that he posts online with fill in the blanks that makes it easy to listen to what he is trying to say. The tests were 60% of the grade and there were each 50 question Multiple choice. Dodson tests directly from his in class notes, so it is important to go to each class. There were also two essays, which were basically just responses to 2 papers on biblical problems. Some readings were long while others were short. This class will probably take 6-8 hours of outside studying a week to get an A. You can do it.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1310 - Dr. Dodson is a really nice man. He makes a boring class interesting by including his own personal drawings and jokes during lectures. For homework, we had reading and related questions, but they were not difficult. There were two short essays based on articles we had to read. The quizzes were on canvas and not difficult. The tests were not bad as long as I knew the powerpoint lecture notes (the hardest part was the quotations from the bible). They are all multiple choice. Overall, I really enjoyed Dr. Dodson because he was funny, kind, knowledgeable, and fair.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Don't let my grade deceive you. I fought very hard to bring that up from a C mid-semester. The class starts out very easy then it hits you like a brick. You MUST put several hours per night to do the readings or you will fail the nightly quizzes. They are very different from the questions on the reading guides. He is way harder than the comments lead on. He is a super nice guy, he will even try to crack a joke, no one will laugh then tell everyone its a joke and laugh at it. There are 2 essays which kinda suck but arent that bad. The tests are pretty hard unless you really study. I got a 50 on my second one and did everything i could to try to salvage my grade. I studied more than 20 hours for the next test, even watching movies on the unit to understand it better and managed a 98 on the next test which is what is saving my grade. I wouldnt advise taking unless you have to. I just wasnt expecting the workload that came with this class.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2017-04-18

Comments:REL 1350 - This class is fairly easy and Dodson keeps it that way. Tests are primarily from powerpoints and all of them are availible on canvas. Reading quizzes are not too hard and you get four drops. I personally found the class boring, but other than that there are no real drawbacks to this professor. Not a GPA risk teacher and a genuinely polite guy.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - I LOVE Dr. Dodson! He is an incredible professor that wants you to learn the material. I feel like I learned a ton from him. He gives you extra credit opportunities to boost your grade and drops around three-four quizzes. If you attend lecture and take good notes, you will do well on the exams. If you do the readings, you will do well on the quizzes. Take Dodson!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL1310 - Dodson is hilarious! He makes a boring class more fun. All of his tests are straight off of his powerpoints and all of his quizzes are online. Loved this class and it was easy!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1310 - Christian Scriptures with Dodson was amazing-- by far my favorite class because Dodson made it interesting and I was able to learn a ton with not a ton of effort. The workload is okay - there are reading questions for each class but the answers are straight out of the Access Bible and Engaging Christian Scriptures textbook. Every couple of classes there would be reading quizzes that were very detail oriented but definitely do-able as long as you read. Tests were pretty easy as long as you study the notes- most of the test questions were word for word from the notes. Dodson posts his powerpoints on Canvas and you definitely should use them because he has blanks that you fill in which are the test questions --> makes your life very easy. For tests, just make flashcards for each powerpoint, and even though there can be a ton, they will totally help you get an A or B. I know that scheduling can be hard, but my word of advice would be to not take Scriptures unless you can take Dodson.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-11-21

Comments:1310 - Dodson's class is super easy, as long as you put forth the smallest amount of effort. However, his class is dreadfully boring. He goes into so much depth on the smallest pieces of information and there is usually no conclusion to this tangent. He does try to crack jokes, I usually had to contain the laughs to myself, but most do not laugh. Just read and study for the tests and you will get an A.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-04-19

Comments:1310 - He is the nicest professor ever. His tests require a fair amount of studying but if you make a quizlet from the powerpoint slides (they have blanks that you have to fill out in class so go to class) you will be totally fine. There are a couple of tricky questions. The final is non-comprehensive which is a blessing. I enjoyed class and he only covers what is important and nothing of unnecessary excess. I went to his office hours once and he wasn't there but I wouldn't gauge his availability off of my experience because it was like the 2nd week of classes so he probably thought no one would show up anyways. The reading questions as well as the quizzes do require you to read so you can't skip out on that and wing the quizzes. The reading isn't bad though especially compared to other classes. Definitely take Dodson if you can!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-02-12

