Comments:Precal - DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. I probably had the worst experience I have ever had in a math class in my life. I have never been the best at math and I know that. When I registered with my advisor before my freshman year I did not think that it would matter who my professors were and didn't know to look on ratemyprofessor/ bu books. My advisor set me up for the worst. I walked in on the first day to Pisors, rude, spiteful, and overall mean. She teaches the class as if you have already taken Precal before, apparently, that was a mistake on MY part for not taking it in high school. If you ask a question you basically get bullied unless she thinks it's a decent question. She grades on every little detail and if you don't do the work her way, don't bother thinking you'll pass the class.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1309 - Throughout the course I was astounded at how she was qualified to be a university professor let alone a professor at Baylor University. We are all paying an extremely high tuition to attend this school and it's unfortunate that we get the lowest quality of teaching with a professor like Mrs.Pisors. Personally, I got stuck with this professor and had no other choice, however if you can choose another professor don't choose her. She has an extremely negative vibe and does not act like she wants to be present at all. My guess is she still has her job because students are still receiving decent grades. However, for those reading, please note that these 'decent' grades were not received at all by the help of Mrs.Pisors. Many of my classmates and I showed up to the supplemental instruction (SI) twice a week in order to actually learn the material that was suppose to be learned inside of class. I give all credit of my grade to my SI teacher who was a junior. Avoid her at all cost, if you get stuck with her, grind the SI sessions.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:Calculus 1309 - I have had some horrific teachers before, but Pisors takes the trophy for being the absolute worst. I have never felt so demeaned in my life. She is the rudest most condescending person I have ever met. Now to get to her teaching methods. For one she doesn't know the information she is teaching and two when students don't understand the concepts being taught she treats us as if we are idiots. She never gives us enough time to actually write down the notes. She grades way too harshly. On my first test I got every single answer right, but didn't do the work on the test "her way" and got a 76. Its truly frustrating because I went to every tutoring session and every office hour available and she did not help in the slightest. I got a A in pre-cal my first semester with a different professor and got a D this semester in calculus. Just showing how having an old tenured professor who doesn't give a crap about their job can affect our grade. I am not an unreasonable person if I don't know what I'm doing then I'll admit it, but I knew the information and still got a horrible grade. I can 100% say without a doubt, DO NOT TAKE HER AS A PROFESSOR!!!!! -100/10 recommendation.  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:1309 - First things first, please just take another professor. Her class is not worth the time or effort. I did end up getting a good grade, but not without long hours of studying and lots of tears. I am generally pretty good at picking up math concepts, so I did not struggle with that. Instead, I spent hours on end studying was how EXATLY she graded. She wants things a particular way, and she WILL fail you even if every one of your answers are right. Do not take any of her tests without studying, or you will most likely fail. I heard other professors are not nearly as picky as her, so just take them for the sake of your GPA (and sanity). Like I said, I am decent at math, so I got by. If you struggle with math, I can not tell you enough how much I do not recommend her. For those of you stuck with her... just study study study. And maybe, just maybe, you can make it out with a decent grade.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Ideas in Mathematics - This class was AWFUL when it is supposed to be a math pre-requisite. She is not helpful at all, when you miss class she will still give you a 0 for the homework even though she never replies to emails when you ask what chapter to do for homework. Then, as if that was not bad enough, she has homework quizzes, where you are supposed to copy the answers she puts from the board from the questions in the homework. Not bad right? Well when you miss class, miss homework cause she won't tell you which ones to do, and seem to only have the homework for chapters she didn't even grade, then the quizzes go awfully. Half the class dropped and the other half got C's. Spare your GPA and take someone else.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Comments:1301 - Dr. Pisors has two separate reputations. People see her sweet side, and people experience her not so sweet side. Dr. Pisors is a giant hit or miss. She has the biggest attitude and treats everyone like they should be fluent in mathematics. She does not know how to teach. She does not stop her lessons to give students a chance to retain the information and she ASSIGNS WORK THE LAST 5 MINUTES OF CLASS DUE AT THE END OF CLASS. I once had an exam in my next class, that I had to walk across camps for and asked if she could make the classwork she assigned 5 minutes before the end of class, due at the end of class to be due next class because I could not miss my exam, and she said to turn it in blank or not at all. She does not understand that we take other classes than her own and if you have the smallest simplest NORMAL question she replies with her famous saying, "I don't know check your syllabus" That saying "there are no stupid questions" is invalid in her classroom. I have gone to her office hours where she promised help and told me to figure it out myself and would not help me once. She told our classes to visit her office hours on our final week for any last questions. 10 students showed up @8am, when she said to, and waited 30 minutes upon her no arrival. She is also extremely lazy. She does not give test reviews and she takes off petty points. Don't ever forget to add your units or else.. -10 points. She only gave 2 test reviews and she forgot both times to give us the answers to check our work, oh FUN FACT, on both reviews classmates emailed her and corrected her own test review. There was 5 questions she usually did wrong herself. I participated and never missed a single class. My assignment/quiz grades was an A but her exams are graded unfairly thus giving everyone lower grades. DO NOT TAKE her class. I am not saying this because of a bad experience, look at her ratings... it's a bad environment and she is not a professor she levels as a middle school teacher. It'd hard because she grades unfairly and confuses you. the only cool thing is that she loves Baylor so like go chat with her if you want to be Baylor's #1 fan, other than that do the Baylor education part with someone else. 0/10 recommend.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1301 - Mrs. Pisors is a sweet lady if she likes you, but she is not a very good teacher. It honestly amazes me that she is a professor here at Baylor. She does not know the material very well and commonly makes mistakes when teaching. She is consistently disrespectful to students that she does not like, and picks favorites very early in the semester. The class itself, should not be hard; it's basically seventh grade math, but she made this class incredibly challenging. When I would go in for office hours, she was not happy that I was there and often would give me a scoff or a look if I got something wrong. The homework was kind of a lot, and the tests were pretty challenging. The final was rough, so if I were you I would take a different professor.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2018-12-09

Comments:1301 - 1301 is not a difficult class, but Professor Pisors makes the class frustrating. She does not want you to question her at all, and if you miss a day of class due to hospitalization where she hands out a participation quiz she will not allow you to get the points back. Also don't forget to bring a calculator, she will not provide you one and it is quite difficult to do exponents without them  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2018-12-07

