Comments:CSS 4352 - Dr. Gerber is my favorite professor I have had during my time at Baylor. I've never had a professor who cared so much about his students and the class experience he was providing them with. Dr. Gerber is consistently available, caring, and passionate about what he teaches. This was the most fun, practical, and easiest 4000 level I have taken. Dr. Gerber doesn't want to waste your time with busywork, he wants you to learn and get better! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:4352 - Very easy and straightforward class. Tests are the open note and aren't difficult. Two speeches were spread in the semester as well. Overall very easy for a 4000 lvl class. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3307 - I recommend taking Gerber for Legal Comm. He's a very reasonable professor with grades and workload. Exams aren't difficult and answers come directly from lecture slides. There are 2 presentations and a final paper but they are totally doable. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:CSS 3307 - Take this class! You'll learn a lot in a way that is not overwhelming. Show up to class, take good notes (you don't even really need to do the readings), prepare for your speeches, and you'll get an A. Professor Gerber has ZERO ego and actually cares about his students and wants them to learn. If you feel something is unfair on an exam, just ask him and he's likely to give you points back. Was very accommodating and I learned a lot in the class. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:- - Absolutely amazing professor. He is kind and teaches you a lot. Class was very good and doable. There is some work, but not too much. If you do the work well, you will get an A. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1304 - Gerber is a great professor and he keeps class interesting. Your grade consists of a few writing assignments, one big debate, a midterm, and a final. This class was extremely easy because all you had to do was put in the effort for the writing assignments and the big debate. The midterm and the final were a breeze as long as you did a little bit of studying. Gerber is a funny guy and he keeps the few debates interesting since he comes up with the topics. The only complaint that I have is that he did not post grades the entire semester, so I never knew what I had in the course until I received my final grade. Gerber is a great professor and you should take him if you get the chance. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:4352 - Corporate Advocacy- Gerber is THE MAN! I would recommend you take his class in a heartbeat. This was probably by far one of the most interesting classes that I have taken at Baylor and Dr. Gerber does a fantastic job of giving you the information and allowing class discussion. His powerpoints are brief and on many occasions, he lets us out early. He is also the debate coach so at least during the Spring semester, he canceled class on several occasions. Also, his exams were pretty easy if you know the material. After he grades the exams, he gives them back in class and you have the opportunity to argue points back. TAKE HIM, you won't regret it. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:4352 - Corporate Advocacy - Awesome class. Really applicable to the business world. Would recommend taking to any Comm or Business major since this class touches on corporate policy, advocacy, brand management (in a way), and corporate social responsibility. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:4310 - Since Dr. Gerber is head of the debate team, you will have to give a couple of speeches in this class. His tests are not hard and they come straight from his powerpoint lectures, When handing back tests he allows the students to argue points back. He is very kind and helpful and wants everyone in his class to get an A, his classes are also very interesting, and all structured very similarly - Grade In Class:A
Comments:Corporate Advocacy - First I recommend this class if you are actually interested in going in the corporate route, many people were impressed by this class in interviews. As far as Gerber goes....he is very smart but the problem is I think he could have done so much more with this class so the class fell short of the substance I was hoping to get from it. He won't follow the syllabus or use black board, he emailed us all the materials, and keeping them organized had some difficulties b/c he would send some twice and forget to send others. All in all, you shouldn't have trouble making a good grade, he gives two test and you have to give a couple of speeches. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:4353 - foreign discourse/public policy-Gerber is a cool professor, really laid back and never had intense dead lines. If you are a type "B" personality and don't mind class discussions digressing to the "nth" degree, you'd like the class. Large readings, but rarely tested or discussed. No textbook required, and meeting on Wednesdays only for 3 hours ends up being around 1-2 hours. Interesting class, really cool prof, easy A. Don't bother reading the syllabus, he won't follow it-- - Grade In Class:A
Comments:Legal Comm - My favorite professor at Baylor. I have taken 2 classes with him so far and plan on taking 2 more in the spring. He always wants to give you an A, you just have to earn it. And if you don't get an A in his class... That's just sad. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:Persuasion - I love Dr. Gerber because he is an easy teacher. Sometimes he does not show up to class, but when he does he gives you the notes and lets you leave. There are 4 tests DIRECTLY from the in class notes and a 10 pg. paper. I would definately take him because he is a great guy. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:1304 - this debate class is scary at first because he uses words that you dont really understand, but if you ask him for help he gladly will help you. you dont need the book and he doesnt require you to purchase it because his tests come straight from his lectures, which he sends to you on powerpoint right before the test. the tests are fairly easy as long as you memorize the notes and understand the basic concepts. there are 4 tests and a balloon debate which you debate against other students in the class (sounds scary to non debaters, but i didnt know what i was doing and i did fine). you also have to write a 10 page research paper, which is a drag, but he doesnt grade too harshly. - Grade In Class:A