Comments:1350 - Dr. Dodson's Christian Heritage course is easy and straightforward. He takes attendance and teaches directly from his powerpoint slides. He uploads slides with fill in the blank terms and definitions. I was absent for a majority of the course and still had no problem making a good grade on the exams. Dodson is very understanding and gives out extra credit and makeups for special circumstances. You have no reason to fail this class, TAKE HIM!  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1310 - Take Dodson! He is by far the best scriptures professor! The quizzes and reading questions are easy because you don't really have to read. The tests are based off of the powerpoint notes from class. The essays are super easy and there are only 3. AND he gives lots of extra credit! If you put forth 1 hour of work each week, you should easily get and A.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Dr. Dodson is a great guy who does his best to make the material interesting for students. Requires readings from the Bible and another book each class, typically with a set of reading questions but they're not terribly long. He has reading quizzes to complete on blackboard about once a week but if you've done the readings you should be prepared. Tests are only over lectures, are multiple choice, and aren't difficult if you study. He offers two extra credit opportunities as well. Dodson made this class interesting and fun.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2015-01-03

Comments:REL 1310 - Dodson is really funny in that he tries to make the class lively. He's young (and tries to be hip) and he's a great lecturer. The tests are REALLY straightforward and he only tests you on the lecture information. There are online quizzes that are ten questions, but they are incredibly easy. The quizzes are based on the readings. There are also reading questions which he randomly (yes, randomly) takes up. This class is very easy, and the final is not comprehensive.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Dodson is great! He is passionate about the topic and keeps the students interested. He lectures using a powerpoint that has some blanks in it, which you can print off before class so that you can fill them in when he teaches. His tests are straight from the power points/his lecture. He assigns daily reading but that material is not on the test unless he lectures over it. It is easy to get a 100 on the online quizzes. He has 2 extra credit opportunities, and is always very open to questions. I wish I could take him for Heritage but he is full. Strongly recommend Dodson!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Easy A. The tests are straight from the power points, but you actually really need to know them well to do well on the tests. What makes his class easy is all the extra credit he gives out.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Where to even begin...TAKE DODSON. He is literally the best professor I've ever had at Baylor. He is funny, witty, smart, and caring. You will learn a lot in this class- and get an easy A. What more could you want? He offers so much extra credit that you literally have to try to not get an A in this class. I put in probably 15% effort and I have a high A in the class, plus I've learned a lot! What a great combo. Absolutely take Dodson.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Dr. Dodson is a pretty good teacher and really loves the Bible, but isn't great at answering questions in class. It was also very difficult to remain interested in class as he simply teaches from powerpoint. One reason why I prefer Dodson is that he requires less work than the majority of professors. You are supposed to complete readings before every class period, but Dodson understands that the majority of students don't actually read them. The majority of your grade will come from his exams. One of the things I like about Dodson is that his tests are typically good representations of the grade that you deserve. Dodson generally sticks to the more relevant, big picture questions. His tests are not difficult to get good grades on if you study. Lastly, Dr. Dodson has you take 12 online quizzes throughout the year. It's super easy to get 100% on each of them, and he drops the lowest two quiz grades. Long story short, Dodson is one of the easiest, nicest, and most knowledgeable of the Religion professors. I took him for both Scriptures and Heritage and I strongly recommend you do the same.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350- Heritage - I, as many other reviewers for this class, LOVE Dodson. He is very goofy and makes class entertaining. There are daily readings that are about 5 pages long and are not difficult at all. Many times it is not necessary to even read unless its a quiz day. Quizzes are 10 questions taken on blackboard. With the small amount of reading it is very easy to use your book. Tests were 100% do-able. I studied a lot of the time the night before and made A's. Class notes are taken on fill in the blank power points. If you miss a day it isn't hard to catch up if a friend can help you with notes. I really have enjoyed this class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - TAKE DODSON!!!! This was the easiest class I have ever had. He is awesome in class, tells jokes and does his best to make it interesting. I learned a ton, and did almost no work. The reading questions could be a pain, but I turned in less than half and only had to get a 67 on the final to get an A. Just do well on the online quizzes (which are super easy) and study like an hour for the tests and you will ace this class. The tests are straight off his powerpoints and super simple questions. You have to fill in the blanks on his powerpoints, but I did this while setting my fantasy lineup. Just halfway pay attention and you won't have to study. He also offers extra credit up to half a letter grade. Take him and you won't have to join you friends when they complain about Religion  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Dr. Dodson is the best professor. The attitude he has in class is what solidifies how awesome his class is. The tests are from the power points, the quizzes are fairly easy, and the reading isn't bad. BUT, that is not why his class is so awesome. He is a very interesting lecturer, he makes you think about what he teaches, and he is awesome to talk to. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1310 - I loved Professor Dodson. The rest of my friends who took Christian Scriptures with other teachers hated it, but it was one of my best classes. Dodson had the class laughing constantly and tried his hardest to entertain everyone. The tests were self explanatory and had I studied I could have gotten an A. The only homework for the most part is reading questions. They're assigned after every lecture but he only collects 9. It's unannounced but you can usually tell when it's coming. Of the 9 he collects he drops the lowest grade. There are also 12 online quizzes but they're very easy if you do the reading and he drops the lowest 2 I believe. Over all, I would definitely suggest Dodson and I will for sure be taking him for heritage.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2012-12-08