Comments:1301 - Mrs. Pisors loves her math. Although, if you do one such thing as question ANYTHING she does, you'll get major sass. She is not good at actually teaching the material and everything has to be her way. If you want to get an A in the class, you need to go to every class, do every single problem on the homework, and do not piss her off. If you can just laugh it off and get it done this class isn't bad, but if you're not a quick and patient learner, drop immediately.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1308 - Pisors is the absolute DEVIL reincarnate and I’m not exaggerating. From the get go she was extremely rude and took every opportunity possible to point out your flaws in front of the whole class. She also knows no more than any student in her class and is thus very under qualified to teach at any school, much less Baylor. On numerous occasions I had to go to her office to have her fix my test because she was absolutely incapable of grading accurately. In addition, she also required everything done her way with absolutely no exceptions. This was one of my biggest issues because despite coming to the same exact answer as she did I wouldn’t get credit. Finally, what pushed me over the edge was her threatening to “take away my right to office hours”. In my opinion this is never acceptable, especially considering how much we pay to come to Baylor. I wound up going to the Dean with my issues and, at least for the rest of the semester, she shut up  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1309 - Pisors is the worst possible teacher for MTH 1309. Trust me, I took her for 1308 and 1309. In 1308, I made an A- and was very happy with that considering it was my first college semester and had never taken Pre-Cal before. I decided to take her again for 1309 with my friend from 1308 as we figured it would be relatively similar in styles. WE WERE WRONG. She was so much worse. She was rude and judgemental every class. She did the easiest examples from the book and the tests contained problems that we had never seen before. The only grades we had were 4 tests and she dropped the lowest. I did terrible in her 1309 course after receiving an A- in 1308. The final came along and she gave us a review that I heard was the same one used for the final last year and a friend told me the review was very similar to the test. I studied for hours and days for the final only to take it and not understand a single problem as we had not been prepared. I ended up with a C and my friends failed because of her incapability of teaching and her unwillingness to do her job as a professor. I have only completed two semesters but I guarantee you that I will never have a teacher as bad as her again. DO NOT TAKE!  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:Math 1308 - Her reviews don't necessarily do her a justice. Yes, her class is probably harder than other business pre cal classes, but it's very doable. Many of the test problems come straight from the homework, so if you actually put time into your homework you will survive. I've never been a math person and going into her class I was worried because I saw these ratings, but it wasn't awful. She drops a test grade and curves each exam by 10 points!! Just make sure you show ALL your work or she will take a million points off on exams.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-04-11

Comments:2350 - I don't really know why all the ratings are so bad, because when she taught us 2350(discrete structures), it wasn't bad at all, everyone I know made a B+ or higher. She drops one exam, and add 10 points to your exams. The exams are straight off from homework, didn't even change the numbers. The only thing I didn't like is that she gives quizzes randomly but they are all pretty easy. Very helpful during office hours, helps you go through any problems you have.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-04-10

Comments:1320 - Awful teacher, she is constantly rude and only counts answers on tests that have work that matches her (extremely quick) examples in class. She is very inaccessible during or after class and honesty seems like she doesn't have a strong grasp on the material she teaches.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2018-04-03

Comments:1320 - Literally the worst professor I have ever had. She is rude and yells at the class for her math mistakes and tries to blame them on other people. Just run away or switch to another class. I'm so sorry if you have her.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Date: 2017-12-10

Comments:1308 - In all my years of school I have never had a teacher so unreasonable. If you ask a question she will roast you for it and she is the pickiest when it comes to grading. For example if you get every question right you can still potentially fail the test because of how picky she is. Despite showing all work you can still get it wrong if it's not the way she wants it. Absolutely do not take her class and if you get stuck taking her class I'm sorry.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Comments:1308- BUS Precal - Mrs. Pisors is the absolute worst teacher there is. She is a sweet old lady but whatever you do, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!! Seriously. At the beginning of the semester my class had over 30 students in it and by the end only 18 of us finished out the semester, everyone else either failed out or dropped out. She does not know how to teach, she goes through the problems on the board with an almost dead dry erase marker so you struggle to take notes. Her tests are graded way too harshly, if you do not show each and every step that you do even if it is as easy as 1+1 she will automatically subtract 10 points from your test grade. I have always been a math person, yet once I got into her class it seemed as if I was learning a foreign language. The homework was also a long list of problems out of the back of the book that she never gives you the correct answers for and therefore you do not know if you know the material or not. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2017-11-14

Comments:1308 & 1309 - I had Pisors for two semesters back to back and found out she is much better than these ratings suggest. Pre-Cal was much easier than her Calc class, however both are structured the same way. She has 4 tests but your lowest gets dropped, and a lot of daily grades, but she ends up dropping several. She gives you 10 extra points on each test, but she does grade work harshly. I don't regret taking her classes, she's a very nice lady!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2017-04-13

Comments:1309 - She is AWFUL. I thought that these reviews were exaggerating, and that she was probably fine, but NO. Don't do it. There's not much I can say that hasn't already been said. I genuinely felt like she wanted kids to fail. She was not helpful at all and made everything ridiculously hard. Avoid her at all costs!!  - Grade In Class:DROP

Date: 2017-04-10

Comments:1309 - To put it simply... I've had terrible math teachers from the dawn of time and I am able to work around them, but not with this professor. She does not explain how she would like you to format your answers on tests and for that she counts off FOR EVERYTHING. I'm talking 30+ points just because you didn't put an f(x) where she wanted it. She is very nice, but is not very helpful even if you go into her office hours. Honestly every rating on here about her being late and biased is true. Just do yourself a favor and take a different professor. #seeyainsummerschool  - Grade In Class:DROP

Comments:1308 - Ms. Pisors is a much better teacher than her rating suggests. I think she is the best pre-cal teacher in terms of preparing you for the final and actually teaching material. I struggled early in the semester and Ms. Pisors was extremely helpful in her office hours. Once you learn her grading style, getting A\\\'s on her test is relatively easy. She gives hw every night but so does every pre-cal teacher. Also the departmental final is a complete breeze because Ms. Pisors is so through in her teaching methods.   - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-12-14

Comments:Scientific Precalculus - Mrs. Pisors is not a good math teacher. She wears funny sweaters sometimes. That is the only nice thing I have to say. I mostly taught myself precalculus (with help from the fabulous tutors in the Math Lab and the free tutoring center on the ground floor of Sid Rich). Somehow I managed to come back from two failed exams. I finally went to professor Blackburn's Office Hours instead of her's for study materials. After Dana Blackburn helped me I got a 104 on the following exam and a 98 on the final.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1320 - RUN AWAY ASAP FRIENDS. This class was a no go. Please do yourself a favor and take a different teacher. the only thing helping me through this is the fact that I took AP Calc senior year. This class is really hard and I haven't learned anything. She grades everything really hard but teaches all the basic problems and gives you the level extreme problems to solve on tests. Don't take this expecting an easy A if you took percale/cal in high school. There are other teachers you should go for, not this one.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-11-21

Comments:1320 - Terrible professor that will roast you for asking a question. She always messes up problems and confuses students to the point that no one knows what is going on. Constantly is late to every class. Grades as if she gets pleasure from seeing you fail. If you would like to feel dumb take this class. I have taken precal and calculus in high school before and yet I was still not prepared for this class. Run run run away get away while you can.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2016-11-21

Comments:1308 - She is a difficult grader as she makes you write out each step and grades harshly on that. She lectures at a decent pace and provides plenty of examples. The homework is optional, but I suggest you do it as there are a few homework quizzes and some of the homework questions are on the tests. She drops your lowest test grade which helps a lot and she drops some quiz grades too. The tests ranged from 8-12 questions and she graded them quickly.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2017-04-19

Comments:1308 - ---DO NOT TAKE--- She is the most unapologetically biased grader I have ever had. Blatantly chooses favorites in the class and will give much better grades to them. Doesn't do a great job of teaching and puts you to sleep. In my class we had a horrible SI who didn't know the material, was incomprehensible, and flooded our emails. The work load is fine, but the quizzes and tests can be deceivingly difficult. There is a reason she is one of the lowest rated professors on campus.  - Grade In Class:C+