Comments:1310 - Dr. Dodson is a pretty good teacher. He knows what he is talking about and really loves the Bible, but he is often unhelpful when questions arise in class. He doesn't do a great job of answering a lot of questions, but he does his best. I didn't particularly like the subject material of this class in general. I love the Bible, but the approach that Baylor takes in teaching the Scriptures was disappointing to say the least. It was also very difficult to remain interested in class as he simply teaches from powerpoint. Overall, I like Dodson. As a result, I made sure to sign up for his Christian Heritage section. One reason why I prefer Dodson is that he requires less work than the majority of professors. You are required to do Scripture readings and answer questions before every class period, but Dodson selects only the passages relevant to that particular lecture so that you don't have to waste time reading extraneous details. Though having to turn in reading questions may sound like a hassle or intimidating, they are very easy. It's essentially impossible to get below 100% on any of them. Additionally, Dodson drops the lowest of your grades for questions, meaning that you can skip one. The majority of your grade will come from his exams. One of the things I like about Dodson is that his tests are typically good representations of the grade that you deserve. Many professors will include trick questions or questions that are not pertinent to the information learned in class, but Dodson generally sticks to the more relevant, big picture questions. His tests are not difficult to get good grades on if you study diligently. Lastly, Dr. Dodson requires that you take 12 online quizzes throughout the year. You take these through BlackBoard and get 15 minutes to complete them. It normally takes about 3 minutes, and it is very very easy to get 100% on each of them. If you do mess up on a couple of the quizzes, it is not a problem as he drops the lowest two quiz grades. Long story short, Dodson is one of the easiest, nicest, and most knowledgeable of the Religion professors. I strongly recommend taking him for Scriptures.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2012-12-06

Comments:1310 - Awesome teacher. He gives 12 quizzes, they're all online and it gives you 15min which is plenty enough time to get a 100. There are reading questions for each lecture which is about 24, but he only collects 12 and won't tell you which so you'll have to do them all. But he drops the lowest one so it's kay if you miss one and his readings are shorter than most other teachers. There are 3 exams and a final, and the SI gives a test review for each one and a practice final. It's better to write down the notes instead of filling out the powerpoint on your computer because you'll easily get bored. He's goofy but hilarious and I would take him for all my religion classes.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2012-11-28

Comments:1302 - He seriously is a great teacher. I've heard others complain about how they dread going to their religion class, but he makes this class enjoyable. If you pay attention to the lectures and read what he assigns, there is no way you can fail. Basically everything on the tests come from his lectures.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1310 - Highly, highly recommend taking him. Easily my favorite professor yet. One of the nicest guys you will ever meet, let alone get taught by, he is a former pastor so he definitely knows his stuff. He has a great sense of humor that will keep the class entertaining, and the class itself is very easy if you keep up with the reading and pay attention in class. He does assign reading every class, but it's usually pretty short, and then has reading questions over the reading, along with a quiz every now and then, but both of these are quite simple. The tests are straight from the notes, and very easy (The lowest grade I got was a 96.) Again, highly recommend taking him (For christian scriptures)  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Religion 1310 - Professor Dodson reminds me of a pastor and that is because he was a former pastor. He really has a heart for teaching and for the word of God. Dodson's lectures, were at times, inspirational sermons! I recommend this Professor because of his easier workload. His tests involve multiple choice questions and he has quizzes most class times that are a couple multiple choice questions. As long as you pay attention in class and listen to his lectures, you will do great!  - Grade In Class:A

Class is simple and no one should ever get below a B.  - Grade In Class:A

There are lots of reading multiple choice pop quizzes, so try to at least know what the reading is about and the important points. Comments:1350 - DODSON IS GREAT! The class layout is like this: 12 quizzes, 3 tests including the final (which is not cumulative), 2 quizzes get dropped, and there is nightly reading. It generally isn't too long but there are a few nights where you might have to read up to 25 pages. Dodson is extremely engaging and his lectures are rarely ever boring. He loves to crack jokes and get his students involved in discussion. The class is not difficult, but that isn't why you should take Dodson. You will actually learn in this class. You do have a reading assignment and questions every night but its very simple. There are usually 12 quizzes over the readings throughout the semester but he drops two. There are three essays that are graded by the grad assistant but they were graded very fairly. Dodson was always very willing to do what ever the class needed him to do to understand the material. Comments:1350 - Dr. Dodson is a really nice professor. I attribute my poor grade to lack of dedication to the course work outside of class...mainly lack of preparation for exams. You have a total of 12 quizzes, 3 exams including the final, 5 1 page response papers. Extra credit varies from class to class. Quizzes are over reading material only and exams are over lecture material only. He is really helpful, though I highly recommend that you study for the exams since there are only 3 so each kind of covers a lot of material.  - Grade In Class:C

The tests are directly from the powerpoints and the reading quizes are 5 questions and usually one of them is about who won the football game or who is the best teacher. One time, he gave a quiz and gave us 3 answers. He is very goofy and likes to tell corny jokes. He also assigns 3 essays, which are reviews over an article. 2 of the essays are require, 1 is for extra credit. Take Dr. Dodson!  - Grade In Class:A