Date: 2016-11-14

Comments:1309 - I actualy have Mrs. Blackburn for this class and she is fantastic. But today she was out of town and for some reason this professor was called in to take her place for the day. Overall, he teaching style was very basic and I felt like I was in a middle school classroom, it almost felt like she was teaching basic information (it is the begining of the semester so we are reviewing BASIC algebra...) as if we were in algebra I hearing it for the first time while somehow also giving as little notes as possible... But given that there are some people in the class that need to ask questions, a more basic teaching style isnt that much of an issue. The real problem is the condecending and blatantly rude attitude she displays. During class, a student asked a question over a problem and her answer ended up confusing MORE people. I remembered a simple rule of thumb that my Pre-cal teacher taught me in highschool and determined it might help clear things up so I asked if I could share it with the class. The solution I gave was simply a different way of thinking about the problem to make solving it easier, and yet she found that it warranted backlash... When I had finished my statement, regardless of the fact that the class wide response showed my comment was well received and helpful, she decided to completely disrespect me by calling my proposal "elementary" and utterly useless. I find it ironic that even my so called "elementary" comment was far more helpful than anything she had said the entire duration of the class... If you ever have this professor, I'm sorry.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1320 - This class is not too hard if you have taken years of math in the past. She is very brief with the notes so if you have not taken advanced math in high school, it might be sort of difficult. She is a great person and loves math, but she is a little unorganized which makes it hard to know when and what is due.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2015-12-24

Comments:MTH 1320 - Rude, condescending, and just an overall awful teacher. I was always terrified to ask for help because of the way I witnessed her treating other struggling students. Any time a person needs help, she just looks at them like they're completely stupid and says "It's in the book". Please do not ever take ANY class with Pisors unless you want to feel like a worthless piece of garbage that won't amount to anything in life.  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2015-12-12

Comments:1320 - Worst math teacher I have had...ever. She's not helpful at all, I could have learned more watching Khan Academy online than waste my time and money in that class. She grades tests harder than anyone and does not even justify why or where you went wrong. She simply puts a cross through the whole problem and says its wrong. Then she takes off points from your tests with no justification and no previous knowledge of how many points that problem was worth. She only teaches half of what is actually in the chapter and leaves it up to you to figure out the rest. She is extremely strict and when you ask a question she acts like you're an idiot and expects you to know the answer. She's not understanding about anything, she is not there to help you learn, she's there to make money and leave. You will get a better understanding of math online then you will in her class. If you get her I strongly suggest you switch out of the class because the only thing it will do is drop your GPA. I took this same class last year in High School and I got an A in the class. I'm not just dumb and dont understand math. Dont waste your time and money like I did.  - Grade In Class:D

Date: 2015-11-15

Comments:1308 - I know a lot of complaining happened in class, but I didn't think the class was too hard or she had a bad approach. I didn't have another professor this semester who was so willing to spend extra time explaining things to students, answering questions, or going over examples. I guess some people think university math is going to be easier than AP math in high school? Make sure you use the tutors, ask for clarification from her or go to office hours, and you can get an A.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2015-08-06

Comments:1308 - If possible take another teacher or wait. She is very unkind and will make you feel stupid if you ask questions in class. The tests were extremely hard but most questions came from the homework. She drops your lowest test grade and takes alot of homework grades (not completion grades you have to have done them right). To make an A I had to go to outside tutoring at Sid Rich at least twice a week, do all the homework and start studying 2 weeks in advance for the final. The final test is departmental, expect to see things you have never been taught on it.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2015-06-08

Comments:1301 - Ideas in Math - I'm not really great at math, but Ideas in Mathematics is NOT supposed to be a hard class, and it was hard for me. I wouldn't recommend taking her. She isn't that good of a teacher and she is very condescending and rude when you ask for help.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2015-04-21

Comments:Math 1309 - Mrs. Pisors is not too good of a teacher. She's a nice lady and all but it kind of ends there. Her teaching style consists of her writing one problem on the board and expecting you to be able to master the concept backwards and forwards. She goes so fast that it is near impossible to understand the material. Its not like she doesn't have enough class time to explain because on most days she comes in to class late and lets us leave early. However the worst problem by a mile is her grading system. I mean it is the harshest and most unfair grading of all time. I never received an A on any test (and I had her for pre-cal and calculus) and I got every problem right on multiple occasions. She is extremely harsh when it comes down to your work. If she can't figure out how you got your answer or if you forgot to include equal signs in your work to show the mathematical steps than you will get points taken off. It is also completely possible to get the answer correct and show your steps and still get half or more of that problem wrong. She does give bonus points and she drops the lowest test but it is in no way compensating for her terrible teaching and ridiculously difficult grading. I would not recommend her.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2015-02-04

Comments:1320 Pre Calc - Mrs. Pisors class proved to be a challenge. At times, the class as a whole was frustrated with her, but I felt that overall, her class prepared did good things for me. I've never been good at math but I always felt confident going into her tests. Her teaching style is very uniform and she is extremely organized and structured. She is strict and gives a lot of homework but if you do what she says, she prepares you for the final and the next year of math.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2015-01-03

Comments:Math 1301 - Ideas in Math - DO NOT TAKE HER. She isn't helpful at all and doesn't care about her students. She makes you do MyMathLabs for homework and the questions on them are 10x harder than anything she teaches in the class. Her test are pretty straight forward. However, her final is cumulative and you have to have 2 pages worth of formulas memorized. It's terrible. As a music major, I do not care about math and this final was by far my hardest. All of the other Math 1301 profs provide the formulas for you, because they actually understand. She does not. It's very frustrating. Again, do not take her.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:Ideal of Math - She is absolutely terrible!!! She is an unflexible, uncaring, unreasonable, and ignorant teacher!!!! She is a horrible teacher!!! I have heard her say "I will not reteach this" in class several times. She does not know her material. I missed a problem on the mymathlab because she did not the equation to figure out the problem and therefore didnt teach us the equation! This sounds outrageous but it is not. She does not care about her students. She does the bare minimum work. She makes you feel like an idiot if you ask a question. The fact that she is a teacher at Baylor makes Baylor as a whole look bad! If you get her class, IMMEDIATELY SWITCH!!!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1301 - SHE SUCKS, BEWARE. she makes you do these math labs that sometimes take 3 hours and are 10 times harder than the tests. You should be scared. THE SOUND OF HER VOICE MAKES ME WANT TO KICK CHILDREN. I am sitting here right now trying to do one of her stupid math labs and I have stated these following phrases multiple times. "kill me" "I'm going to kill her" "I'm going to die" "I'm actually upset right now" "i give up" "stop this madness" "college is hard" "(tear)". That is all, never take her. Comments:Bus PreCal - From the beginning you are informed to do all homework, use SI and practice, practice, practice. This course was not easy for me. I did what I was told and visited Mrs. Pisors to clarify what I was learning. Her grading style requires that you demonstrate details in all your problems, you will be deducted for missed steps. I could not disagree more with the statement she wants you to fail. Mrs. Pisors wants you to succeed but she will not roll over for you, you must earn it by working. Most of the tests problems are exactly the ones you do for homework with the exception of the final which is departmental. Extra credit is available but it is up to you. You oversleep and miss bonus points? How is she responsible for your sleep patterns? Good at math or not so good in math, when you finish business precal with Mrs. Pisors you will be prepared for Business Calculus. BTW I withdrew my first attempt with Mrs. Pisors. Came back with a different mindset and work ethic the second semester and with all the tools available to me including my own common sense rocked precal. Taking Business Calculus with Mrs. Pisors also. Wish me luck.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1308 - Ms. Pisors is a VERY nice person. A lot of people write bad things about her because they're not willing to put the time in to pass her class. I'm absolutely horrible at math and still managed to get by. She gives plenty of extra credit opportunities and doing the homework helps your grade a lot. I'm taking her again for 1309  - Grade In Class:C+