There's a fair amount of work, including daily reading questions which may or may not be taken up as a quiz grade. Comments:Christian Scriptures - Awesome, teacher. I was very glad I had him. The class is usually pretty interesting, and he tells cheesy jokes which'll make you chuckle. His tests are all multiple choice and only cover material he talked about in class, not the readings. He has 12 quizes randomly throughout the year, so make sure you read. Occasionally, he'll collect the reading questions and give those as one of the quiz grades. He'll drop the lowest two. He assigns 3 essays throughout the semester, but they are somewhat interesting and only take about an hour a piece.   - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - Dodson is a really good teacher. His lectures are interesting, and he is passionate about the subject. There are 12 quizzes, two of which are dropped. I got sick a couple of times during the semester and missed a few, but I still got a B+ because the tests are so easy. If you study his powerpoint notes and skim the reading you'll be fine. Take this class!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:Christian Scriptures - He was funny, easy to talk to and always availible. The summer workload is pretty heavy but thats due to his need to get through a semester's workload in a three week period. I highly recommend taking him for your religion course, this is my second try at Scriptures and his encouragement has made the course all the better for me.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1350 - Dodson is a good professor who gives plenty of chances to earn extra points. If you read all the material, an A is easily attainable.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:REL 1350 - Dodson's a pretty nice guy. His accent is pretty funny and he can be a goober, but he's a genuinely nice guy that'll never get angry. He'll let you out of class early sometimes too if it's nice out and you convince him it's time to go. The quizzes are kind of hit or miss if you do the reading or not, because it can be a bit specific. I didn't read much and usually got 4 or 5 out of 5 right, and he also took a few attendence quizzes. There should be 13 in all, and he'll drop 3. There are 3 tests including the final and they're a bit random, but he'll kind of tell you what you need to know and they aren't too too hard. The class is really boring and sometimes he'll have powerpoints for notes and sometimes he'll lecture by writing strange phrases on the board which are pretty difficult to decipher. There's also a group project which we didn't put too much effort into and got an A. Overall, not too hard a class, but not really a breeze either. I'd recommend trying to listen to what he's saying in class and actually doing the reading, as his notes are generally from the reading.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Religion 1310 & 135- - I had Dr. Dodson for both Scriptures and Heritage. He is a really, really sweet guy. I loved his teaching style and I learned a lot in Scriptures... which is why I decided to take him again for Heritage. However, he was a horrible Heritage professor. He stopped giving us powerpoint notes and made us take notes based on the random words he wrote on the board and bits of information he would say during class. But when the tests came around, he couldn't remember what we had actually covered during class. Also, for Heritage you have to read like 50 pages of the most boring book every night for his daily quizzes. Basically, Dodson is a great professor and an easy A for Scriptures... but you will have to work harder (read a ton, actually take good notes that you can understand, and do a really stupid group project/paper) for your A in his Heritage class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310, 1350 - Dr. Dodson is a nice guy, but a terrible professor. He can teach Scriptures very well, but heritage is a different story. He forgets that he has not taught certain things before the tests. He rambles in class. The class is very easy, but in heritage I do not believe he understands the material any better than the students. He told us that he did not like philosophy, but heritage deals with a great deal of philosophy. He is wonderful in scriptures and teaches it like Sunday School!! He is the easiest "A" at Baylor. Take him if you are pre-med or have another hard major, but do not expect to learn anything more than who adam and ever were!!!!   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310, 1350 - He's the type of professor you would want for all your classes. He's very passionate about what he teaches and makes sure that the class understands before moving on. Tests and quizzes are pretty simple if you pay attention in class and study just a little. The readings for the class is not hard and most of the time, reading the summaries or titles of each paragraph will do.   - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - Dodson is ok. He made corny jokes that personally drove me nuts, but most people found them funny. The quizzes were easy if you read, and not too hard if you didn't read. The exams were always harder than I expected. As long as you paid attention to his lectures and studied your notes, you'd do ok. Not too boring of a class. We were supposed to do 4 essays, but he made the fourth extra credit in the end.   - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1302 - Dr. Dodson is sooooooo nice. Definitely get him! There are 13 quizzes but he drops the lowest 3. There are 3 essays and the last one is for extra credit. The tests and the final were extremely easy. He makes the corniest jokes sometimes and it is hard not to pay attention in class. He also makes the effort to learn your name and get to know you. it was my favorite class last semester.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - He is an awesome teacher. He always makes njokes and gives you silly questions on quiz which are strictly over readings. Exams are over the lectures in class which are easy to follow. You take 13 quiz but they are soooo easy! You also have to write 4 essys which his TA grades. I would def take him.