Date: 2014-06-16

Comments:1304 - I don't know why Pisors gets such bad ratings. I loved her. She knows how to teach and she explains it thoroughly. She gives you points when you do these assignments she hands out in class which you can do with a partner and her tests are literally the EXACT SAME questions she tells you to focus on before the test from the departmental pre-cal problem list. Her grading is pretty much what any math professor grading will be like. As for the final, well that is a departmental thing so she has no control over that and it's difficult, like REALLY hard but i'm pretty sure she curves.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:MTH 1321 - This teacher sucks. Her grading is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen in my entire life, no exaggeration. She genuinely does not want her students to get above a C in this class. If you get her, drop the class.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1320 - WORST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD. DO NOT TAKE HER!! Homework grades were from myMathLab- these were super easy. Her tests on the other hand are graded REALLY hard. I actually went into each test understanding the material perfectly. Thought for sure I would make an A- I get the grade back and it's an F. EVEN THOUGH ALL MY ANSWERS WERE RIGHT. Homework questions are fairly similar to the ones on tests- however, she picks the hard ones. If you like to do problems your way and not the teacher's way don't take her. Seriously. She acts like she's nice in class but she is really quite rude. Went to her office hours to ask for help and she gave me vague answers that made me feel dumb. If you end up having to take her class, Don't EVER skip. I accidentally overslept one class period and missed a pop quiz that would have boosted my next test grade 20 points. She does give a lot of opportunities at the end of the semester for bonus points. Overall, busted my butt to get a C- wasn't worth it. This lady cannot teach and she talks wayyyy too fast. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1309 - This lady is a terrible professor. She is very unorganized and just terrible at teaching in general. She won't ever tell you what your grades are if you ask her, she'll just tell you to look online and she never keep blackboard updated either. If calc comes naturally to you, you'll do fine but otherwise you're wasting your time and money with this lady.  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2013-08-22

Comments:1301 - She was nice to an extent. But made you feel dumb when you asked questions. She was very good about giving examples, and her tests were pretty simple. She gives you review questions before the test. If you do those, you should be fine. The homework is online, so it is easy to forget about doing it. she's late to a lot of her classes, but only holds you for how long she needs to teach the material. She doesn't run past class time. She gives a good amount of extra credit. if I had taken advantage of everything she offers, an A would have been very easy to make. Although, she's a different story when it come to her calc classes.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1304 - Take her!!! All the comments below are not accurate. Mrs. Pisors is the sweetest lady! The online homework isn't too bad and she takes the top ten grades. The test are sooo easy if you do the hw. They are directly the ones off of the problem list. She is very picky with her grading style though. She expects all the details to be there, but if you work the problems how they are showed in the answer book you will have no problem. She also does a good job explaining how she wants things written. On a positive note there is tons of extra credit! She drops your lowest test grade, I recommend her for precal! She is so nice and very helpful. So don't be scared from the previous reviews! I'm horrible at math and this class was not a challenge. Take her!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Math 1301 - This lady is nice as a person, but she has a whole different side to her when teaching. Taking this class, we are BA students, and those that are not the best at math. I openly admit that math is hard for me. But, this women can not teach people in this class. SHE GOES WAY TO FAST. Nobody can finish her tests in the time given. She is RUDE and she WILL make you feel stupid if you ask a question. She told me that "I have never had a student take the homework so many times and fail as much as you have" (but really the website just froze) and "how do you not understand? it's in your notes." (my notes are great and she assumes if you do not understand the first time then you are stupid or a bad student.)She said "lets do this question again for a certain student." She will leave you feeling defeated. Its not difficult math, but she makes it hard. I never missed class and felt like I hardly improved.  - Grade In Class:C+

Date: 2013-04-14

Comments:1309 - DO NOT TAKE. NO MATTER WHAT. Her grading is WACK. When you go into talk to her about why you think you deserve the point she will practically laugh in your face. She often makes the students feel like they're idiots. Always on a powertrip. Usually 5+ min late to class, and thinks its ok to hold us 5+ min after class time is up. By far worst prof. DO NOT TAKE!!!!! The tests were verbatim from the homework (which i always did) but i would still end up with C's because she takes off for the SILLIEST little things.. She's worse than my worst high school math teacher, and he was BAD.  - Grade In Class:C+

Date: 2013-04-11

Comments:Into to Math - Don't panic if you get her for math. Her tests are literally word for word from the homework. I never had a problem with Ms. Pisors. Actually, I think she is a sweet lady who genuinely wants her students to pass. Since the tests are the homework problems, ask questions during class and go in during office hours and she will be more willing to help you out. Also make sure to follow directions on the test (i.e. write out answers in sentence form and label everything). I got an A and hardly studied for her class, except maybe 2 hours a week tops, plus reviewed the day before the test. Seriously an easy A.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1304 - This class was awesome. The teacher knew what she was doing. She taught well and made the class do-able. We had homework due every class but that is reasonable because it is a math class. The quizzes and homework was straight from the homework. She even told us what problems to focus on from the homework list and those same problems showed up on the tests just different numbers. This is the easiest class I have taken at Baylor. However you do have to do mymathlab and the homework list, but it's really not much. If you can do those two things on time then you will be set for the class. Easy to get an A and get some extra credit points. She's really sweet so take her! Probably the best pre-cal professor here.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2012-12-10

Comments:Pre-Calc - She is a terrible professor. DO NOT TAKE! She does her best to teach inside the classroom but she is incredibly boring and difficult to pay attention to. She is very demeaning and disrespectful to her students. She made me jump through multiple hoops in order to drop her class and my advisor didn't agree with her methods. The work load is daily with multiple online quizes per week. It's manageable but not easy. Her tests are IMPOSSIBLE. She does not give partial credit and will take points off for what seems like no reason. When questioning her grading style she becomes very defensive and rude. DO NOT TAKE PISORS, she will ruin your life.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Comments:Business Pre-Cal - Ms. Pisors is a tacher who does her best to teach a very boring subject. She answers all questions that are asked in class and throws out hardly any suprises on exams. All quizzes count solely as extra credit. I am far from a "math person" and I managed to get an A because I worked hard. Math is a class that requires time outside of the classroom and if you sincerely try in this class, you will succeed.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2012-06-07

Comments:Business Precal - Her teaching ability is pretty good but she is a VERY VERY hard grader. She will take off for EVERY little thing you do. Outside from that and the fact that her office hours are incredibly limited, she is a pretty good person. She's really nice and understanding. She also really cares about her students. But she knows that a lot of people fail her class, and she doesn't seem to really do much about it.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Date: 2012-05-07

Comments:MTH1304 - Overall she is a great professor. But her office hours are really bad. She really doesn't help you at all. She will guide you but you have to finish the problem. She gives out tons of EXTRA CREDIT IN CLASS. THE QUIZZES ARE EXTRA CREDIT.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2012-04-02

Comments:Business Pre-Cal - Honestly, I LOVE Mrs.Pisors. She makes it almost impossible for you to fail her class. If you are nice to her and go into her office hours for extra help you will be fine. She spends all class period going over the material, and she does TONS of examples to help you better understand the material. Also, her tests literally come from the homework, and the class before the test day, she goes through the problem list and tells you which specific problems to look over. You'd have to be a really sour person to not like her. I actually plan on taking her again for Calculus! :)  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2012-03-23

Comments:MTH 1308 - It is not the end of the world if she is your math teacher! I had her for business pre-cal and I actually enjoyed the class. She spent the class time answering a couple homework questions from the night before and then would move onto the section by giving examples and she expected students to follow along with the example and learn from them. She did not have any in class quizzes, gave out 13 easy online homework assignments and only took ten for a grade, she drops the lowest test grade, and there is a ton of chances for bonus points.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2011-12-29

Comments:MTH 1308 - I think that she did a good job teaching pre cal for business majors. She is a little boring, but she is a sweet lady who is really easy to follow, and also cares about her students. She even drops your lowest test grade. If you do the homework assignments (which are pretty easy) and pay attention most of the time this class should be doable.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Ideas in Math - If paying $40,000 for education means teaching yourself, then she would be the perfect teacher. Why was she difficult? She made asking questions impossible! I would never ask anything since she made other students look like fools. Only when a guest came to class did she respect our questions. She also lacked availably. She was absent before tests and only allowed two hours for students to contact her in her office before the final. Her teaching style was very poor as well. She spent two classes talking about grades instead of prepping for the final. She even ignored myriad complaints about her abilities. Her tests are easy as are the homework assignments, but you can’t talk to her since she ignores emails. DON’T TAKE HER!  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:MTH 1308 - It confuses me as to why this woman teaches at Baylor University. I pay $40k a year to come here, and did not appreciate coming to class every MWF to a sloppily dressed woman who was not knowledgeable about the subject matter. At least 2-3 times every class someone would catch her teaching a problem the wrong way or messing up an equation. She grades tests arbitrarily, so unless you can read her mind and tell what exactly her finicky self wants to see for an answer, don't count on getting a good grade. Even if you do well and get all the right answers, she will FIND a way to knock points off your grade. DO the bonus points, they are EASY and basically free. Test questions come straight off the practice problems that she gives, so DO THEM. But for the love of God, take someone else if you possibly can.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2011-12-12

Comments:Pre-Calc - She's terrible. I went to class every day, paid attention, wasn't rude, attempted to ask questions (which she wouldn't answer) and took diligent notes. She doesn't explain stuff very well and most of the time I have to teach myself. I have never had to study for a math class before in my life but she doesn't even teach so I have to. I'm in the OALA program and when it came time for her to fill out my test forms for me to take my tests in Sid Rich she would get all defensive like I was doing something wrong and would lecture me on stupid stuff. If you're not her favorite automatically then you're screwed. I could've had an A in this class but Pisors is terrible. Never take her if you have the choice.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1301-Intro to Math - DO NOT TAKE HER. Just look at her rating on here. They are true. She isn't a good professor. My biggest problem with her is she posts homework assignments on a random website and doesn't tell you about them ever. If you do happen to go on the site, they only last for like a day and then get locked so you cant take them. She is the worst professor I have ever had. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:Pre-Cal - Choose a different teacher. I had her for Pre-Cal for business students, and everyday was like a war! If you ask her a simple question, she snaps back at you! She interrupts your questions and absolutely refuses to answer questions about tests after class. Everyone in the class pretty much gave up doing the homework into the last couple of months. It was obvious. She takes off points on tests for the most dumb reasons!! Once, my answer for a question was y=4, x=3 and SHE TOOK OFF POINTS because I did not write y intercept =4, x intercept=3! She never knows what time it is, always makes up leave late. The only good thing about her is that she teaches slowly, so its easy for you to learn. But I'm talking about slowly as in she writes out every single step, even 5+1=6. There are a bunch of bonus points you can grab too. I got a C+ because I just stopped caring about this class. A teacher who cancels a final review session to go eat lunch- I'll just never understand.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:MATH 1308 - Prof. Pisors is a like or dislike type teacher. I just happen to like her because she is very sweet and helpful sometimes. I can't really comment on how she teaches, because in the end its the responsibility of the student to actually study and practice math problems to do well on her exams. As an accounting major, detail is very very important and Prof. Pisors way of checking exams show that. She is very picky and she wants everything to complete and in detail. do not answer like "4", but instead put "y=4 or x=4"! Write in complete sentences and check your watch all the time. Homework is very easy! I made 100% on it, because she only takes the top 10 homework online! There are four exams and she drops the lowest exam. There is a departmental final which I'll be taking this coming monday. She does give bonus quizzes that she adds to your lowest of the three exams. It boosts my grade up around 7% more. Do them! Do the homework also cause it helps a lot! Never rely on teachers! Good luck!  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1321 - Mrs. Pisors is a great math professor. I had to retake the course because my first time was horrible and I didn't learn anything, but her class was awesome. Every class we went over the assigned sections and did the homework that night. She never collected any homework and the quizzes were simply bonus points for our lowest test grade--which was added to the lowest of our top three tests. She is a very sweet lady and very enthusiastic about precal. I highly recommend her.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1301 - If you're looking for an easy math class, this is it. Pisors is nice to you if you're nice to her. Stay attentive in class, answer her questions (she asks many brain teasers such as "What do we get when we add four and eight?" *crickets*) as she won't move forward unless one scapegoat answers her. It's easy to get an A in here, but just be respectful to her and she'll do the same to you.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2011-02-02

Comments:1308 - I really don't understand why Pisors has a rating in the 30s. Sure, she's not the greatest teacher in the history of the world. However, in the 50 minutes she had to teach every other day, she answered questions on the previous night's homework, and taught what was required. She stuck to her syllabus, and, as promised, left us with substantial time to review for the final. She has a pleasant demeanor, albeit an annoying accent. She is not great. She is not bad. She is serviceable.   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1301 - I had Pisors for Ideas of Mathematics. The class was a joke, but easy nonetheless. We had weekly online homework that you had several chances to retake, and she gave reviews before each test. She's not the greatest teacher and kind of boring, but if you did the work, it was an easy A.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1309 - Pisors is the worst professor at Baylor. Questions in class went ignored and when you would try and talk to her she had no interest in hearing what you had to say. She plays favorites and once she decides she doesn't like you, you're done. Her job should be re-evaluated by Baylor University; she's a poor reflection on the University. I love Baylor and everything about it except her. She's uninterested in helping her students that want to learn and excell do so.   - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1308 - Terrible teacher. I have spent hours every week studying, and still fail all of her tests. She does not teach, and assumes we know what she is doing in her head when she works out problems on the board. The homework is easy, so I don't learn anything from it. Everyone I know who has taken her class has struggled, so if at ALL possible find another teacher. I honestly don't understand how she is still teaching at Baylor. I want a refund for her class.  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:1304 - I had Pisors for Pre-Cal. I know that a lot of students who had the class with me complained about her, but personally, I thought she was a good teacher. She explained things well, went over things, and she was respectful toward her students. Unlike some teachers, she actually learned your name and called you by your name/nickname. I think it helped that I previously had Pre-Cal and Cal 1 in high school, but even if you haven't had pre-cal or cal, you should be ok if you pay attention and do the work. I knew students who had never taken pre-cal who scored higher than me on tests. She is pretty strict on grading tests. On the first test I got points docked off because I didn't put an "=" in front of my answers and the steps I showed to get my answer. But, as the semester goes by you just learn her grading style and learn to be careful and label everything and show all your work, which is important in later math classes. The tests aren't bad either--they're mainly free response. Bottom line is if you know the material well, you should do fine. The homework is online, and is very do-able. She gives you enough time to get it done. There is also homework out of the book, but it's not graded. However, I'd still highly recommend doing the bookwork--it's a great way to study for tests. You can also score a lot of bonus points--sometimes she'll have pop quizzes that are really easy, and are easy bonus points. I was actually surprised that I got an A in the class because I mainly got B's on the tests and I wasn't sure how well I did on the departmental final, but I did put in a lot of work for that class. As long as you do the work and put in the time to study, you should do well!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1304 - I don't know what everyone is talking about, Ms. Pisors is one of the best math teachers I've ever had. She's very kind and understanding. I think that her only flaw is that she's WAY too strict when it comes to grading tests. I remember i lost like 6-8 points by not putting "y=" in front of a function in my answers. But other than that she's a jewel. The only insanely hard test is the trig test and the departmental final(which few people actually make a decent grade on anyway). the homework and Mathlab is ...do-able. Overall, her class is pretty decent  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:1309 - Pisors is not a very good professor when it comes to explaining things or being empathetic. At times she is rude when answering your questions, but I do not think she knows she is doing it. One on one, she is very personable. She also wants her students to do well since she drops the lowest test grade, drops lowest 3 online homework assignments and offers 30+ bonus points all semester. No quizzes. Final is cumulative, but 80% is taken from old test questions, so make sure you answer the test questions you got wrong as you go. Gives take home tests.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1308 - Pisors is HORRIBLE! She is the worst teacher I've ever had in my entire life. She doesn't know how to teach anything, nor does she care if you understand it! There is homework on the computer and that's pretty easy, because you can view and example and make 100's on all of your papers, there are no quizzes, and her tests are pretty easy, but how she grades is nearly impossible. She wants you to label everything, write everything, and basically all you can do in your calculator is add and subract, but you have to show you did that on the paper. She's very detailed! We even had to draw a BUTTON on the test to indicate that we pressed a button on the calculator showing we know which one to press. She doesn't count off evenly, she subtracts 10 points from each little mistake. Don't take her unless you want to be miserable. She's a horrible teacher and needs to be fired!!!   - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1308 - Okay, how should I put this... She is the WORST math teacher I have ever taken. If You are good at math then I'm sure You will be fine. However, if you are the type that needs a prof to actually teach the material she probably wont be the best choice. She grades extremely difficult so be careful! I honestly think she has a grudge against Baylor students. She doesn't care if You fail her class. For instance class had just started and she told us she had our tests graded and she asked us when we wanted to see them, so we all said now of course. So she says and I quote " I think after would be better so you can cry your way out " and she smiled as she said it. I'm not making this up seriously, SHE IS A COLD HEARTED FARM LADY. I will be praying for who ever else has to endure her as a prof. I don't know why she is even able to teach at Baylor. It's not fair for all the money we have to pay to go here. God bless.  - Grade In Class:F