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1310 - Dodson knows his material well. He's funny (in that bad pun kind of way) and I stayed awake for his 8:00 class. Do the reading. The tests are pretty easy, just take your notes well and you'll be fine. Overall an easy class but you learn a lot!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Rel 1310 - 13 quizzes, he drops the lowest 3. BE SURE TO READ! That was the only reason why I didn't get an A, I was 2-3 points from it. He offered us an extra credit essay, worth up to 15 points. There were 4 essays 3-4 pages long, basically reviewing articles. Some of them were interesting, but then there were the others, which were the hardest to get through.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1350 - Great Professor. Only thing i didnt like was when the kids would do bad on their quizzes they would go piss and moan to him about it, and then somehow he would let them make it up with the next one. Read and you will do fine.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:Heritage - GET HIM! GET HIM! GET HIM! I've sat in the same seat in the same classroom all year! I took him for C. Scriptures and C. Heritage. and he is BY FAR THE GREATEST. He tells jokes, he's very interactive with the class and pretty much assigns no homework! You have 13 quizzes but he drops 3 and you can make 100 on everyone cuz there are always funny bonuses! And his tests are based on his lectures. Study the notes and you got it made. I GOT A 100 ON A TEST? Who gets 100s in college? (Business Major)  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310/1350 - Mr. Dodson is AWESOME! He is the nicest guy. His tests aren't hard because (like others have said) you just have to pay attention and study your notes. Overall his lectures are more generalized than other religion professors--he doesn't require you to know tons of details or memorize dates or anything. I appreciated this because most of us are not religion majors. I learned a lot and enjoyed his class as well.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Good teacher, ok class. I enjoyed his class because he was very heartfelt about teaching and the students knowing the material. His tests are over the lectures, quizzes over readings. There are 4 papers also but they are not too bad, even for me, and I am a very bad writer. I found his tests to be very easy because the material is straight from lecture and his notes. Pay attention in class, I found that listening helps prepare you for the tests better than just studying the notes. The workload is light, especially compared to other 1310 profs. I recommend him.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Christian Scriptures - Derek is a great guy and is very helpful. He is probably the best prof I've had. If you do the reading and pay a little bit of attention in class, you'll get an A.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1310 - Dodson is the best professor I had this semester. He makes the material very easy and has random quizes over the reading material. Some reading assignments are quite long and sometimes boring but that material is not on the tests. He feels that the quizes show him if you are reading which is mostly true. Some questions you have to have a good memory for them but he likes giving bonus questions on them. His tests are not that hard but there are always a few questions that are pretty in depth but his tests only cover his lectures. He is really a great prof and I would highly recommend taking his class.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1310 - Mr. Dodson is an awesome teacher. He totally knows what he's talking about and he wants you to understand it. He'll go out of his way in order for you to understand the information. He's always available and offers two chances for extra credit worth up to 15 points. Scriptures was my favorite class this semester.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - He is a really nice man and a good teacher. The class started off very easy, but he realized it was too easy and began to make the class harder. Even so, the class was still managable. He loves it when students ask questions and wants to help in anyway he can. The tests began easy, but when he changed, they required a decent amount of studying. Although he was a preacher, his lectures are not designed that way. He gives all views and allows you to believe what you want to believe. You have homework every night, but he doesn't pick it up all the time. He chooses 13 days to pick up the homework and 13 days to give you pop quizzes and he will drop the 3 lowest grades. I would strongly recommend this teacher but know that it will not be a blow off class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Mr. Dodson was a very good teacher. The class is designed so that everyone can get an A. He assigns two optional extra credit essays worth 15 pts each. The quizzes are easy and test are to. Take him if you can!!!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Christian Scriptures - Mr. Dodson is an awesome teacher! This was definitely my favorite class this semester. He cares about his students and strives to make everyone understand what is being taught. His tests are not hard at all and there are extra credit opportunities if you need them. Overall, it is a great class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:New Testament - Mr. Dodson is a wonderful teacher and he makes his class very managable. His New Testament class was great. You have one quiz a week but if you read they are easy (sometimes they are easy even if you don't read). His tests are the greatest though, I made a 100 on the first and high A's on all the rest. They cover exactly the review sheet he gives you so if you fill it out and know the info on it you will do great.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1311 - Great teacher! The workload is not bad, quizzes are no problem with a little preparation and he is very easy to get along with. Tests are very straightforward. I highly recommend this prof.  - Grade In Class:A