She gave or class 22 points of extra credit added to the tests, and dropped the lowest test. People complain about her takingoff points for not showing work or not writing answers in a sentence but she tells you a million times to do this. Comments:MTH 1304 - DON'T. Just don't. If you're thinking this class is easy because you took pre-cal in high-school, you're wrong. In fact, the only thing similar to high-school is how she treats the students-- tardy policies, putting a mark by your name, collecting cell phones, etc. Sometimes I doubt she actually knows what she is teaching. The students correct her on her work at least 3 times during class. Your voice is awful to listen to, like your great aunt you hate visiting. One time in class we counted how many times she said "ALRIGHT"... 91 times. She can't teach, the homework is dreadful, the tests are not like the homework, and it is in no way similar to whatever pre-cal you've already taken. Like I said... don't.  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:1304 - Everyone is right. There isn't much else I can say. Precalculus was so easy for me in high school, and I was in honors. But Pisors makes it so impossible to pass. Exams are nothing what she gives you to study and takes so many points away for nothing. Forgetting a negative sign could easily drop you 5 points on your exam. Try to avoid her. She will bring down your GPA, especially if math is not your greatest subject. Best of luck!  - Grade In Class:B

On one of her tests, I drew & labeled the axis of symmetry, but didn't actually state that it was "x = (whatever)" - and she took points off for it. If you *do* get stuck with this awful teacher - make sure you label everything and show ALL your work (I mean that!) - she'll take off if you don't, even if it's right!  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:Bus Pre Cal - RUN FAR FAR FARRRRR AWAY IF YOU HAPPEN TO GET THIS TEACHER. She literally asked us what 7 + 2 was one day in class. This is the worst math teacher I have EVER had and I know that my class generally felt the same way. Every test was extremely lengthy with not enough time to finish. Her HW assignments were pretty generic but in class when it was time to ask questions over it, she would only go over 3 problems. By only, I mean it took her the WHOLE CLASS to go over 3 problems. She's extremely picky about how you show your work, her way or the highway (especially on tests). I asked her why I received a 'deficiency' email before my mid-term and she told me it was "because she hadn't figured out how to put the homework grades on the computer" yet. WOW. really?! she's terrible. the class should NOT be that hard, its Pre-Cal. not difficult in the least bit.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:1304 - Mrs. Pisors is very nice but is absolutely terrible at teaching. The homework and lectures have very little to do with what's on the tests. She says she makes the tests "hard to prepare you for the final." But the final wasn't any easier compared to the rest of the tests. In general, the class is just very unorganized. Comments:1301 - She is hard to work with, will make you feel as if you don't know what your talking about, test were very ambiguous, homework is all online, gives extra problems to work on if desired, ignored me when raising my hand. Do not take her, if only time that works with schedule, just wait, take it another time.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1301 - WORST PROF EVER!!! She doesn't know her material and plays favorites. She even called me stupid in front of the class one day. Failed me on purpose. I re-took the class with CATES--he was great. Do not take any of Pisor's classes  - Grade In Class:F

Comments:Intro to Mathematics - I dropped this class while I still could... do not take Pisors if you can help it..SERIOUSLY. She is very rude and does NOT like to work with the student. She took off points on my tests for not writing my answers in COMPLETE SENTENCES... on a math test - seriously?! YEAH! The HW is not bad, it's all online and it's pretty easy. But once you get to her tests...it's awful! I studied for hours and I would walk away thinking I aced the test. Wrong. She is a big fan of TRICK questions... she is so unhelpful and rude. Don't take her for your own good.   - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1308 - ABSOLUTELY the WORST teacher I've ever had. RUN THE OTHER WAY! And if you do have her, DOUBLE CHECK her grading SEVERAL students had misgraded tests and since she doesn't go over them until the end of the semester in her words "it is too late to fix HER mistake." She can be just down right RUDE, I'm surprised Baylor hasn't caught on yet. Her only real available office times is 8am. I will say she is good at explaining in class, and the work load isn't bad, but the GRADING is insane. You better learn fast how she likes it, and do it that way. Or just drop her!!!! RUN!!!!!!!!!!!   - Grade In Class:C

Comments:Ideas in Math - She seems like a nice woman, and then she opens her mouth. She has the teaching ability of a pet rock. I could have learned more if she would have just sat there and not said anything, because all that comes out of her mouth is often wrong. So much of the class was her re-doing problems and ASKING HER STUDENTS if her calculations were correct. She is the math teacher, or at least claims to be one, why does she need her student's help with addition and subtraction? I personally feel that she is only fit to teach Mathmatics to Elementary School kids, and even then I would not wish such a poor excuse for a teacher on anyone. If you see her on your schedule change immediately.   - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1301 - She is the worst teacher that I have ever experienced in my entire educational career. She is NOT the reason I chose to go to Baylor, and she made me reevaluate my college choice because I had her first semester Freshman year. But, I survived and am glad that all my other professors have been fine, even great. Aviod her at all costs, and if you can not prepare for a slow, frustrating, and often nausiating ride.   - Grade In Class:B

Comments:Ideas in Mathematics - This explains the nature of her class and teaching style.... she purposely phrased a question so the class would get a wrong answer. When why she would do that.... she said that it was not our concern as to why she would do that. As a student paying thousands of dollars per class... and directly paying her salary... it every bit of our concern.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Comments:1304 - She is absolutely the worst teacher i have ever had!!! I made straight A's is highschool in math and I almost failed this class. She doesnt take up homework but still wants you to do it. Sometimes she has quizes. She doesnt teach you anything so the tests are really hard. the concepts arent hard just the questions and the way you remember doing then is way different than what she wants. When you answer questions on the test you have to write in complete sentences. Even my suitemate thought she was ridiculous. And when i went to ask her for help she said that i needed to stop looking in the back of the book for answers on my homework, which i never did. she was extremely unhelpful. i dont know how her math models class is but if you are taking precal and you see her name run away!!! DONT TAKE HER!!!! even if she was the only teacher avaliable for the course, i still would not take her!!!  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:1304 - I don't think that this class was that terrible. Mrs. Pisors isn't a great teacher but isn't completely imcompetent either. She is a nice lady though, and really likes when students go to her office during office hours. She really likes when students stay after class and ask questions, and she will give you hints if you go to her office. There are 3 tests and 3 take home tests and a final. The tests can be pretty tricky but the take home tests are very easy as long as you put time into it. I wouldn't take her again, but I don't think she is bad as most people are making her out to be.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1301 - This woman is uncaring and unhelpful. She doesn't even know her own subject, and daily gets methods and problems wrong while teaching during lessons. She somehow manages to make ideas in mathematics hard, which i thought was impossible. DO NOT sign up for this woman's class.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1301 - I failed a test (didn't show work the way she wanted) and i asked her what i did wrong and she wouldn't tell me. Told me to make corrections (which did nothing for your grade) to it and i thought that was stupid because OBVIOUSLY i don't know how to do it. A completely incompitent person who has twisted the art of teaching to suit her own goals of making anyone who has to take a math class hate thier parents for conceiving them.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Comments:1301 - Ok this sounds sad if you know me because i have ALWAYS made an A in every math class i have ever taken and then i have her. OMG she is the worst grader i have ever had. The first quiz i got every problem right and made a 4 because i didn't show my work. The first problem was a graph of a line and you were supposed to write the formula in Y=MX+B form and i did. Got the answer right but got counted of 3 pts because i didn't show my work. HOW DO YOU SHOW YOUR WORK ON THAT. Not only that but there were 5 problems on that quiz. That means that they are only worth 2 pts a piece. What kind of math teacher counts off more than the problem's worth for getting the right answer. NEVER TAKE THIS CLASS. YOU WILL DOOM YOURSELF AND NEVER RECOVER. That's why i dropped. I thought it better to drop and go a semester behind rather than let her screw up my GPA. Oh and the tests are INSANE. Just thought i'd let you know.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Comments:1302 - WARNING. If you see this teachers name on your schedule, jus go ahead and change to another teacher. I have been an A sudent in math all my life, and then I get a D. Lets discuss why. Lectures: pointless. They have nothing to do with anything that the homework is about. Homework: students are not prepared for it. she says she will go over the ones you have questions on.. and then ends up going over like 2 then thats it. quizzes: lame. end of story. tests: once again, have nothing to do with anything. oh, and guys, lets write in complete sentences, b/c she takes off if you don't. (since we are in english class.) Basically she is not fit to be teaching even my cousin in kindergarten, and is def not fit to be teaching colege students. run.  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:1301 - I strongly disliked this class. I have never been anything but an A student in math and somehow ended up with a C. She gives the easiest quizzes and lessons, so you would think the tests would be easy too. HOWEVER, the tests were NEVER over the material studied in class. It was all multiple choice, which in my opinion doesn't reflect your knowledge in math. I really just didn't like the class or her teaching style.   - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:PreCal - She is a really nice lady and always smiles, but she can't teach to save her life! I took Pre Cal and AP Calculus in high school and had no idea what she was trying to tell me in class. Not only that, but you could get every answer on the test right and she'll still find a way to take off twenty points on something. She took off four points on my first test because the answer to one of the questions wasn't in the exact place that she wanted it...  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:MTH 1309 - Its calculus, its not THAT hard...if you can't make a B thats your own fault...Pisors is worthless, she WILL NOT HELP YOU. If you are good at math it won't be that bad, but if you are not good at math and need to be TAUGHT the material DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. YOU WILL NOT MAKE A B. I have 3 horror stories involving her that I won't share for anonymity sake but basically she refused to clarify a typo on a quiz, told me in class that she answered a question by'using her math ability' and moved on, AND wouldn't talk to me when I came by during her office hours one time in October. Seriously, she is worse than Chonko...  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1309 - She is a nice woman, she will give very easy quizzes on days not many people show up which turn out to be easy 100s which is helpful. Homework isn't required but some quizzes are over the homework so its best that you do it. Not too great at actually teaching and makes her tests a lot harder than they should be. Comments:1309 - She needs to go back to high school. I mean come on, who takes 30 minutes to teach one problem? This lady's got too much time on her hands to practice teaching a problem in 30 minutes. When they ask you to bring a instructor to chapel... bring her =] it'll probably get her back for all those classtime she wastes of ur life.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:MTH 1309 - Pisors is quite possibly the worst math teacher I have ever encountered. It is probable one will get every answer on a test right and make a C. She counts off crazy amounts of points on quizes and tests if every step isn't shown.(and shown exactly the way she teaches) I really felt like I was in middle school again. She spends most of the class working out long algebra problems on the board and not teaching calculus. Most of the times she gets the simple math wrong. She likes to ramble in class and then give a 10 question quiz in the last 7 minutes of class. I'm not sure how Ms. Pisors got through college, let alone is teaching it. If I hadn't already taken calculus and been good at math, I would have definetely made a much lower grade. She didn't teach me anything new all year and I still somehow managed to make a B in the class.   - Grade In Class:B

Comments: PreCal 1304 - IF YOU GET PISORS ON YOUR SCHEDULE RUN FAR, FAR AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!! the woman is nice enough, but she absolutley missed her calling if she thinks she was meant to teach. she is the WORST teacher i have ever had, if you can call her that. it's not that the material is hard- it's math, so it's pretty straightforward- but her "notes" are never like the homework and she refuses to go over more than 2 problems in class because she says it takes up lecture time. she takes off points if you don't write your answers in complete sentences- COME ON LADY, IT'S MATH, NOT ENGLISH! our first test average was so bad, she wouldn't even tell us what it was. Four people in the class passed, and i made a 71. she claims she can't see, but she NEVER wears her glasses (it's a wonder if she even owns any), and the class corrects her on her work all the time. she frequently messes up on problems she works on the board, and has to look at her teacher's manual for the steps and answers. she really is just not a good professor at all. i would not recommend her even if someone had a knife to my throat. my advice: RUN!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:MTH 1309 - Pisors is an idiot. She is a waste of space in front of the blackboard...since she can't challenge smart students she just picks away at stupid flaws in their work...this is the only prof I have that I don't like, on top of that, I don't know where this "shes a nice lady" comes from...  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ideas in math - horrible experience... i had to devote my entire first semester at baylor to freakin ideas in math. i also, like said, saw her make people cry. I thought she knew what she was talking about, and seems like a real "nice lady" but this class was hell! If you take this class, DO NOT get on her bad side by sleeping/talking/laughing at her...and dont sit by people that do. she'll hate you. If she already does you better start sucking up now. Ask her about her kids or something...  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:MTH1309 - I think it would have been a better class had the administration tied a cow to the chalkboard and let it teach. She is THE WORST teacher, if you can call her that at all. Will usually do one or two examples and resfuses to go back and explain her work. Almost no one finishes her exams on time because she makes them long & difficult. Her 'review' day in class for exams are a joke. Test Avg for Exams 1 & 2: 64, 51. I dropped after the second exam. You're better off teaching yourself.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Date: 2006-04-12

Comments:1321 - Pisors was not a good 1321 teacher at all. While, she is a nice lady she likes her math work exactly the way she wants it. On her tests, you can get a problem wrong by doing a problem a different way than what she showed you even if the answer was right. While, teaching she constantly makes mistakes in math, and has to go back.   - Grade In Class:C+

Date: 2006-04-12

Comments:Pre-Calculus - I got an A in this course by spending about 6 hours a week teaching myself from the textbook. Numerous times did I have to correct Pisors because she did something incorrectly on the blackboard, and like a lot of other people have said on this board already, she confuses people really easily. She is a nice person, but is not qualified to be teaching at Baylor University. I was tutoring 5+ people by the end of the semester, and a double-digit number of people either failed or dropped out of my class. It was pretty pitiful.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2006-02-15

Comments:1401 - She was horrible. Definatly left a scar on my first semester. I had to go back and teach myself from the book because I was completely lost in class. Her screwing up basic math problems and skipping around to fast created a jumble of confusing content that just didnt quite fit into my head. You gotta be prepared for the possibility that she may come in 10 minutes late on test day and expect you to finish the test designed for the full period in the now 15 minute shorter period (allow for an additional 5 minutes as she gets prepared for class). And I tried to go to her office for help, but I saw a note on her door that said she was off to ther doctor (during office hours) and that she would be back at a certain time. Never showed up. So ya youd probally be best avoiding Pisors.  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2005-12-16

Comments:1304 - I do not reccomend this teacher AT ALL! You will have to learn all the material on your own. My first test in her class was an A, and my second test was in the 50's. Half her class is spent reviewing HW problems, and the other half is spent with her trying to teach, which she doesn't really do. She'll blame everything on her glasses (which she forgets) or her calculator, and mess up simple math. She would also not allow adequate time for quizzes. The HW quizzes are pretty easy to figure out when they'll occur, so be ready. That can be a grade booster.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2005-12-01

Comments:1301 Ideas - The material is easy, but Pisors manages to complicate everything! Yeah, I have an A in her class, but only because I wouldn't dare miss a day and a lot of times I have to teach myself from the textbook. Tests are a piece of cake if you look over stuff, I recommend doing the homework (it's not required for you to turn in every class period, but she'll give random quizzes to see if you've done it), and quizzes are mainly just inconvenient. Also, if you make an appointment with her, don't be surprised if she's not there or she scheduled 3 other people for the same time. The most unhelpful professor I've had so far. She makes Baylor look bad.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2005-11-20

Comments:Ideas in Math - Charlotte Pisors is a witch. Her voice makes me leave class with a migrane everyday (its seriously that annoying). She is an awful teacher and our class ends up correcting her on basic math skills. She is unhelpful when you ask her questions and takes off points for EVERYTHING. She didn't tell us to write in complete sentences for our last test, so no one did, and the whole class got at least 10 points off, even if your numerical answer was correct. She gives hard quizes that count almost as much as the test (they count 15%) and your tests count (20%). I made a 91 and a 95 on her tests and somehow have a B in there due to her random and hard quizes. So basically, don't take Charlotte Pisors unless you want a complete moron for a teacher.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2005-11-17

Comments:Pre-Cal - As you can tell, pisors is NOT the way to go. She is a nice lady, but when it comes to teaching, she is not qualified to teach any college math course. Let me explain- one day in class she asked us what 70 + 30 was... thats screams unqualified. Half of the class, she doesnt know what shes doing, and has to redo her problems, after the students catch her mistakes. She never gives any difining formulas, she just pulls them out randomly, and the entire class is confused. Plus, she is incredibly boring, and the accomplishment of that class is if you can stay awake for the hour. Almost everyone fails the tests, which are worth 60% of the grades. Although she doesnt take up homework, she gives homework quizzes. She doesnt finish 'teaching' the lesson because she is too busy helping everyone understand the last lesson. So as a result to that, the entire class is confused on lesson for that nights homework. Oh and she never brings a calculator or knows the answers to the example problems she does on the board. When she grades the tests--you better have every step written and every i dotted, because she will mark off 10 points for almost anything. AVIOD THIS CLASS, ITS GOING TO KILL YOUR GPA.   - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:1304 - Shes a really nice lady. She just can't teach. It was hard to stay awake..I found that I could stay awake most of the time if I was towards the front. She gave homework but doesnt take a grade. the tests are torture! she gave tests from the past for you to review...there were a few problems that would be on the test. she always messed up on her calculations--we corrected her alot. tests were usually short...but with several parts to each. her grading was horrible...she was harsh...very set in her way.i did pretty good in math in highschool---but i would of failed this class...i would advise you to go to SI sessions and understand homework...actually take another teacher!  - Grade In Class:DROP

Comments:Basic Ideas in Mathamatic - She is a completely unfeeling in her teachings. She gives quizzes alomost every other day. She will give you homework quizzes and quizzes over what you have covered. Make sure you do your homework and keep it organized. She seems nice at first but shes not. She will take off if you do not answer questions with ? with complete sentences. If you do not do the work her way you will be counted off. But she does extra credit and the fact that the course is easy helps alot. If you buy the book that shows how to actually do the odd problems you will not always get it right because she does not do anything the way the book does.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1304 - Okay...I got royally screwed when I transfered to Baylor (I transfered from an Ivy League). All my mathematics courses (Calc I - Calc III) did not transfer as equivalencies, and I didn't know I had to take the dumb placement test for math. With that said...She's probably the worst math professor I have ever taken. You would think that having up to Calc III, I would be able to pass the course with flying colors. But no...It's a complete blessing that I actually passed the course because she's extremely nit picky about her exams. The final was rediculously easy because it was departmental. She doesn't show up for appointments. And she's really sloppy with her calculations. So when you take notes, usually her math is wrong. I highly recommend you take a different professor for this class.   - Grade In Class:B+

There are a couple of easy formulas you have to memorize, but plug those babies into your calculator memory, and you are good to go. If you can not ace Ideas in Mathematics, than you must be a retard. I never once had to study and I have a 98, and I am generally really bad at math. Her tests are very simple too. Comments:1301 - Pisors is a very nice lady but I don't find her teaching methods useful. I can't bring myself to pay attention in class because it's sooo boring. Her quizes are either REALLY easy or moderately hard. The tests aren't really too bad. Somehow I made a B+ on all three tests I've taken but I made a 47 on the midterm. Who knows what's going on.. Sometimes I right bs on the tests and she counts it right and other times she takes off tons of pts for seemingly no reason. She's spacey and not fully there. She takes an attendence grade (5%) :\ I usually just teach myself the material from the book the night before and can pass the tests.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1301 - Ideas in Math - She just got married so she also might be listed under Keeney. This class is so easy. I did so bad in Math in high school and I have recieved an A on every test. She explains things very well and I find myself not even having to study for the tests, which are every few weeks and are our only grades. She also drops your lowest test so you can screw up once. The only bad thing is that the exam is cumilitive so you have to remember everything from the whole semester. But if you are bad at Math and want an A take this class.   - Grade In Class:A
